The sun rose, and light filled the room, waking Jack. He was still tired because he had barely slept.
But now, he had to visit that gym.
Maybe he would get stronger there.
Even if it ended up being useless, he needed to get stronger to survive this world.
He put on his shoes slowly and left the house.
Jack asked random people where the gym was. No answer.
"Well, I guess that gym must be unpopular," Jack thought.
It's all useless… i find that gym later---
"No… I have to do it." His voice was filled with determination.
After a couple of minutes, someone finally knew where that place was.
"Yeah, it's not so far away."
Jack went there. The way wasn't long at all.
It was actually faster than he thought.
He entered the gym for one reason: to get stronger.
"Is someone here?"
-No reply.
"Hey! Is someone here? Please!" Jack called louder.
"Kid, don't scream in my gym."
Jack finally got a reply.
He looked around and saw a man a bit Old maybe
50
For his age, he looked pretty strong.
"Why are you even here?" the man asked.
"Because I need to get stronger," Jack said confidently.
"You want to get stronger? For such a simple reason? Kid, there will always be someone stronger than you. So give up"
old man commented.
"No. I won't quit. If you have a problem with that, go kick rocks."
"Fine, fine. But just this one time."
Jack smiled, ready.
"Well, do you even know the basics-"
The man couldn't finish. Jack had already thrown a powerful strike.
It was no use. It was so slow that the man blocked it with one hand.
"That's all you've got?"
The man punched Jack in the stomach, making him fall to his knees.
"F-fuck…"
"Give up already," the old man whispered.
"N-no… even if it hurts, I will overcome it. I have to."
The man simply smirked, knowing that simple strength wasn't the whole reason Jack was here.
"Well, if so… survive."
The man disappeared instantly and attacked from behind.
Jack blocked, though he still got hurt.
The man didn't wait—he rushed in, aiming for an opening.
This time Jack countered with a strike.
"Hm. Not bad, kid. You don't lack technique," the man said as he dodged.
"But your body is so untrained."
The old man ended his sentence and finished Jack with one critical punch.
"Aghh!"
"Y-you're strong…" Jack said.
"Well, yes. I didn't train my body much… but I need to do it fast. So… will you train me?"
The man was quiet, then finally said, "Yes."
A simple answer, but very helpful.
Today, Jack's first real training began.

Jack was sitting in the ring when his trainer—the old man—walked up to him.
"Well? Next spar?"
"No need. I have to go to school."
"Mhm. If so… well, you made pretty good progress. Within these two weeks, you've gotten stronger."
Jack smiled and left.
The whole time, he was coming to the gym after school, because he didn't want to lose his education in this world.
He had been nonstop hiding and escaping danger.
He stayed around teachers just to survive.
But the day finally came.
He couldn't be a pushover anymore.
