Chapter 8 - Chapter 7 — The Unexpected Reunion

Ray had faced monsters, magical beasts, and women ready to duel each other over who got to sit closest to him…But nothing—absolutely nothing—had prepared him for this.

The Guild doors burst open with a bang.

"RAYMOND ELLIS CARTER!"

Only one person in the universe said his name like that.

Ray froze.

Sierra, who had been clinging to his arm, blinked. "Uh… Ray? Why do you look like you've seen a ghost?"

He swallowed."Because I basically did."

Two figures marched inside with the determination of invaders claiming new territory.

His Mother. And His Sister.

Helen Carter, his mother, walked in first—tall, elegant, hair in a tight bun, wearing what looked like battle-hardened travel clothes… and a face that could make dragons apologize.

Behind her came Mia Carter, Ray's younger sister—energetic, expressive, armed with a backpack larger than herself and eyes sparkling with trouble.

Ray stood up so fast he nearly flipped the table.

"M-Mom?! Mia?! How—why—what are you doing in Arielia!?"

Helen crossed her arms. "You died in our world, sweetheart. Did you really think a little thing like death was going to stop me from keeping an eye on you?"

Mia grinned. "Plus, Mom got soooo mad when the Goddess said you'd been reincarnated into a world with ninety percent women. She demanded to be transferred here too."

Sierra whispered to him, "Your world sounds terrifying…"

Ray nodded painfully. "You have no idea."

Helen scanned the room—and her eyes stopped on Sierra.

"And who," she asked with glacial calm, "is this girl holding onto your arm?"

Sierra instantly straightened like a soldier. "S-Sierra Maelin, first official party member of Ray! He saved my life and I—"

Helen narrowed her eyes.

Sierra nearly fainted.

Mia, meanwhile, bounced excitedly around them."So THIS is the harem world! Oh my gosh, this is amazing! Ray, are you popular here? Do girls fight for you? Does anyone try to marry you? Did you get kidnapped yet?"

"MIA, PLEASE," Ray begged.

Too late. She was already waving at nearby adventurers.

"HI! I'm Ray's sister! Please be nice to him, he's fragile!"

"I AM NOT!"

Sierra covered her mouth, trying not to laugh.

Ray's aura flickered.

[COMEDIC ATTRACTION AURA ACTIVATED]

Women nearby: 15% more interested.

Wonderful. Fantastic. Just what he needed.

Helen stepped closer and grabbed Ray's cheeks like he was still twelve.

"My sweet boy, don't worry. Now that your mother is here, no woman will lay a finger on you without my approval."

The entire Guild went silent.

Sierra whispered, horrified, "Ray… your mother is stronger than the Guildmaster."

"I KNOW," he hissed back.

Before Ray could explain—or escape—Helen said:

"Well then. Introduce us properly. I want to know every girl who thinks she has the right to stand within three meters of my son."

Sierra blushed so hard she nearly steamed.

Mia giggled. "This is going to be fun!"

Ray placed a hand over his face.

He had survived monsters, bandits, and magical catastrophes.

But now?

Now he had to survive his own family in a world built to chase him.

And he wasn't sure which was worse.
