The black inferno flame that engulfed a portion of the mansion was soon extinguished by an invisible force, snuffing the flame out before it could do any lasting damage.
On the other hand, Kuro now stood near the hole created by Shura's destructive entry. He no longer held the giant book, instead he held a sleek katana in both hands, taking a standard kendo stance. Kuro's eyes no longer held its morality and the happiness he once wanted to share had been blown out.
"Since you wanted to kill me for being a monster. I'll show you a real one."
Kuro stated in a cold and chilling tone. His simple statement made Shura react with a scowl, though that look did not last long when she witnessed Kuro's released soul energy.
"It's like an o-ocean"
Shura stammered out in awe at the potent soul energy exuding from Kuro. Shura knew that Niyah was still clinging onto life, though she wanted to see more of Kuro's potential, so Shura decided to anger him more.
"All that anger just to die by my hands like her. You know, she whispered something to me, but I guess you'll die never knowing"
Shura exclaimed in a taunting tone that filled Kuro with disgust and rage, yet he remained cool and his eyes homed in on Shura's every movement. Eventually, the energy dimmed and shrunk back into Kuro's body.
'Flaming Sword Style #1: Divine Piercing'
Kuro subtly crouched even lower and, in a flicker, Kuro now stood a couple inches from Shura, otherwise known as the striking range. His katana already in motion, arching to his slightly bent arm which had guided it towards Shura's neck.
Suspecting the horizontal slash, Shura stepped back enough to narrowly avoid the sleek blade of the katana. Enjoying the whistling sound, it made from the sharp motion. Unfortunately for Shura, Kuro expected this type of evasive movement and swiftly released his left hand, continuing his arched swing but stopping when his back was exposed to Shura.
'Now!'
'Now!'
Both Kuro and Shura exclaimed in their hand as the exposure of the enemy. Shura blitzed forward and closed the gap at an insane speed. Though before she could send her clawed nails towards Kuro's exposed back, a subtle twitch in his right arm alerted her of a potential counterattack, and she was right.
Kuro waited till she got just mere inches away to flip his sword in a reverse grip. His soul energy imbued itself into the blade and the moment Kuro sent the sword back; a concentrated beam of soul energy ripped through the Shura's entire stomach the moment the tip of the sword made contact with her body.
With no hesitation or wasted movements, Kuro ripped the sword from out her body and spun it in the correct grip. A perfect blow that did not leave no stain on his sword. This observation made Kuro smile a bit.
Suddenly, Kuro rushed over to Niyah in remembrance of her condition. His eyes franticly searched over her body for open wounds and located a few whiles, digging away the small debris that trapped her underneath.
"Don't worry Niyah, I'll finish this."
Kuro exclaimed with a soft tone, his hand resting gently on her forehead and unbeknownst to himself, his desire to want to keep Niyah alive had written itself into the soul core. This left a small sigil that slowly pieced her back together at a biological level.
'Flaming Sword Art #3: Heaven's Descent'
Kuro blurred forward with no time to waste, his blade curving through the air in a sharp whizzing sound. Flames like no other trailed behind his blade and he appeared in the same blur style of movement in front of Shura's stumbling body.
Shura could only stare in confusion as her world flipped upside down and she could see her own body in full view, though she was missing a head. Then it dawned on her that Kuro had severed her head, his blade stopped inches away from the exit wound.
Flames consumed her body in a fierce burst, earning a subtle nod of approval from Kuro. His katana now raised above his head, ready to strike down the lasting remains of his enemy. Then he struck, his arms slamming down with swift and effective mannerism, his blade unmoving as it curved down with a trailing flame.
Shura's burnt hand suddenly reached out the flames in an attempt to stop the descent of the blade but was met with a surge of soul energy, the moment her hand made contact with the blade. In moments her hand was not just severed, but this clash caused it to be rendered void.
Finally, it was over. The room inside the mansion was totaled, littered with holes of varying sizes which indicated that there was an intense struggle of power.
Kuro breathing was ragged which gave indication to his lost stamina. Sweat droplets trailed down his forehead and soon his breathing had been regathered.
"Finally. I did"
3 Month's Later
"So, this is the new soul class warrior? doesn't look like much."
A male voice proclaimed with disdain and contempt. Kuro looked on with indifference despite the insult, a subtle sigh escaping his lips with a single wandering thought.
'Is fighting and power all they think about?'
Kuro asked himself within the confinement of his mind, an inner monologue of sorts. His golden eyes glanced between a few others that were sitting around him, a subtle wary expression crossing his face.
"Would you rather I demonstrate my current skills?"
Kuro asked aloud to which nearly all of them nodded in response. Kuro then sighed knowingly, figuring that their head nods were going to be the response.
"Flaming Sword Art #1: Heaven's Descent"
Kuro exclaimed in a tone of commandment. A buildup of excess soul energy began exuding from his sheathed katana that hung around his waist. Kuro hand had gently rest on top of the handle, his breathing steady and sharp.
His eyes locked in on a stationary glass of water, a subtle hitch in his breath and in seconds, the clicking sound of a sword reentering its sheathe had sounded through the large meeting room.
Horizontal arching slash followed with a vertical down slash so quick that the initial click of the sword was unheard.
