'Huh?'

A storm of unfamiliar sensations washed over my body, spreading to every last cell. I felt warm, as if I had just come to a stop after a long run. That feeling slowly dissipated, and as I tried to chase it, I realized it was the triumphant feeling of having accomplished something difficult.

'This… this is how leveling up feels?'

I can barely resist the urge to grin.

As I had thought, the system wouldn't have given me a quest I couldn't finish with my own power. At the very least, it wouldn't have assigned it the E rank, which I'm assuming is the lowest, if I weren't capable of finishing it with what I had on me right now.

It turned out that I had an ability similar to that of the protagonist of the story. In fact, I had two, which made me wonder if the Incubus race was like an RPG class specializing in support.

Blood Pact, as stated in its description, was a contract ability that grants an exp bonus when used on females. Well, I assumed that Soul Essence stands for experience points in this world, which was confirmed now that I leveled up. The ability also gives me a portion of the exp gained by those I use it on, which means I would have a passive source of exp, or Soul Essence in this case.

'You get it by killing monsters, too, right?'

Sadly, it seems I can only be contracted to three people right now. It was still at level 1, so maybe raising it would increase the number of contracts I could make.

'How do you raise it, though?'

Rose of Valor had magic, but no "Skills". I wasn't expecting this world to be a one-to-one with my game, but this felt like a significant change. Figuring out how that impacts things should be one of my priorities.

'Still…'

Seriously, words can't express how grateful I was to have Blood Pact right from the get-go. It had a lot more restrictions compared to those of the protagonist, but for the time being, it should allow me to fill his role in the story.

'Sorry, buddy, but I will be stealing your role.'

Would I really be stealing it if he never had it in the first place?

I went and used Blood Pact on Rosalia and Daphne next. They were all on their knees, looking up at me with their mouth open and their tongues slightly sticking out, waiting for the drop of blood to fall. The sight was so erotic, my rising dragon started acting up.

'Now now, be patient.'

I wanted to pour a different kind of liquid into their mouths, but that would have to wait for some time. Don't misunderstand me, though. I just wanted to test another one of my skills, that's all.

[You have formed a Blood Pact with Rosalia Serenith Purplethorn.]

[You have formed a Blood Pact with Daphne Isolde Nightreign.]

Once I got the notifications, I stepped back. The three girls bowed their heads again.

"You have our deepest gratitude, O Great Spirit."

"I will be closely watching your growth," I said. "Show me what you are capable of."

"Yes!"

Hearing their reply, I realized that the conversation came to an end, which in turn made me realize that I hadn't put any thought into what I would do after this. I turned to look at the windows, but from what I can see, it's still night.

'Damn… they don't expect me just vanish into thin air, right?'

Thankfully, that didn't seem to be the case. The door opened soon after, and another beauty entered the room.

'Whoa…'

Just like with Liliana and the other, I recognized this one right away. She closed the door behind her, then turned to face us, resting her hands in front of her before bowing deeply.

A mature woman with an alluring body and graceful features, but her eyes were sharper than Daphne's, so much so that she appeared to be glaring the entire time. I felt a chill when her eyes fell on me, but I didn't look away. That's because, among those currently in the room, she wore the best outfit. She had short raven hair tied into a low bun, crowned with a frilly white headdress. The dress she wore was simple and matte black with a frilly white apron on top. In other words, a maid uniform!

"Carol!" Liliana beamed. "Is everything ready?"

"Yes. Milady." Said the maid, her expression neutral.

Liliana then turned to me, her cheeks rosy as she flashed me the same energetic smile. She seemed to catch herself the next instant and quickly dropped to one knee.

"Great Spirit. We have prepared a room for you." She said. "Please use it as you see fit."

'Uh-oh?'

"How very thoughtful of you," I said, letting the corners of my mouth rise ever so slightly. "Then, I shall retire for the night."

I was just about to move when a wild idea occurred to me, and for some reason, I didn't think twice before executing it. Stepping toward Liliana, I waited for her to look up at me before holding my hand out to her. She seemed a little confused, so I gave her a hint.

"Someone seeking heights should not kneel so readily."

That seemed to get the message across. Shyly averting her gaze, she placed her hand in mine and rose up with practiced movements. Her hand was soft, with slender fingers and well-manicured nails. One would never suspect that she is a fierce swordswoman.

Instead of letting it go right after, I held it for a moment, then pulled it toward me and lowered my head slightly. As if it were the most natural thing in the world, I planted a kiss on the back of that hand.

"I will see you in the morning, most beautiful of flowers."

Liliana was entirely frozen as I delivered that line. Seeing that she didn't seem to react at all, I started to worry, thinking I had creeped her out. Turns out I only needed to give her a second. As I held her gaze, her eyes went wide, and her flawless white skin instantly turned a bright shade of red.

Maybe I was just imagining it, but I could have sworn that a cloud of steam puffed out from the top of her head.
