Harry, Hermione, and Ron followed them to the bathroom, and when they saw Morn standing there unharmed, they breathed a sigh of relief.
"Mount, are you alright?" Harry quickly walked up to Moun, looking him up and down to make sure he wasn't hurt. His voice was full of concern.
"We were so worried when we saw you run out!" His voice trembled slightly, clearly still shaken. He gripped Moen's arm tightly, his eyes filled with worry and concern.
Just now, he was filled with fear and anxiety, and he was very afraid that something might happen to his friend in front of the troll.
"Mount, are you hurt?" Hermione's voice became urgent, her worry completely overpowering her anger.
"Why did you rush over here alone! This is too dangerous, what if, what if... I really..."
She wanted to say more words of blame, but after seeing the calm and happiness in Moen's eyes, she couldn't bring herself to say them.
"We should have acted together. I admit I was too willful this time, and I promise this will never happen again." Hermione's guilt outweighed her anger.
Ron finally snapped out of his shock and said apologetically, "I'm sorry, Moen. It's all my fault for being so impulsive. I shouldn't have argued with Hermione." He looked at Moen with a guilty expression. "Thank you for saving Hermione. Really, thank you so much."
He scratched his head, rubbing his hands nervously like a child who had done something wrong.
Moen felt their heartfelt care, and a warm feeling washed over him.
He knew he was not alone.
He gave a faint smile. "I'm fine."
"I'm not hurt. Don't blame yourselves too much." His voice sounded calm and gentle.
"Just remember not to be so reckless next time. Next time we should act together." His words also revealed his concern for his partner.
At this moment, Professor Snape arrived late.
He walked into the restroom, but his steps were somewhat unsteady.
Although he concealed it well, Harry could still see that he seemed to be injured, and there was a faint look of pain on his face.
"Professor Snape is here too? He really is..." Moen sighed silently to himself.
He glanced quickly at Harry, signaling him not to say it for the time being.
Professor McGonagall, regaining her senses, was furious, her voice stern: "Look at this mess! Mohn, how could you be so impulsive? You've gone too far! You shouldn't have come here at all!"
Her tone was serious, but tinged with concern. A hint of weariness flashed in her eyes; she felt like she was being driven crazy by the students in front of her.
Seeing the determination and courage shown by his students in protecting their friends filled him with both pride and worry.
"Professor McGonagall, it's not Moen's fault!" Hermione stepped forward and said firmly, her voice clear yet tinged with self-reproach. "It's all my fault. If I hadn't lost my temper, they wouldn't have run out with Moen. It's all my fault!"
She looked up, her eyes filled with guilt, tears blurring her vision, her voice choked with sobs, "It was all my fault! I shouldn't have argued with my friend, and I shouldn't have been so reckless and run off, leaving Moen to face the troll alone. If he hadn't arrived in time, the consequences... I can't even imagine."
She kept her head down, her tone sincere and uneasy.
"Thank you, Moen." Her tone became unusually earnest, every word coming from the heart, every word clear and sincere. She was genuinely grateful to Moen for saving her.
Harry added, "Moane rushed out because he was worried about Hermione, and Hermione was just angry for a moment."
Harry's voice was deep and firm, and his green eyes looked at Mohn and Hermione with a friendly light.
He cherishes every friend and partner around him.
After listening to Harry and Hermione's account, Professor McGonagall looked up at Dumbledore, who had remained silent throughout.
After Dumbledore gave her a signal, she took a deep breath, forced herself to calm down, and softened her tone considerably.
"You little troublemakers are so infuriating!"
A faint smile played on her lips, yet it betrayed her inner worry and affection. She turned her gaze to Moen, sighing inwardly, "I've decided that, as punishment for your impulsive actions this time, I'll deduct five points from each of you!"
She scanned the four faces, her gaze pausing slightly when it landed on Hermione's. "However, given Mr. Moen's outstanding performance, his effective thwarting of the troll's threat, and his successful protection of Hermione, I have decided to award him thirty points!"
"Alright, students, it's getting late. Please go back to your dorms and rest." Dumbledore still had a smile on his face. He glanced at all the students, but finally fixed his gaze on Moen, his eyes full of encouragement and trust. He hoped that Moen could go further and further on the path of magic.
He didn't expose Moen's lie or press him further about the trolls. Perhaps some things should be left for the young people to handle themselves, after all, the future belongs to them!
Mohn, Harry, Hermione, and Ron left the bathroom.
When they arrived at the Gryffindor common room, the other students were already asleep, and only a few dim wall lamps were lit in the empty room.
The air was filled with the aroma of toasted bread and peanuts.
Harry immediately ran to the sofa and sat down.
Ron ran over and brought out a large piece of pumpkin cake, cut it into four pieces, and placed them in front of everyone with his distinctive smile on his face.
They protected each other in their own way, and with their company, Moen felt much calmer.
They chatted casually about various things, including magic, Quidditch, and of course, mostly about their complaints and self-blame for the day.
Moen only gave a brief explanation of the battle, his heart filled with worry about what was about to happen and a desire for his own strength!
Harry seemed particularly interested in his fight with the troll. "I thought it was so cool when you used the Levitation Charm, making the stick just disappear into thin air!" he described the scene vividly.
"You're amazing!"
"Was my action that obvious?" Moen asked with some surprise, but a look of relief appeared on his face.
"Of course!" Ron affirmed Harry's statement without hesitation, nodding repeatedly in agreement, his tone filled with amazement and excitement. "Just now, I think I saw time stop! How did you do that? It was so cool!" His eyes were full of envy, and at the same time, he felt guilty for his own weakness.
"No, maybe you're just mistaken!" Moen gave a shy smile. "That's just my imagination. Actually, it's not like that at all." He quickly explained.
He knew he couldn't reveal too much yet and had to hide as much as possible, otherwise he wouldn't be able to retaliate effectively later. This was crucial for his future struggle against Voldemort, so caution was paramount.
Hermione, having calmed down by now, said, "You seemed a little strange when you used magic." Although her voice was relatively calm, a subtle hint of unease and worry could still be detected.
"No matter what, thank you so much for today!" She still felt a little guilty.
"Yes, I admit I was wrong this time," she apologized again. "I shouldn't have only thought about my own feelings, even though you were all doing it for my own good! I..." She lowered her head, softly blaming herself, "If there's another chance, I won't let everyone worry like this again!"
Looking at Hermione's guilty face, Moen felt a pang of emotion; her mind was so delicate.
"You're not wrong. Today's events are all that giant's fault." He smiled.
Hermione's actions lessened his guilt considerably.
He could sense Hermione's deep unease and remorse, but he didn't know how to comfort her.
He simply gave a warm smile.
He understood that Hermione wouldn't stop there; she would never give up her study and pursuit of magic because of a temporary setback. That was Hermione.
After chatting for a while, they each returned to their own dormitories.
Moen lay in bed, his mind still filled with a multitude of thoughts.
The events of today left him feeling incredibly exhausted, but they also strengthened his resolve to become stronger.
He knew the future was full of dangers, and he had to seize the time to improve his strength so that he could better protect himself and his friends.
