Alvin felt anxious. He was very nervous to meet his future in-laws. In the room, he walked here and there just to relieve his nervousness.
Kazien smiled wryly seeing Alvin so nervous. His hand was pulled until Alvin sat on his lap. He hugged him warmly.
"Calm down, Alvin. My family won't eat you."
"Honestly, I'm nervous to meet my future in-laws. Will I be accepted as part of this family?"
While hugging him, Kazien lay down. They both stared at the ceiling of the room.
He placed both of his hands on the cute elf's chest. Kazien smiled slightly when he felt Alvin's fast beating heart. He stroked his chest until the fast beating heart slowly returned to normal.
"My dear, what did you just do to me? My nervousness is gone!"
"I was just trying to calm you down. Didn't you say that when you are on my lap you feel comfortable and peaceful?"
Alvin sat up and turned his body. He lay his body on top of Kazien's body. Their eyes met at a very close distance.
"You really are the best my future husband. I'm not nervous anymore."
He stroked Alvin's hair and said to him: "You are the best my futere wife. Let's go to the dining room. It looks like they're already gathered there."
As they walked towards the dining room, they passed several maids. Before they could talk about the elf, Kazien motioned them to be quiet.
"Shhh. Don't say anything because I want to surprise them. Please add one more plate." He said in a rather small voice.
"Y-Yes, young master."
Several maids returned to the kitchen, occasionally looking back to see the elf they had never seen before.
As soon as they arrived near the dining room, Kazien whispered to him: "Wait here. After I call you, just come in."
Alvin only replied with a nod.
"Just relax and don't be nervous, okay?"
Kazien walked alone into the dining room. His arrival was already awaited by his family.
"You took so long, Kazien. What were you doing?" Virena complained.
"I didn't do anything. Hehehe."
"You must be hiding something, right?"
Kazien smiled broadly at them and then said, "Father, mother, and my brothers dan sisters, there is someone I would like to introduce to you."
"Introduce someone to us? Who?" Duke Elgard asked curiously.
"He is the cutest wife in the world and the only person who can charm me!"
They were all surprised and even more curious about who he wanted to introduce.
"Alvin, come here!"
At first, Alvin hesitated to enter. But after gathering his courage, he stepped into the room.
As soon as he arrived in the dining room, everyone was stunned by a figure they had never seen in real life.
"High elf?"
"He is my future wife!"
"Hello, my name is Alvin, a high elf. Nice to meet you." He greeted politely.
His entire family remained silent as they stared at the high elf in front of them.
"How long are you guys going to be in a daze like that?" Kazien exclaimed in a loud voice.
His words brought his entire family back to reality.
"Ah... forgive us for showing you something bad. My name is Elgard Altavis, Kazien's father."
"I am Larina Altavis, Kazien's mother."
"I never thought that my brother would bring his future wife so soon. I am Selena Altavis, Kazien's eldest sister. Nice to meet you, Alvin."
"I'm William Altavis, Kazien's eldest brother. I hope you're comfortable here, huh?"
Virena approached Alvin and looked at his face closely. "Wow! You're so cute. No wonder my little brother fell in love with you. I'm Virena Altavis, Kazien's second older sister."
"Y-Yes, nice to meet you."
"Sis Virena, sit down! I haven't introduced myself to him yet!" Davin suddenly complained.
Virena turned and glared at him in annoyance.
"If you want to introduce yourself, just do it!"
Kazien smiled wryly at his two of them who never changed.
"Hahaha. Okay. Alvin, I'm Davin Altavis, Kazien's second older brother. Nice to meet you."
Alvin bowed again, accepting their introductions very politely. They praised him for being polite in front of them.
"Sit down, Alvin! Let's eat together."
"T-Thank you very much, future father-in-law."
The title of future father-in-law made Duke Elgard laugh out loud.
"Hahaha. Future father-in-law, huh?"
Alvin immediately felt afraid that he might say something wrong in front of his future father-in-law. He lowered his head in silence.
"Alvin, do you love my son?"
The question had made Alvin dare to lift his head. He looked at Duke Elgard's face with a gaze full of conviction.
"I love him very much! Forever, I will always be by his side!"
"I don't know why my son is so adamant about wanting a man as his wife."
This time, Kazien, who was silent and lowered his head, couldn't say anything to his father.
"If you really love each other, why don't you just get engaged first?"
Hearing his words, Kazien and Alvin stared at Duke Elgard in disbelief.
"Father, can I really be engaged to him?"
"Kazien, we all just want you to live happily. If Alvin is the one you chose and that can make you happy, why should we destroy your happiness?"
Because he was too happy, he unconsciously used blink to approach his father and immediately hugged him tightly.
"Thank you, father!"
Alvin also couldn't hide his happiness. And without realizing it, tears of joy began to flow down his cheeks.
Duchess Larina approached Alvin and wiped his tears. "You're very happy, aren't you?"
"I'm very happy, future mother-in-law. I never thought that I would be accepted so warmly in this family. Thank you!"
"If you're happy, just call me mother and call that man father. Just think of us as your parents, Alvin."
"May I call you both mother and father?" Alvin asked to make sure.
"Why not? We don't mind. Besides, you and my son look very happy."
How happy Alvin felt right now.
Father, mother, I am not alone. Your sacrifices have allowed me to find this beautiful destiny. You don't need to worry anymore. I am happy here. Thank you so much for everything. I love you father, I love you mother.
Without realizing it, Alvin hugged Duchess Larina and cried. Tears continued to flow down his cheeks.
I don't know what had happened to him. From his cries alone, I could feel his suffering.
"You must have always carried a very heavy burden, right? This time, you are no longer alone."
Alvin cried uncontrollably. Duchess Larina hugged and stroked Alvin's back gently.
That moment made the others feel sorry and concerned for Alvin. They let Alvin release all his burdens.
10 minutes later, Alvin had calmed down.
"I apologize for showing you something so embarrassing!"
"Don't worry about it, Alvin. We all understand. Now, sit down and have dinner with us here."
"Thank you so much, father."
Alvin sat right next to Kazien. Not long after, the maids brought all the dishes and placed them on the dining table. But just before the maids left, Kazien called out to them.
"Wait a minute, all four of you! I have something to tell you!"
The four maids stopped in their tracks and turned to look at Kazien from a distance.
"What would you like to tell us, young master?" one maid asked.
"Can I ask you to teach Alvin how to cook?"
Kazien's request stunned everyone. None of them had ever expected Kazien to make such a request. The four maids looked at each other as if they couldn't believe what they had heard.
"Please, please teach me how to cook. To be the best wife and also for his happiness, I must be able to cook. In the future, I want to serve him a variety of delicious dishes."
Hearing his earnest request made them agree.
"Yes, young master, we will teach you how to cook. But, we will train you with a high level of discipline. Is that okay with you?"
"I don't mind! As his future wife, I just want to be able to cook for him!"
"If you have said so, starting tomorrow we will begin the lessons."
"If you succeed in getting him to cook, I'll give each of you a bonus of 15 gold pieces!"
The four maids became even more excited after Duke Elgard promised them 15 gold pieces.
15 gold pieces was a lot of money to them. The monthly expenses of a commoner in the Garveon kingdom typically ranged from 60 to 120 silver pieces.
One gold piece was worth 1,000 silver pieces. With 15 gold pieces, they could live a leisurely life without working for 125 to 250 months. My father was truly amazing! He never thought twice about always appreciating the services of others.
