Chapter 2 - The Warrior and the village

"In just two 2 days the plague hunted down 15 soldier's and only six remained."

They searched for the warrior deep within the jungle, in the rainstorm, In the darken caves , in the heights of the mountains.

They finally arrived at a deserted area.

"A virana"---where not even a single animal could be found, only the bleached bones of the dead.

Then, one of the remaining soldiers spotted a hut, constructed of dry grass.

At first, they couldn't believe their eyes: How could a shack exist in such an absolute wilderness?

It must be a mirage, they thought.

But then, another soldier broke the silence and said: "We must go there and investigate what's the matter.

As they enter inside the hut, they saw a defeated man whose eyes were swollen from weeping.

His sword lay on the dirt floor, abandoned for eating dust.

Then two warrior's entered small shack.

"It's not him." He said With trembling voice

It was a humongous man almost 7 feet with large beard, and almost a monster build.

Sunlight was coming in through a broken window behind him.

Hey, big guy are....

Are you from that Village where plague started.

They were scared, but they advanced nonetheless.

"Go away, he said With grunting voice.'

They paused annd Stare eachother.

"Everything is finished now. He said while standing."

The ones I loved, the ones I grew up with—my parents, my family, my friends—my lovely Soumya they are all dead. That plague has swallowed them whole.

Everything I love, Everyone I cared all are now dead.

All of you, please go now. I don't want to talk to anybody.

Leave me alone!

But We have some business with you;they said.

After that he suddenly got angry and he picked up a soldier by his neck and slammed him against the Wall.

As the giant warrior came out to kill the remaining soldiers, one of them cried, "We have the cure for the curse!" The warrior was already panting heavily, and he suddenly collapsed, falling unconscious to the Earth.

"It was the 8,000th day of the Dark Century. The giant warrior was riding his elephant, heading to his village to meet his family. He was singing and playing music as he rode, and his elephant was swaying happily along with him.

As the warrior drew closer to the village, he started hearing the sounds of women weeping.

He quickly moved toward the village."

"When he reached the village, a woman was sitting there with her child and crying; everyone was sharing in her sorrow.

A small child had died, vomiting blood.

The giant warrior, absorbing the grief, moved toward his house."

When his family saw him, they were happy, but the grief over the small child's death was felt by everyone.

He touched his father's feet. His father, the Samant, embraced him, but because of his massive body, he couldn't fully wrap his arms around him.

When he saw his mother, he picked her up in his arms out of sheer joy. He was overjoyed to see them.

"Stop, stop, that's enough! I'm getting dizzy now," she said happily.

"Go, go meet Somya; she is waiting for you," she added.

Then the warrior went toward his room and opened the door. His wife was standing right in front of the doorway. Seeing her, it was as if a sea of desire flooded the warrior, "He planted a kiss on Soumya and held her close in his embrace."he closed the door and he began to taste the fruit of Somya's 'Madhuban'.

And nighttime drew near.

"In the evening, a little distance from the village, he was waiting for his friends.

'Hey, Virat!' a young man called out.

'Hey, my buddy Lakhan!' Saying this, the two embraced. Slowly, a gathering of eight friends was formed, and they danced and sang in celebration of Virat's return. By now, it was night.

Lakhan and virat are talking about family and responsibilities, war and peace.

While the conversation was still going on,

Suddenly, Lakhan collapsed. Seeing him, Virat rushed toward him.

'What happened, lakhan?' tension was visible in Virat's eyes. Just then, blood flowed from Lakhan's eyes, and finally, his eyes became lifeless.

'Lakhan! Lakhan!' A flood of grief washed over Virat and his friends.

They carried his body toward the village, but the scene in the village had completely changed. People were rushing and running everywhere in a panic. The bodies of many people lay in a line on the ground.

Just then, another one of Virat's friends fell, then a second, then a third. Virat tried to wake up everyone, but it was too late."

"He quickly ran toward his house. He saw his father lying on the ground. His mother, who had been cooking, was also lying near the stove.

He embraced the bodies of both his parents, and clouds of sorrow darkened the sky.

He called out for his wife, but there was no one to answer."

"The 8,000th day of the Dark Century passed."

"The next day, when it was counted how many people had died, their number was 1000"

When the village astrologer was asked why this happened and what the cause of this pandemic was, he said that all of this happened because of the boy who was born on the first day of the Dark Century.

He also said that this entire pandemic began when he came to this village.

And that person was none other than Virat.

And everyone shared the exact same question: 'How is this guy untouched by this pandemic?'"

The villagers denounced him, cursed him, and hurled insults at him. Some people called him monster and others are shouting that he is demon in disguise.

No one considered that he too had lost everything.

And they chased him out of the village.

After walking for many days, Virat, hungry and thirsty, in the memories of his family and friends went into the wilderness and began to await his end."

"Whatever happens, it simply happens neither good nor bad."
