Chapter 883 - An Evening of Voices

The sun slowly disappeared beyond the horizon of the Veyris Empire.

Golden light painted the skies.

The Dream Root Pathways glowed softly beneath reality.

The World Trees shimmered peacefully.

For once.

there were no wars.

No invading rulers.

No cosmic disasters.

Just family.

Beneath the largest World Tree, Kael Veyris sat comfortably upon a stone bench.

Around him gathered many of the people closest to him.

Ashvattha sat nearby with the Universe Tree.

Verdelia quietly listened to conversations.

Eldara remained watchful despite the peaceful atmosphere.

Aeon and Virelya discussed ancient history.

Marigold spoke with Luxryth Solaris.

Zeraphiel and Akra debated training methods.

Ashenback and Anemone admired the evening sky.

Kaelithra Veylscara sat beside a shadow-covered tree.

Lilith and Nyx discussed old mysteries.

Umbryssia enjoyed a rare moment of relaxation.

Seraphina, Aetheria, Cosmyra, Eternya, Yunara, Kitsune Reina, Shiori Amateru, Ayakari, Tsukiyora, Elowen, Abyssia, Genesisra, Oblivira, Infinitra, Nullara, Ignivar, Valthera, Elysia, Lycanthra, Korynthia, the Eldritch Chaos Sovereign, Sanguinara Dracoryx, and the Primordial Outer Goddess all shared stories from countless ages.

The entire garden felt alive.Soon, Kael's daughters arrived.

Kaelignis Veyris.

Lyra's Kaelry.

Elyrion Veythera.

Veyloria Kaelthera.

Seralyth Veyris.

Kaelignis immediately sat beside her father.

"I defeated three dragon knights today."

Kael nodded.

"Good work."

Her face brightened instantly.

Elyrion stepped forward holding several books.

"I found records from before the Dream Root Pathways were discovered."

Kael looked at the stack.

"How many books?"

"Twenty-three."

Everyone nearby stared.

Elyrion smiled proudly.Seralyth sat beside Ashvattha.

"Do World Trees ever get lonely?"

The question surprised everyone.

Ashvattha thought for a moment.

"Sometimes."

The Universe Tree smiled softly.

"But that's why we have each other."

Verdelia nodded immediately.

"And now we have all of you too."

Seralyth smiled.Then.

Ignisia arrived.

The Flame Dragon Empress immediately walked straight toward Kael.

Ignoring almost everyone else.

Marigold laughed.

"There she goes again."

Ignisia sat beside Kael.

Very close beside Kael.

"Hello."

Kael nodded.

"Hello."

A few moments passed.

Ignisia looked at him again.

"How was your day?"

"Peaceful."

"Mine too."

Another pause.

Then Ignisia spoke again.

"Did you eat?"

"Yes."

"Good."

A few seconds later.

Did you sleep enough?

Kael looked at her.

Probably.

That's not an answer.

Several nearby wives began laughing.Ignisia continued.

"Did you remember to rest?"

"Maybe."

"Maybe?"

"Maybe."

Ignisia sighed dramatically.

You are impossible.

Kael smiled slightly.

You ask a lot of questions.

I know.

And yet you keep answering.

That earned a small laugh from Kael.

Ignisia immediately looked victorious.Genesisra sat nearby watching everything.

The Primordial Creation Empress smiled.

He laughs more now.

Ashvattha nodded.

He does.

The Universe Tree smiled.

"The Empire changed him."Marigold looked toward Ignisia.

"I think she's asked him thirty questions in the last hour."

Luxryth laughed.

"Only thirty?"

Even Nyx smiled. As evening deepened, the daughters gathered around Kael.

Kaelignis talked about becoming a legendary dragon knight.

Lyra wanted to discover unknown worlds beyond the Dream Root Pathways.

Elyrion wanted to uncover forgotten history.

Veyloria wanted to improve the Empire's governance.

Seralyth wanted to learn everything about the World Trees.

Kael listened to each dream carefully.

Not as an emperor.

As a father.

When they finished speaking, Kael nodded.

"Then pursue those dreams."

The daughters smiled.

Those simple words meant more to them than any treasure. As darkness covered the Empire, conversations continued beneath the glowing branches.

Lilith and Nyx shared stories.

Ashvattha and the Universe Tree discussed the Root Network.

Marigold laughed with Luxryth.

Akra challenged Zeraphiel to another contest.

Verdelia slowly gained confidence speaking to others.

Genesisra created tiny galaxies above the table to entertain nearby children.

And Ignisia?

She remained beside Kael.

Still talking.

Still asking questions.

Still enjoying every moment she could spend with him.

Eventually Ignisia rested her head against his shoulder.

The conversation slowed.

The stars brightened.

The World Trees glowed.

And beneath the peaceful night sky of the Veyris Empire.

family, friendship, and quiet happiness filled the air.

For another evening, there was nothing to fight.

Nothing to save.

Nothing to conquer.

Only voices.

Laughter.

Dreams.

And a future worth protecting
