Aurora's POV
I looked up at something I could hardly describe. The intimidating aura was similar to the feeling I got when I glanced at Salem's blade.
"Who the hell are these people?"
"Move!" Kane yanked my hand as we scattered through the forest.
At this point, the whole camp was in disarray from Jew's outrage. He cut through them like butter, dismembering high-ranking members like they were nothing.
I was following mindlessly until I caught a scent that froze me in place.
"What are you doing?! Aurora, we have to go."
My neck snapped sideways to the source. He looked different — it had been ten years, but to me it was barely a month.
"Alphonso," I snarled. My chest ignited with rage as I recalled his betrayal.
He denied me. He left me to die. For what? Power? Wealth? Was it truly worth it to him? Did I mean nothing?
"Hey!" Kane grabbed me. I had no idea I was already walking toward him.
