Chapter 19 - Please Don’t Report Me, Sir! I’ll Do Anything You Want.

Upon receiving direct reassurance from a government official, the Solito team left the station without thinking twice.

Seeing everyone leave, the director's expression changed dramatically.

Before Yun could even understand what was going on, the director had already started yelling at her.

"Go deal with Mr Leo immediately! Do you even know what'll happen if he talks to the media about what you did?"

Yun didn't look particularly worried.

"Nothing will happen. It's just a one-sided complaint. Besides, he was harming a group of defenseless people, and I knocked him out by accident. The whole situation can be explained easily: Leo Crane was physically assaulting several vulnerable citizens, the police caught him in the act, and he fainted during the chaos."

"Haha! Don't think you can escape this so easily. If you don't apologize properly and get him to forgive you, you'll be on unpaid leave for a month."

"But…"

"No 'but,' Yun Wonyoung! Go do what I said!"

A look of disappointment appeared on the porcelain-like face of the female officer named Yun, and she left the room.

When the director saw Yun's expression, an unpleasant shift happened beneath his desk.

While Yun walked toward the holding cells, she picked up the phone on her desk and called her secretary.

The director's secretary was a beauty in her mid-twenties, though completely unnatural compared to Yun.

The secretary entered the room, pulled the curtains over the glass walls as usual, and locked the door behind her.

Meanwhile, Yun reached the row of empty cells—which had no guard posted, since there were no detainees.

She suddenly changed direction, went to the kitchen, and prepared a cup of hot coffee.

After all this time, Leo had already figured out where he was while listening to the sounds from outside.

Thankfully, this wasn't a kidnapping.

If he had been kidnapped, the place he was locked in certainly wouldn't be a police station cell.

Leo turned his head and looked at the toilet that continued to radiate a foul odor, and sighed. Even in his previous life, he had never seen a police station this dirty.

Leo sat quietly in the cell, waiting for the legal procedure to continue. Even though it was his first time coming to a station in this life, he had dropped by a few times in his old life for minor reasons.

The officer in charge of the security cameras must have already noticed that he'd woken up and should've sent someone to take his statement.

Leo wasn't without a bit of fear.

If the men he beat up decided to press charges while he was acting like someone with a powerful background… what then?

He sighed and mentally prepared himself to even give up his new car if it came to that. After all, crying over something already lost wouldn't change anything.

Just then, the sharp aroma of hot coffee descended into the room like a heavenly goddess, violently chasing away the invading stench from the yellowed toilet.

When Leo lifted his head to find the source of the scent, he saw a cute, tall woman holding a cup of coffee while looking at him.

Her teary expression made even an old soul like Leo's heart skip for a moment. The masculine hormones in his body tried to abandon him and rush over to rescue this poor policewoman.

Of course, Leo wasn't a stupid webtoon protagonist. He pulled himself together immediately.

He silently stared at her.

The woman understood it was time to start acting.

"Hello… I'm sorry."

Seeing the woman suddenly apologize made Leo feel a strange comfort—completely against what his hormones wanted.

His hormones urged him to soothe this pitiful woman, but his mind informed him that his trouble had likely been resolved.

Barely keeping his expression steady, Leo decided a bit of gentlemanly behavior wouldn't hurt.

"What's the problem?"

"I'm the officer who brought you here… I accidentally used too much force when I intervened… Please forgive me."

Leo felt the pain at the back of his head for the first time. He had been so stressed by all the complicated thoughts that he hadn't even noticed it.

Once he pieced the situation together, he understood things to a certain degree.

"So what you're telling me is… you attacked me without warning, knocked me out, and instead of taking me to the hospital, you locked me in this filthy cell. In that case, why haven't you opened the door yet? Don't tell me you were being sincere with all those apologies."

Leo's words left the woman speechless for a moment. She had expected someone Leo's age to be unfamiliar with police procedures. Maybe she thought he'd pity her after seeing her cry.

Yun did speak after all, but her answers were nothing but stuttering excuses, each more obviously fabricated than the last.

Leo focused on the coffee cup—a blessing that banished at least half the foul smell—and continued speaking.

"Do you know what will happen if I report you? You'll definitely lose your job. Making this many procedural mistakes at once is no small matter. Sure, a high-ranking officer might try to protect a pretty woman like you, but then I'll just go to the media. I may not come from a rich family, but bribing a few news sites is no problem."

Yun's expression crumbled further. Tears really did begin to fall from her eyes.

"Please don't report me, sir! I'll do anything you want!"
