Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: “She Can Be the Second Wife Too”

The next day,

Bulma, Chi-Chi, and little Goku crowded onto the Nimbus and flew to Frypan Mountain.

They went almost full speed,

so in just an hour they arrived.

The heat from the flames nearby was brutal.

All three were drenched in sweat.

Chi-Chi spotted the Ox-King first and jumped off the Nimbus.

"Dad, I'm back!"

Seeing the Nimbus, the Ox-King lit up.

"Wow, Chi-Chi, you're amazing!

You found Master Roshi that fast and even brought back his Nimbus!"

Chi-Chi hurried to explain,

"N-no, Dad. I didn't find Master Roshi. The Nimbus is Bulma's.

They saved me last night. You need to thank them properly."

Bulma and Goku stepped down as she spoke.

The Ox-King saw it wasn't Roshi riding the Nimbus,

but a boy and a girl he didn't know, and he was puzzled.

"Huh? What's going on?

Why are you riding my teacher's Nimbus?

Where did you get it?"

Bulma said, "Master Roshi gave it to us."

The Ox-King deflated.

"Aw, you got my hopes up for nothing.

So Teacher didn't come… that's a shame.

But if he gave you the Nimbus,

you must know where he is, right?"

Bulma nodded. "Yeah."

Chi-Chi grabbed the Ox-King's arm and told him Bulma's request.

"Dad, Bulma said she can help put out the fire.

In exchange, you give her a Dragon Ball."

"Dragon Ball?"

The Ox-King scratched his head. He had no idea what that was.

Bulma took out one of her Dragon Balls.

"Mr. Ox-King, this is a Dragon Ball.

My radar says there should be one in your castle."

The Ox-King stared, then seemed to remember.

"Oh, that thing?

Yeah, I've seen it.

No problem. If you help me borrow the Bancho Fan from Teacher to put out the fire,

then once we can get back in the castle,

I'll give that ball to you."

Bulma's lips curved faintly.

"Then it's a deal."

"Deal!"

Bulma looked at Goku.

"Goku, try a Kamehameha first.

If you can't put the fire out, I'll go find Roshi."

"Okay!" Goku replied.

Hearing "Kamehameha," the Ox-King was shocked.

"Wait—you mean Teacher's Kamehameha?

You can use it?"

Goku nodded. "Yeah, I can."

The Ox-King was thrilled.

"When I trained under Master Roshi, I never managed to learn Kamehameha.

I can't believe you learned it at your age!

Your talent must be incredible.

Teacher would be ecstatic to have a student like you!"

Goku shook his head.

"I haven't taken a master.

Grandpa taught me kung fu and ki."

"Your grandpa taught you?"

As he said that, the Ox-King noticed Goku's Power Pole.

"Hey… that staff—is it the Power Pole?"

Goku nodded.

"Yeah. Grandpa gave it to me. His name is Son Gohan."

The Ox-King's eyes went wide.

"Son Gohan?!

So you're his grandson!"

He burst out laughing.

"Hahaha! Then we're family!

Your grandpa is Teacher's eldest disciple, I'm the second.

And you're Gohan's grandson—

we're super close!"

Then he looked at Chi-Chi.

"Ah right, I almost forgot.

Chi-Chi said you saved her last night?"

Bulma and Goku exchanged a look.

Seems like this was going to be another "gift-giving" situation like Roshi's.

They both nodded.

"Yes, we saved her."

The Ox-King pulled Chi-Chi forward confidently.

"Then this is fate!

Goku, Chi-Chi is cute, right?"

Goku didn't understand what he was getting at.

"Uh… yeah, Chi-Chi is cute."

At "cute," Chi-Chi's face went crimson.

Bulma's expression, on the other hand, started to go bad.

Because she suddenly remembered something.

The Ox-King continued,

"Then how about this—you and Chi-Chi are about the same age.

Let's make our relationship even closer.

I'll arrange a childhood engagement for you two.

When you grow up, you'll get married. How's that?"

"Dad, stop…" Chi-Chi covered her face shyly.

But her big eyes tried hard to peek through her fingers at Goku,

waiting for his reaction.

Watching the Ox-King sell Chi-Chi so aggressively,

Goku was stunned.

Was his marriage to Chi-Chi really destined by heaven?

While Goku was pondering existence,

Bulma screamed over the Ox-King.

"No!"

The Ox-King, Chi-Chi, and Goku all froze and looked at her.

Seeing Bulma's looks and figure—also top-tier—

the Ox-King understood first.

"Ohhh, I get it.

I smell a big jar of vinegar!

You want to marry Goku yourself later, don't you?"

Bulma's mouth twitched.

"N-no, that's not it…"

Halfway through denying it,

she realized—

why was she denying anything?

He wasn't wrong.

Before she could explain, the Ox-King laughed even harder.

"Alright, alright, I can tell you're jealous.

You definitely like Goku too.

It's fine. You can be the main wife.

When Chi-Chi grows up, she can marry Goku as the second wife.

Just don't bully Chi-Chi, okay?

My wife Iron Fan and my concubine Jade Face used to fight all the time.

I had no choice but to send them away to live elsewhere."

Bulma's face went black.

"I thought you didn't have a wife.

So you actually married two brides?"

The Ox-King patted his chest proudly.

"Of course.

If I didn't have to worry about taking care of Chi-Chi,

I'd marry a third!"

Bulma: "…"

Seeing Bulma's face, the Ox-King added,

"Don't worry— even the King doesn't dare control me!

Anyone who opposes me, I kill!"

Goku immediately said seriously,

"Uncle Ox-King, killing people like that is wrong!

Your reputation is already bad,

and it hurts the Turtle School's name.

I think you really shouldn't do that."
