After just half an hour of operation, Blue was already finished with creating its copy, and Ludo was left wholly satisfied.
The new copy was just as described, and when he conversed with it, he felt like he was talking with one of the top of the line AI listed by Blue earlier, only much more streamlined and efficient.
After all, in the world of AI development, while 5 years might seem short, so many breakthroughs could be made.
Ludo had already seen that for himself ever since the most notable commercially available AI, ChatCGT, had already seen massive improvements since its public release 3 years prior.
Though it had only started development for 7 years before that.
Ludo didn't have 15 years of development time behind Blue's copy, which he decided to call Blue 1.0 for now, so he had to get creative.
Blue 1.0 wouldn't be sold for now, and Ludo would wait a few months or years before doing so depending on how things went.
Which left him with only a few areas of the market he could snake his way into.
'Marketing it as a multi-purpose AI assistant seems like the way to go…'
Currently, this was what Ludo felt the current marked lacked in at the moment. This wasn't just through his own deliberations either — he'd used Blue to do a deep dive into the current market conditions and see where Earth lacked at the moment, and this was one of the answers he received, alongside others like real time translation, real time responsive video game NPC dialogue etc.
However, compared to the other options out there, he felt like this one had the most potential to bring in money and allow him to gain a foothold in the global market.
He fed his ideas to Blue, but he received some feedback he didn't expect.
[Before we discuss market entry, we must define your public facing capabilities.]
By now, Ludo had already caught Blue up on his plans of launching and expanding his company, starting with Blue itself being the first product.
"My… what?" Ludo questioned confusedly.
[What humans are allowed to know I can do.]
The phrasing Blue used sent a chill down his spine. This thing was so realistic and easy to converse with, he had to keep reminding itself that it wasn't sentient, and that it wasn't going to rebel against him like SkyNet…
"Right." He spoke, coughing to keep his composure.
"I guess we need to decide what's safe to release."
Since he was going with the Multi purpose AI Assistant route, he had to set some limitations on it.
[Your species currently exhibits technological thresholds that must not be exceeded publicly. Releasing certain capabilities would destabilise geopolitical systems, global finance, and several national security infrastructures.]
Ludo swallowed hard, feeling his throat quickly running dry.
Right… He'd forgotten just how powerful Blue really was, even the dumbed down Blue 1.0.
His idea for it to be a Multi purpose assistant was to have it act as an independent app that anyone could download onto their phone, computer, or whatever device, where Blue 1.0 would be able to access all of the user's info at once and be able to deliver any kind of real time analysis and help.
It could write emails for you, generate documents, automate one's workflow, schedule meetings, even do some market trend analysis — for which Ludo was going to restrict.
It could essentially do everything that the current AI on the market could do and more, but instead of having to log in to a website and only be able to use the AI through an internet connection and accessing the company's server on the other end, everything would be built into the app itself.
This was why Blue had already pointed out that some restrictions needed to be put in place.
There were some 'dangerous' features that needed to be removed entirely before it could be shipped off to the public.
Namely, its ability to perform network infiltration…
As well as what Blue called 'Predictive psychological modelling', whatever that was.
"But what about any foul play by competitors? Surely once I ship this out many people will immediately begin to try and jailbreak the software and snoop at its inner workings?"
This was one of Ludo's main concerns — competitors reverse engineering his product and creating their own versions.
Blue didn't seem to see this as a problem though.
[Every Blue 1.0 product that is shipped off will have instructions to delete itself and any related data at the sign of any slight intrusion.]
Well that was convenient, guess that was one problem taken care of.
"Wait, didn't that mean that Blue could create its own firewalls and encryption? Did I scam myself out of 80 credits by buying that Next Gen Encryption Software…?"
[Yes.]
"…"
That question was more to himself than to Blue, but hearing its confirmation left Ludo dispirited.
'My credits…'
'I'll have to do a deep dive into everything Blue is capable of when I have the time… I don't want to buy another piece of software from the Trading Hub only to find out Blue could have made one itself with some effort.'
Ludo doubted he'd be buying anything anytime soon though. He was extremely satisfied with his purchase of Blue.
In fact, some ideas had come to his mind that before activating Blue, he never would have considered…
Pushing Blue 1.0 to the market would be much easier, and much better with Blue's help and input.
For one, Blue had created a stylish looking website and landing page already, without Ludo even needing to ask, as well as setting up all of the necessary back end needed to run a business like this one.
Without him knowing, Blue had already become an integral part of the company, aside from being the product that was being launched to the market. It had saved him tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars of what would have been spent hiring customer service operators, accountants, HR etc.
Blue, the original version, could essentially run the entire company by itself.
And by the end of the day, it had already completed everything he needed to begin operating as an actual company.
