Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Power Surges

[The twenty-fourth year, I wasn't satisfied. I kept studying the Thunderclap Breathing Method.]

[The twenty-fifth year, I found nothing.]

[The twenty-sixth year, I found nothing.]

Bruno was chewing on the recent memories, gritting his teeth in frustration.

Elena had said that the Bone View could be practiced all the way to breaking the limit, but the Thunderclap Breathing Method only went up to High Rank.

Wasn't that a waste of time?

Bruno sighed deeply in his heart.

[The twenty-seventh year, I found nothing.]

[The twenty-eighth year, I found nothing.]

[...]

[The forty-ninth year, I waited like always for the first thunder of spring.]

[Over the years, every spring thunder was different. On that day, lightning suddenly fell, splitting the fluffy clouds, and sunlight poured through the gap.]

[I was moved to tears. My body filled with thunder sounds. It felt like I had found the way forward.]

[The fifty-first year, I tried to keep the thunder sound inside my body, not letting it out, so it could focus on bringing more Enchantment Element to every part of my body.]

[The fifty-seventh year, I went even further on this path. Now, the thunder sound in my body was like a newborn, so quiet you could barely hear it. But it wasn't enough. I guessed that when I could gather all the thunder sound inside my body, the Thunderclap Breathing Method would reach High Rank.]

[The sixty-second year, trying to find a new path was too hard. I used up all my time, but only made it halfway. It was a real shame.]

The memory of sixty-two years of practicing the Thunderclap Breathing Method suddenly flooded into Bruno's mind.

The moment he opened his eyes, the whole room seemed to brighten a little. He opened his mouth.

Bruno let out a breath, and what came out was a thunder sound. It wasn't the real sky thunder, but it was loud enough to shake the ears.

His blood and qi churned inside his body, pushing into places they had never reached before. His blood flow became smooth, and every breath made a thunder sound in his bones and joints.

Gradually, the thunder sound began to change. It no longer stayed inside his body.

Every time he exhaled, there was a quick flash of electricity from his mouth and nose.

The Enchantment Element around him became extremely active, rushing into his body, and was completely absorbed by [Luminous Bone]. His bones became brighter and brighter.

It had been a long time. Maybe an hour, maybe two.

Bruno felt his blood and qi reaching their peak. His bones glowed like moonlight, and his spirit was fully focused.

Now!

He took a deep breath, his chest expanding like a bellows. The air in the whole room seemed to be sucked out by his breath!

Then a deep, powerful thunder sound exploded from his body!

This sound didn't come from his mouth or nose. It came from deep inside his body—his bones, muscles, and even his soul!

The window in the bedroom cracked and shattered under the sudden thunder sound!

Glass shards rained down like rain.

It wasn't just the window in his room—windows in other rooms also broke at the same time, crashing down like a storm.

Bruno slowly opened his eyes. His eyes seemed to flicker with lightning, then quickly faded.

Thunderclap Breathing Method, High Rank! Just a little more, and he could reach the complete stage.

Aldor walked toward Hornes Castle, wearing a windbreaker.

Behind him were his men, including Monitz.

Vulture Aldor, the underground emperor of the slums, had a 2-stage power level. He ruled the lower ranks.

Monitz held his face and pointed at the castle. "Boss, that's Bruno's house."

Aldor slapped Monitz across the face, making him scream in pain.

Monitz wasn't a warrior. He didn't even have 1 stage power. He couldn't take Aldor's slap at all.

"Know why I hit you?" Aldor asked, smiling.

"NO..." Monitz shook, trembling.

"What?" Aldor tilted his head.

Monitz forced a laugh. "I know, I know."

"Speak." Aldor said coldly.

Monitz looked at his friends, asking for help. But no one answered. No one even dared to look at him.

He sighed. "I shouldn't have said anything." That was a safe answer.

"Good." Aldor looked at Hornes Castle, his eyes filled with greed.

He had planned for Monitz to delay Bruno, making him unable to pay his debt. Then he could take the castle without any trouble.

But Monitz, that fool, actually brought back a 500-coin ticket. He thought he was doing a good thing.

Aldor hadn't expected a fallen noble family to even have 500 coins. It was ridiculous.

No matter what, he had to get Hornes Castle.

"Bang!"

They reached the castle gate. A strong man stepped forward and kicked the door open. A one-meter thick door, kicked open like it was nothing. Looking closer, he was Sheridan, the chain-hand, Aldor's top enforcer, nearly at 2-stage.

Fabian was shocked.

Daylight, and someone dared to break into their home. Did they think the Hornes family had no warriors?

"Who are you? Stop right there!" Fabian stood firm, straightening his bent back.

"Who are you?" Aldor frowned.

Monitz pushed forward from the back and said, "This is the castle's butler."

Fabian immediately recognized Monitz. His eyes widened. "Monitz, Master has already paid you back."

He suddenly understood. Why would Monitz be so respectful to someone?

Only Vulture Aldor.

The underground emperor.

Monitz's eyes were full of anger. He took a step forward, raised his right hand, ready to strike.

At that moment, a sudden thunder cracked the sky right next to them.

The sound shook everyone's ears, making them dizzy and disoriented.

Aldor suddenly looked toward where Bruno was, his eyelids twitching violently. He muttered to himself, "So strong a qi fluctuation. Is this a 1-stage?"

Sheridan said coldly beside him, "It feels like he just entered 1-stage, but something's off."

Then, the castle's glass crashed down like a rain of glass.

As for Monitz, he was knocked dizzy and swayed back and forth, unable to bring his raised hand down.

Bruno stuck his head out of the window, then kicked off the wall and landed right in front of Aldor.

"Looking for me?" He glanced at the unconscious Fabian, "If you want me, come find me. Why did you hit my butler?"

Aldor wasn't happy. "Who hit your butler? It was you who released the thunder sound and knocked him out..."

Aldor didn't finish his sentence. His eyes flashed with a cruel light!

He didn't even give Bruno a chance to react. That seemingly fat body suddenly moved with a speed completely out of line with its size, like a vulture attacking.

The ground cracked under his feet with a "crack," and before Bruno could even blink, the man was already right in front of him, surrounded by a strong, foul wind!

His right hand curled into a claw, and his nails turned a cold blue, clearly poisoned. He aimed straight for Bruno's chest!

If that claw had landed, not only a 1-stage warrior, but even a 2-stage one would be dead in an instant!

But to Bruno, this scene was just ridiculous.

After all, he had The Ten Thousand Hells, a High Rank ability. It had a huge impact on reality. He could sense others' conditions and even subtly change their minds.

The Ten Thousand Hells activated automatically!

Suddenly, the world in Bruno's eyes slowed down. Aldor's movements became clear, and the deadly force in his poisoned claws looked like a weak candle in the dark.

At the same time, his High Rank Thunderclap Breathing Method responded naturally. His blood surged, and his muscles and bones echoed with a deep, thunder-like sound.

Without thinking, Bruno moved to the side and twisted his waist. His movement even made a faint sound of wind and thunder!

Aldor's poisoned claw missed Bruno's chest by a hair, tearing five deep holes in his expensive clothes, but not even scratching his skin.

"What?!" Aldor was shocked. His attack had failed.

Was this the skill of a young kid?

He had planned to take advantage of Bruno's unstable foundation and kill him when he was still young. But he never expected Bruno to react so quickly.

This was just too crazy.

"Team up and take him down!" Aldor shouted, no longer holding back.
