Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: A Stealthy Ais

"Let's work hard today and try to hit an income of 20,000!"

If the three of them earned 20,000 Valis in one day, that would be an average of over 6,000, almost 7,000, per person. If other adventurers heard this, they would probably die of envy. But you only had to think about it for a second: earning more means encountering more monsters, possibly groups of seven, eight, or more. In that case, they would rather not have the money. Adventurers... the most important thing is to stay alive. Many people come to Orario wanting to make a name for themselves, to become a hero. But after truly joining a Familia and participating in a few battles, they immediately learn the bloody truth. That is, the vast majority of people are Lv.1, and it's basically impossible for them to advance.

"Ai-chan, we need to be cautious."

Katou Megumi, seeing Hayasaka Ai's slight excitement, didn't want to dampen her enthusiasm, so she just offered her advice.

"Mn, I know that! Safety first!"

Today, they didn't swing by the Adventurer's Guild, as it was some distance from the dungeon. However, the moment the three of them entered the dungeon, a golden silhouette also appeared quietly. Ais's current strength was Lv.5. On top of that, the bonus to her basic stats from each level-up was quite high, so she was extremely formidable. A typical Lv.5 adventurer was no match for Ais. Seeing Hayasaka Ai's group enter the dungeon, Ais waited a few minutes and then followed them. She had snuck out today, and no one in her Familia knew. If the Loki Familia knew Ais would do such a thing, they would definitely be shocked... and then return to normal. After all, Ais's obsession with getting stronger was intense, as everyone knew.

"BOOM...."

The sound of a stone wall shattering. Just ten minutes after entering the dungeon, Hayasaka Ai and her group encountered their first wave of newly 'spawned' monsters.

After these monsters spawned from the walls, they came with their own weapons. Some monsters are born with natural weapons, like claws. But goblins are short and timid, so they are born with a weapon called a 'wooden club'. Some goblins, after defeating adventurers, will pick up the weapons they drop. For example, yesterday morning, Tsuyuri Kanao killed a goblin that was carrying a dagger.

"Kanao, let me and Megumi go first today!"

"I'll go first. Megumi can take the next wave."

Hayasaka had thought they would immediately run into a group of seven or eight like yesterday, but instead, only three goblins appeared. After yesterday's battle, Hayasaka felt no fear looking at the three small goblins; in fact, she was a little eager.

Hearing Hayasaka's words, Katou Megumi and Kanao immediately stopped the steps they were about to take and stood to the side to watch. Today, Hayasaka was much more skilled than yesterday. The instant she met the goblins, she cut down the one in the lead, leaving it unable to move. With the bonus from her 'Combat Mastery' skill, the other two were also quickly dealt with.

"Ai-chan, your skills have really improved so much! I don't know when I'll be able to be like you."

Katou Megumi, who had been standing to the side, watched Hayasaka cleanly finish off the three goblins. Even she was a little envious.

"Hehe, I have a skill called Combat Mastery. You knew that, right?"

Hayasaka Ai tilted her head slightly, looking at Katou Megumi and Tsuyuri Kanao with a relaxed expression. When she first saw this skill, she hadn't thought it would be very useful. It seemed that her long-term training and studies in her original world, combined with the 'Grace' from Lord Lin Feng solidifying it, had allowed her to slowly master this passive skill. Just now, for example, she had almost been hit, but at the last second, she used the arm guard on her left arm to block the blow. Protecting herself was the top priority. Plus, taking hits from monsters like that would also increase her 'Endurance' stat.

"Let's see which floor we can get to today! This manual says that the quality of monsters on the first few floors doesn't change much. The main difference is in the quantity."

Hayasaka pulled the adventurer's manual Eina had given them from some hidden pocket, opening it as she walked over to Katou Megumi.

"But I don't know if this manual is accurate... After all, yesterday on the first floor, we ran into a situation that should only happen on the lower floors."

Hayasaka was a bit annoyed. Why was their experience different from that of normal adventurers? Could it be that others were playing on 'Easy Mode', while they were on 'Normal' or harder? Suddenly, she thought, The three of us aren't from this world. We're outsiders, summoned by Lord Lin Feng. Could it be because of this? Could it be that they were more likely to provoke a backlash from the dungeon than ordinary people?
