As Darren came down from the formation, his friends quickly gathered to comfort him.
"Leo!"
The one called Leo trotted into the formation.
Then another dazzling flash of light.
[Life Class: Chef]
Leo seemed satisfied with his class.
"My dad is a chef.
I didn't expect to become a chef myself.
I guess it's like following in my father's footsteps."
"Mark."
"Ben."
They went one by one to complete their class change.
Most ended up with Life classes.
Occasionally, there were a few Support classes, while Combat classes were even rarer.
As more and more people finished their changes, Headmaster Stone's expression grew increasingly serious.
Alistair stood next to Headmaster Stone.
As the one who set up the class transition formation, he understood the current situation clearly.
"This year's students are somewhat average," Carter commented.
Hearing this, Headmaster Stone sighed.
"Indeed, we haven't had a single Rare class yet."
Carter smiled dismissively, "Rare classes?
When was the last time your high school had a Rare class?
Getting a high-level Combat class would be a good outcome."
Headmaster Stone smiled bitterly.
"You're right.
The entire Westsea City only gets one or two Rare classes each year.
My expectations were too high."
"Sophia!"
The headmaster called another name.
Sophia immediately stepped forward.
Before leaving, she glanced at Morintis, a flash of challenge in her eyes.
She and Morintis were hailed as the two top geniuses in the school.
However, academically, Morintis had always outperformed Sophia, who was perpetually the runner-up.
Sophia had always harbored a strong competitive spirit; she refused to admit defeat.
Morintis completely ignored Sophia's provocation, pretending not to see it, his attitude cool and detached.
Hmph, I'll show you who the real genius is, Sophia thought, then walked into the transformation formation with confident, graceful steps, like a proud swan.
Alistair, who had been keeping his eyes closed, suddenly opened them and glanced at Sophia.
"This girl has potential."
Headmaster Stone was slightly startled.
"Master Carter, why do you say that?"
"Her Spirit is more than double that of an average person.
She might become a Mage."
A Mage!
Headmaster Stone was instantly invigorated.
Mage was a high-level Combat class!
They hadn't seen a single high-level Combat class this year yet.
If it were a special type of Mage, it could even count as a pretty decent Rare class.
The formation hummed to life, activating with a dazzling light.
Amidst the radiant glow, two giant fireballs suddenly rose and exploded like fireworks.
Headmaster Stone trembled with excitement.
"A marvel!
A Rare class!"
The appearance of some phenomenon signified it belonged to a rare category.
[Combat Rare Class: Elemental Mage]
Headmaster Stone was ecstatic.
Just minutes ago, he had thought getting a Rare class was a distant dream.
Now, it felt like a pillow delivered as he was dozing off—a wish granted as soon as it was made.
"Wow, Sophia is amazing!
She actually drew a Rare Combat class!"
"Elemental Mage!
So powerful!
I heard their attack power becomes terrifying as they level up."
"That's right!
A god-tier Elemental Mage might even be able to destroy a city like ours with a forbidden spell."
"She truly lives up to being a genius."
Sophia walked down from the formation, her own heart filled with excitement.
Alistair offered a special comment: "Young lady, you are quite exceptional."
Headmaster Stone's face blossomed like a chrysanthemum in full bloom, his joy evident.
Sophia bowed respectfully to Carter.
"Thank you for your praise, senior."
When Sophia returned, a group of classmates immediately surrounded her, asking questions non-stop.
A Combat Rare class—that was the rarest of the rare among classes.
Classes were not only categorized but also graded.
Besides Life classes, which weren't graded, Combat and Support classes were divided into five grades: Low, Mid, High, Rare, and Legendary.
Legendary classes were almost unheard of; the entire Divine Dragon Empire might not see one in a decade.
Rare classes were relatively more common.
A city like Westsea usually produced one Rare class per year, sometimes even two.
Both Sophia and the often-mentioned Arthur Knightley were holders of Combat Rare classes.
"Morintis!"
Hearing his name, Morintis stepped forward and walked toward the formation.
Sophia watched him intently, her eyes filled with competitive fire.
Headmaster Stone asked, "Master Carter, what do you think of this young man?"
Carter glanced at Morintis.
"Apart from being exceptionally calm, I don't see anything special about him."
Headmaster Stone explained, "Our school has two top students.
Sophia just ranked second; he ranks first."
Carter said indifferently, "You should know that academic performance and class assignment don't necessarily correlate."
Headmaster Stone naturally understood, but he still held onto hope.
If we can get another Rare class...
That would simply be marvelous.
The formation activated, erupting with dazzling light.
Suddenly, the bright sky grew dim.
In the blink of an eye, oppressive dark clouds gathered overhead.
A cold wind blew from all directions, and the temperature plummeted.
Day turned to night as if the apocalypse had arrived.
"Why such a strong wind all of a sudden?"
"The sky is covered in dark clouds."
"The weather forecast said no rain.
This wind is really cold."
Headmaster Stone exclaimed in shock, "What's happening?"
Carter kept his eyes fixed on the formation, his voice calm.
"Now this is a spectacle."
A class transition phenomenon!
Principal Stone almost gasped in shock.
A phenomenon on this scale was unprecedented.
He was instantly exhilarated.
With such a massive phenomenon, not getting a Rare grade would be unjustifiable.
The question was, would it be a Support class or a Combat class.
"Impossible!
I won't lose to you!"
Sophia clenched her fists tightly.
This phenomenon was far more severe than the one she had caused.
Though she refused to admit defeat internally, she had to acknowledge this was impressive based on the phenomenon alone.
