April slowly dropped the cutlery and lowered her head. She knew Judith never liked her in the first place and felt bothered about what would happen next but thanks to grandfather Brook who immediately noticed and patted her hand.
"Lucas! Take your wife to the room and rest for the night." Grandfather Brook ordered as he smiled at April.
"Goodnight! Grandfather" April smiled slightly and turned to leave following her husband with her head lowered only for Judith to throw a mug in her direction but Lucas quickly covered her with his back.
"Judith! Are you in your right senses? What do you think you're doing?" Brandon Brook screamed.
"Yes! I'm out of my senses! Since this divorced wench came into this house, everyone has been pampering her like she's some goddess." Judith screamed loudly.
"I'll never accept her into this house. I'll never acknowledge her as my daughter in law."
"I don't think anyone needs your permission to leave or stay in this mansion. As far as I can remember only father has the right to do so." Olivia frowned.
"Are you okay?" Lucas whispered into April's ear gently as he reached for her hand holding it while they made their way up the stairs. April didn't know what happened within seconds but she could feel the tension.
She didn't even know when Lucas held her hand. "I wish you both happy married life!" Olivia screamed in their direction before they both entered the room.
Olivia quickly turned towards Lynn with an evil smile "well, your presence will no longer be needed in this house. Kindly take your leave before you get caught up in her mess."
"Why should I listen to you?" Lynn rolled her eyes.
"Lucas is a married man now so your marriage plans to him have failed." Olivia grabbed her phone from the table and left after greeting her father goodnight.
Evan already left the premises to his room before the heated conversations got worse.
Lynn frowned after thinking about the whole thing. What was she even doing here? She thought in her mind before striding off in anger.
"Lynn? Lynn? Where are you going?" Judith called while she was still arguing with her husband but her words fell on deaf ears.
"Brandon! I've made my words clear in this house. Your wife is causing too much trouble, make sure she doesn't misbehave." Grandfather Brook said softly before standing up to leave as Brandon also greeted goodnight.
Brandon and Judith continued their argument in the room after leaving the dining table.

.
Back to the newlyweds, immediately they entered their room Lucas let her hand go and still April didn't notice. She was busy thinking about what judith said. "Is this going to cause a fight between mother and son? But- I can't do that." She thought in her mind.
As if Lucas knew what she was thinking he replied to her; "don't listen to what my mother said. You're not causing a fight between mother and son, the marriage was ordered by grandfather. It's not your fault"
He spoke softly in his thick voice and that made April wonder what happened within a few minutes that made him change his cold demeanor.
"T- th- thank you!" Her voice barely above a whisper.
April later entered the bathroom to bathe for the night while Lucas went to his study to work for a while.
By the time she finished bathing and dressing up in her long sleeved pyjamas, Lucas had already finished his work and is currently laying down on the bed on one side.
April hesitated for a bit before going to the bed to carry the pillow as she set it on the couch.
"Don't tell me you're going to sleep on that couch? What happened to the bed? Come and make yourself comfortable on the bed, it can contain at least five people. There is enough space."
April stood there as she continued staring at the King sized bed to plan her sleeping style.
"If you're insisting on sleeping on the couch then I won't hesitate to come and carry you."
Immediately Lucas finished his words, she quickly ran towards the edge of the bed as she set herself to sleep, leaving a big space in between them.
A few moments later into the night , Lucas began frequenting the bathroom to take a cold shower.
April heard the sound of the shower multiple times and got worried. "Is he having stomach upset?" she walked up close to the bathroom door to wait for him.
As Lucas came out of the bathroom groaning, he saw April pacing in front of the door.
"A- ar- are you okay?" She stuttered while biting her lower lip with one hand on her waist.
"I'm fine! You can go back to sleep now." Lucas went to lie down on the bed again but April couldn't keep her mind at rest as she lay down while facing his back.
"Are you sure– you're okay? Should we- go to the hospital?" April suggested but heard no response other than his slight groaning breath.
She moved closer to him gently and tapped him by his shoulder. Since she didn't know what to do, at least it's best to know if he's okay.
"D- do you need help? Should I call grandfather?" She suggested as she swallowed hard since she has never gone this close to him, she shivered.
Swiftly, Lucas turned to face her with their bodies almost touching each other. April immediately wanted to move away from him but he pinned her down with one of his arms on her waist and moved her closer to him.
She could now feel his breath on her face as her eyes widened in shock. "Wh- wha- what are you doing, Mr Brook?" April trembled.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" Lucas said seductively as he moved closer to her, almost kissing her.
