"... I'm getting ready to go to school after the recent crazy adventures, I ended up giving up on using the phrase [don't worry, I, Ayane Fujisawa, have come to save you] because that phrase reveals my name.
I have to think of a good phrase to use when appearing to save people, I really want to think of something good and hopeful.
"..." I hear a slight flapping sound and automatically cheer up a little, I know what that sound is.
"Septarion!" I say, looking around and finding a pure white owl with slight black details, this owl is the one who offered me a contract to become a magical girl.
He said he's an angel on a noble mission to convert girls into magical girls to defend the world from monsters, all the magical girls in the world have met Septarion and accepted the deal for some reason.
"Hello, Ayane, I've come to tell you about a group of magical girls for you to join, since you're not ready to fight alone yet," he says in a gentle, concerned voice, not belittling my strength, but rather worrying about my safety.
"S-Septarion...I...ended up going out to try to defeat monsters on my own..." I say dejectedly. Septarion had told me to avoid doing that when I became a magical girl, which was just recently.
Because my magic isn't very suitable for combat while I haven't trained with it and become strong enough.
But he had to go take care of some things, so he left me with a warning to wait, but I swore I could at least help one person, so I still tried to go defeat monsters and almost got raped or killed.
Septarion made it clear what the monsters do to girls and said they are terrible and cruel beings, I almost gave up on accepting the deal when he said that, but the desire to make my family proud and protect people was so great that I accepted.
"You went out as a magical girl alone? And you're okay? You didn't get hurt, right?" He says, all worried. He's so kind. As far as I know, Septarion is the only angel on Earth, and he's found several girls around the world to transform into magical girls.
Since he's the only one in the whole world taking care of the magical girls, he doesn't have much time to spend with all of them, but he said he was captivated by my determination to help, and that's why I'm one of the ones he visits the most because he hopes for a promising future from me.
This leaves me a little embarrassed, after all, an angel saying he expects great things from me is something incredible.
"No, I found a monster and fought with it...but...I-I lost, I couldn't win alone."
"!!!" Septarion is shocked.
"B-But don't worry! I was saved by someone!" I say quickly to relieve his concern. Septarion sighs in relief, his worry is palpable.
"That's good, and what was this magical girl like who saved you?"
"Well...I can't really say, I didn't see her. She defeated the monster from a distance with a single blow! She's really strong."
"Hmm, that's right, there are few magical girls who can attack from a distance and are strong enough to eliminate a monster with a single long-range attack since magic is closely tied to the type of person you are and your feelings," Septarion says, somewhat impressed.
"Septarion, sorry, but I need to go to school," I say hurriedly, looking at the wall clock. I can't be late or I'll get in trouble, and I don't want to get in trouble.
"Okay, Ayane, I can go with you. Nobody besides the magical girls can see me, so there's no problem," Septarion says as he hops onto my shoulder. He's not very big, and I don't feel any weight.
So I quickly grab my phone and check the messages. I still haven't made any friends, but I've started talking to some girls in the class, and I'm sure we'll become great friends soon.
"Huh?" I see a notification from the school. This is rare, as they usually don't use notifications this way, since they prefer to handle everything at the school itself, and only inform about events or important things by phone.
"W-W-What! She got 100% on the test!" I say, shocked by what I read.
"Ayane, is something wrong?" Septarion tilts his head, confused by my surprised voice.
"No, it's just that there was a girl who managed to get into the school through the test, even after the official admission, and she got 100% on the test. That's insane. Haha, I only got a little above 50%, and that was knowing the topic."
"But this girl didn't even know the topic, and she still managed to get everything right. She's incredible," I say with a certain admiration. She's very impressive, and it seems like she'll be in my class.
'...that's kind of cruel,' I continue reading and see that the school has provided very personal information, such as two "issues" she has and where she's from. I think the school shouldn't be doing this kind of thing, exposing this girl like that. It's cruel to her feelings.
"I wonder if she needs a friend?" I question, already thinking if she'll want to be my friend. One of her issues makes her feel little to no emotions, and the other makes her have a aversion to physical contact beyond a certain level.
It must be horrible to live with these limitations, and yet she's so brilliant. She deserves all the best, and I hope no one causes her problems just because of her origins and issues.
"Septarion, shall we go?" I put away my phone, leaving this topic aside for now, and gathered my things to leave.
"Yes, we can go. I'll come with you because there are two magical girls in your class, and they're part of the large group of magical girls I'm going to introduce you to, so it's good for you all to get to know each other."
"Oh, really!? I didn't know I had magical girl companions so close by." I say, surprised, as I lock the front door and put the key away.
"Yes, and later we can introduce you all more officially. For now, just hurry up, I'd feel bad if I made you late because of me," Septarion says as I start to jog lightly to school.
I pay close attention to the streets before crossing, following traffic rules and regulations, while properly arranging my school uniform and the materials I like to bring with me.
And after a good, long walk, I arrive at the school, using my ID to pass through the gate. Honestly, I can hardly believe I got into this incredible school. It's like a whole other world here.
Although a bit strict with some rules, it's still an amazing place. I promised my family I'd get into this school, and I really miss Mom and Dad.
Maybe that's one of the biggest motivations for not wanting to stay home too much. I feel lonely in my house like something is always missing, and it's kind of uncomfortable.
I wish they were still here with me. I wish I could hear their congratulations for getting into the school of my dreams. I wish I could have said goodbye properly, and above all, I wish they hadn't left.
'I shouldn't think about that or I'll start crying...' It would be strange to cry at school, so I try to stay positive. Now I'm someone who would make my parents proud, besides being a student at this school, I'm also a magical girl who will save many people.
I walk through the beautiful school grounds. It's really a lovely and very large place, but I shouldn't get too distracted. If I'm not quick, I'll end up being late.
Arriving at the classroom, I open the door and see several students already waiting for the teacher to arrive. I sit at my desk and see 2 girls looking at the owl on my shoulder they must be the magical girls.
"Ayane, that girl there is Hinageshi Akari, she's a magical girl," Septarion says about the girl with long, dark reddish-brown hair tied up in a high ponytail with black ribbons. She has amber-colored eyes with a sharp gaze.
Her height is around 166 centimeters, making her tall and beautiful with an athletic build, medium bust, and a firm posture.
"Ayane, her magical girl outfit is a uniform inspired by light Japanese armor, with shades of red, burgundy, and black, with stylized plates and a short side skirt. Along with long gloves and boots, practical but elegant," Septarion describes her attire, even though I don't know why.
"She would pair well with you as an ally. Her weapon is a short naginata, and her magic is fire-based, simple but powerful, which matches you since she focuses more on combat."
"The other magical girl is Hoshikawa Nozomi, I'll explain her to you later. You should go sit down before you draw too much attention," Septarion says as I sit at my desk as he suggests.
'Cool...they seem so incredible. I'm sure we can be great friends,' I think with some hope. I've never seen other magical girls before, so I'm truly excited.
But soon the teacher for this class arrives, his name is Tenkawa Haruto. He's 33 years old and seems quite cold and strict overall, but I can't judge someone I barely know, so maybe he just doesn't know how to express himself well.
"Okay, students, today we'll have a special addition to our class. I don't need to inform you again that a student from this class was transferred to another, as you were already notified by phone."
"Without much further ado, I'll introduce the new student who entered through the test after the admission exam."
"You can come in," the teacher says, looking at the door, which soon opens, and an incredibly beautiful girl enters, making the boys get excited and earning the envious glares of some girls.
She writes her name on the board and turns to everyone with a smile, or rather, an attempt at a smile. Even though it's well-executed, it doesn't convey any emotion, being simply a cold, expressionless smile.
"Nice to meet you all, I'm Setsuna Shū," she introduces herself, briefly glancing around the room and stopping her gaze on me.
'Huh? Is she looking at me?' She seems to be looking directly into my eyes, and I see a strange, unsettling flash in her gaze that disappears just as quickly before she turns her eyes to my shoulder.
'Is she seeing Septarion?' I'm shocked. She's clearly looking straight at the owl on my shoulder. Septarion himself seems to have noticed, but it all happens so quickly and briefly that when I realize it, she's no longer looking at me.
"W-What was that?" This exchange was so strange that I murmur, confused, as the new student says something to the teacher, probably about the desk she'll be sitting at.
