Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 The Stag and the Unsullied

Myr was engulfed in war more than a dozen times, and the enemy was busy eliminating the supporters left by Governor Kasu. blood and fire filled Meereen.

Gendry gripped his mace, watching those who came to hunt down the Wolf Pack Company. The Myr garrison, Mercenaries hired by the Myr people, and the governors' personal guards were all mixed together.

Olive-skinned, slender Myr people, purple, red, or blue-haired and bearded Tyrosh people, fair-skinned, blond, and blue-eyed Lys people, and Meereenese—Gendry saw Mercenaries from most of the known world. The enemy's numbers were at least several times their own.

The remaining Wolf Pack and the reinforcements merged, forming a wedge formation again, charging towards the outer city gate of Myr. The Handsome Man, Longspear, and Gendry joined with their men.

"Cover me!" said the Arrow Maker, and the Wolf Pack Company soldiers raised their shields to cover him. The Arrow Maker's Longbow never missed, continuously shooting through several enemies on horseback, briefly preventing the encirclement from shrinking.

"You've come!" The leader of the remaining Wolf Pack soldiers clutched his cheek, tears streaming down his blood-stained face. The one leading them was a middle-aged man wearing a pair of steel-spiked gauntlets, which were already covered in blood.

"Where's the Commander, Steel Fist!" The Handsome Man asked. The end of the story was already determined, but he still fantasized about a miracle.

"Governor Joey of the gunpowder herb Guild betrayed us!" Steel Fist said. "Governor Kasu tried to seek help, but Governor Kasu and his family were poisoned at a banquet. The Commander couldn't persuade Governor Kasu either. Governor Joey and those enemies from the Navigator's Guild deployed Unsullied and Meereenese pit fighters. The Commander and four or five brothers died. We broke through the manor and escaped." Steel Fist's face showed pain.

"Governor Joey, he's also from the gunpowder herb Guild!" The Handsome Man was startled. It seemed those governors from the navigation industry were quite capable, having even won over Kasu's former close friends and supporters.

"Nothing is impossible! After Kasu died, the remaining seat went to Governor Joey and the person designated by the pirates, Governor Joey's brother-in-law, who is also a pirate. The person originally nominated by the Navigator's Guild was just a feint; behind the scenes, they had already won over Governor Joey."

"How could this be!" The Handsome Man sighed. The situation in Myr was ever-changing. Their supporter, Governor Kasu, died an unnatural death, and the Commander, Greybeard, was also caught up in it.

"Captain, the Commander gave this to you! After him, you are the head of the Wolf Pack Company." Steel Fist took out a ring. On the ring was a proud wolf's head. This ring was made of black iron and bronze, with ancient first men runes on it—this was the symbol of the Wolf Pack Company!

"Hurry!" The Handsome Man had no time to say more. For now, retreating from Myr was inevitable.

"Charge the East Gate of the outer city, the East Gate's defenses are weak!" Steel Fist said.

"No time!" The Handsome Man whispered. "Myr today is certainly fraught with danger. We have a new path, a secret tunnel!"

"First feign an attack on the East Gate, then double back to that secret tunnel!"

"Alright!"

"Boom!" "Boom!" The Myr army slowly dispersed, and small trebuchets pushed by Myr slaves appeared from behind. The Myr people had discovered the power of the Arrow Maker's Longbow and were somewhat hesitant to advance, so they let the trebuchets attack first.

"Shields! Shields!" Dick the Fletch covered his teammates. He used his Longbow to shoot precisely, needing only to suppress the enemy riders first. The trebuchet operators were well protected, so he could only shoot down the leading cavalry.

The Arrow Maker fought back fiercely, and the other Longbowmen of the Wolf Pack Company also returned fire. The Myr people's range was not as good as the Longbow, which was a bit tricky, so they could only watch the remaining Wolf Pack soldiers advance in a group.

Suddenly, a horn sounded.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!" A group of iron-willed people appeared in Gendry's Ahead view: a group wearing spiked helmets, black leather armor, and carrying short swords, shields, or spears. Thirty Unsullied formed a beautiful formation and advanced towards them.

"Unsullied!"

"The Unsullied are here!" Cheers erupted from the Myr formation. The Unsullied were always considered the ace of the Free Cities, heavenly soldiers who saved Qohor's fate. The Free Cities feared the Dothraki the most, and the Unsullied were even more renowned.

With the appearance of the Unsullied, the Myr people's morale instantly turned, and they surged forward, cheering, disregarding the threat of the Longbowmen.

"Damn Myr people, they really know how to spend money!" The Handsome Man said.

"The Unsullied don't ride horses! We'll push them back for a bit, then retreat to the rear!" The Handsome Man gave the order. The Handsome Man, Steel Fist, Gendry, and Longspear together met the Unsullied in a diagonal charge.

The Unsullied were expressionless, always known for their obedience and steadfastness. For years, they were expensive. In Qohor, the Dothraki charged eighteen times, but against that wall of shields and spears, they broke like waves crashing against rocks.

The Unsullied moved in unison, with only attacking footsteps and no superfluous sounds. The Unsullied were cruel and swift killing machines.

"Clang!" Gendry's Iron Hammer collided with an Unsullied's Longspear. They were indeed as rumored, agile and battle-hardened. This was not only due to brutal training but also because they drank courage wine from a young age.

Longspear attacked with a solemn expression, his spear darting out like a viper's tongue, but the Unsullied's defense was seamless, making it hard to bite through completely.

"Don't get bogged down! The Unsullied drink courage wine from childhood; they can endure pain better than us!"

Gendry raised his mace, then swung it in an instant, finding the perfect moment to strike an Unsullied's head. The Unsullied in front of him raised his Bronze Shield to block, then thrust with his Longspear. Gendry reached for his arakh from behind. Then, with a twist of his body, the mace struck the Unsullied's heart instead. The Unsullied let out a muffled sound, then fell.

"Leather armor! This is my only chance!" Gendry ducked, avoiding the Unsullied's Longspear, then snatched the dead man's shield! Myr's climate was mild, and the Unsullied didn't have a habit of thick armor, otherwise, heavily armored Unsullied would be even more troublesome.

"Kill!" Gendry felt immense power in his body. The enemy's movements seemed superfluous and slow before him. He only needed to overpower them. Gendry only needed to swing his warhammer faster and more steadily, not missing any opportunity.

Gendry's attacks flowed like water, his warhammer stirring up a black storm of death. The hammer was more brutal, and the Unsullied only had leather armor; these were opportunities amidst the danger.

Gendry fought with exhilaration, his mace moving left and right. He held a shield in one hand and wielded his warhammer fiercely with the other. The warhammer's point of impact was steadier, larger, and heavier; in the hands of a strongman, the warhammer was invincible.

Gendry roared, like a bellowing stag, with several Unsullied corpses beneath him.

"Hurry!" The Handsome Man pulled him, finding a gap; they still needed to return to the secret tunnel the way they came.
