Chapter 10 - Children of the Hallow Light — Chapter 10 : Beyond the Door

Opening Monologue:

"The world is larger than any whisper, deeper than any shadow, and older than any memory. What lies beyond the walls of the Door is not just unknown—it is alive, waiting, testing the courage of the small, the brave, and the broken."

---

Scene 1 — The Ruined Threshold

The Door's golden veins had finally fractured completely. Lullaby and his orb companion stood at the edge of the massive breach, the remnants of the walls twisting outward like splintered ribs of a giant. Dust drifted lazily through the air, catching the fractured light, creating illusions of movement.

Lullaby's small hands brushed against the jagged remnants. He could feel the hum of power fading, replaced by silence… and something else. Hunger. Awareness.

From afar, the shadows of the Eldritch Hunter stretched across the shattered settlement. He could see the faint, ghostly outlines of his fellow Galabies being absorbed, one by one. The memory cores—their lights—pulled into the void of the beast.

And then, the worst.

His mother.

Her eyes met his for the final time—a glance filled with love, hope, and warning. The flashback of their earlier conversation surged through him, echoing with clarity now. He understood. He promised.

She was taken.

And Lullaby ran.

Scene 2 — Flight Across the Wastes

Dark tendrils lashed toward him, clawing and grasping at shadows, consuming all that dared cross them. The orb pulsed violently, shielding him with jagged bursts of golden light. He zigzagged through the crumbled city, sprinting across the shattered stone and molten veins of the Door's remnants.

Every step, every heartbeat, reminded him of what he had lost. Every scream in the distance fueled his terror—and his resolve.

He barely escaped the grasping tendrils, diving into a crevice and hiding beneath the remnants of a broken wall. For a moment, he dared to breathe. The hunter passed, but its presence lingered. It was patient. It knew he had seen too much.

Scene 3 — First Glimpse of the Beyond

When Lullaby emerged, the world around him had transformed. The ruined city gave way to a vast, sprawling landscape. Hills rolled endlessly, rivers glimmered with strange, bioluminescent light, and distant mountains rose like ancient guardians. He had never left the Door—not like this.

The orb floated beside him, casting small, protective orbs of light. Lullaby scanned the horizon, feeling awe, fear, and determination. The scale of the world dwarfed him, yet it called him forward.

"This… this is where we begin," he whispered. "For them. For her. For all of us."

He lifted the cracked mask, letting the golden veins from his previous journey pulse against it, a reminder of memory, promise, and loss.

---

Scene 4 — A Pledge to the Beyond

Lullaby and the orb ascended a small hill, overlooking the sprawling expanse before them. Wind tugged at his exoskeleton, carrying distant, ghostly echoes of the absorbed Galabies.

He clenched his fists.

"I will live. I will survive. I will bring them back."

The orb pulsed in agreement, casting a warm golden glow. The horizon stretched infinitely, filled with danger, beauty, and stories yet to be discovered.

And with that, Lullaby stepped forward.

This was no longer exploration of the Door—it was the beginning of his journey through the vast world beyond, a promise made in silence, a mission fueled by love and memory.

The real adventure had begun.

Closing Monologue:

"Beyond the Door, every shadow is a teacher, every light is a guide, and every step echoes through eternity. For the first time, I see it: the world is mine to traverse, mine to understand, mine to protect. And I will—not for myself, but for all who cannot."
