The first worlds it encountered disappeared.

Then multiversal clusters.
Reality after reality vanished into its endless hunger.
The gods of countless dimensions watched in fear.
"It is eating the foundations of creation…"
"It has already consumed entire hyperversal regions."
"How can anything stop it?"
The Devouring Abyss continued forward.
Its goal was clear.
Consume the Hyperverse.
Then consume what existed beyond.
The Outerverse.
The creature reached the boundary.
A place where normal understanding began to fail.
The Hyperverse contained endless dimensional structures.
Layers upon layers of reality.
Infinite combinations of space and time.
But the Outerverse was different.
It was not simply another higher dimension.
It was beyond the need for dimensions.
No ordinary time.
No ordinary space.
No conventional reality.
No physical laws.
No requirement for existence to be measured by distance or moments.
The Devouring Abyss approached.
"I have consumed universes."
"I have consumed multiverses."
"I have consumed hyperversal structures."
"I will consume this as well."
Silence.
The Outerverse did not answer.
Because the Outerverse was not a place waiting to be conquered.
It was a state beyond the concepts the creature used to understand reality.
The being attempted to consume it.
But something strange happened.
Nothing.
Its power could devour dimensions.
But the Outerverse was not dependent on dimensions.
It could consume time.
But the Outerverse did not rely on time.
It could consume space.
But the Outerverse did not require space.
The Devouring Abyss became confused.
"Impossible…"
"I cannot consume what has no structure."
Then…
A presence appeared.
A presence known throughout endless creation.
Kael Veyris.
The Architect of Existence.
He stood calmly before the Devouring Abyss.
"You have misunderstood something."
The creature turned toward him.
"You created these realities."
"You think you stand above them."
Kael looked toward the endless Outerverse.
"No."
"I understand them."
The Devouring Abyss released its power.
A force capable of erasing countless realities.
The surrounding existence trembled.
But Kael remained still.
"You consume because you believe everything is something that can be taken."
Kael raised his hand.
"But existence is not only something that can be destroyed."
"It is something that can be understood."
The creature attacked.
Kael did not move.
The attack reached him.
And disappeared.
Not blocked.
Not destroyed.
Simply unable to affect him.
The Devouring Abyss finally understood.
It was not fighting a stronger enemy.
It was fighting someone who understood the rules behind the battle itself.
Kael looked at the being.
"You have power."
"But you have no purpose."
The creature remained silent.
For the first time…
Its hunger stopped.
Far away…
The Universe Tree watched.
"The Outerverse cannot be conquered by force."
"Because it is beyond the ideas that force depends upon."
The World Tree whispered.
"Even endless hunger has limits."
Kael turned away.
The Outerverse remained unchanged.
Not because it was defended.
Not because it fought back.
But because it existed beyond the things the Devouring Abyss tried to use against it.
And once again…
The Architect of Existence protected creation.
Not through destruction.
But through understanding.
