Chapter 7 - FIGHT BETWEEN FRIENDS

*Kyle's Pov*

The drive to Vox was quiet. He gripped the steering wheel tightly, his mind racing.

Victor rarely called unless it was important. And considering how he had gone off the radar for years, Kyle knew this wasn't just some casual meet-up.

As he pulled up to the high-end underground club, the neon lights of Vox's glowed in the dim night, casting a ghostly hue over the street. The bouncers at the door recognized him immediately and stepped aside without a word.

Inside, the air was thick with cigarette smoke and expensive cologne. The bass of the music thrummed through the walls, but Kyle paid no attention to any of it. His eyes scanned the VIP section until he spotted him, Victor.

Victor sat at the far end, a glass of whiskey in hand, his signature smirk playing on his lips.

"You're late," Victor mused as Kyle approached.

Kyle took the seat opposite him, his sharp gaze unwavering. "I wasn't in a rush."

Victor chuckled. "Still the same, I see." He took a sip of his drink before setting it down. "So, tell me, Kyle. What's this I hear about you taking in a certain Medley Baron?"

Kyle's eyes darkened at the mention of her name. "Word travels fast."

Victor leaned back. "You know her family is searching for her, right?"

Kyle scoffed. "Let them search. Not like I care about what they do."

Victor studied him for a moment before nodding. "Then I hope you're prepared for what comes next."

Kyle smirked. "I always am."

"I've been protecting the pack for years in your absence, all the time you were in Mexico and now you return to L.A to do what? Pick up a random girl and want to protect? For what reason Kyle? It's not in your nature to protect someone, rather you make them follow your orders, tell me what is going on?" Victor asked

"You seem to know me well enough" Kyle smirked and sipped on his glass of whiskey "that girl isn't just any girl plus she was in danger and all I can do is protect her, just like I protected my pack for years" Kyle replied dryly

"You left your pack for a human world, just to find her but where has that left you, no where exactly man, it's been twenty six years Kyle, and now you pick up this girl because of a striking resemblance?" Victor said, Kyle face darkened, he rolled the glass in his hand with no expressions in his face

"Are you here to piss me off?" Kyle asked dropping the glass on the table

"You can call it whatever you want but she's not coming back to you and Medley is not her" Victor said and Kyle got to his feet and within seconds Victor was sent flying towards the disc jockey, Kyle came like a flash and held him on his throat lifting him from the ground, his nails digging into his flesh

"You can say whatever you want to me Victor, but you don't stand a chance to speak ill of her, she died for our cause." Kyle said with a hoarse voice and threw Victor against the wall,

Victor groaned as he hit the wall, cracking the plaster. He barely had time to catch his breath before Kyle was on him again, moving with inhuman speed.

Victor ducked just as Kyle's fist shot toward his face, the force denting the wall behind him. He spun, landing a solid punch to Kyle's ribs. Kyle barely flinched, grabbing Victor by the arm and twisting it behind his back before slamming him onto the club's dance floor.

People scattered, the music still pounding, but no one dared interfere.

Victor gritted his teeth and kicked upward, catching Kyle in the stomach. Kyle staggered back a step, but his eyes burned with rage.

With a snarl, Kyle grabbed Victor by the collar, yanking him up and throwing him over the bar. Bottles shattered, spilling alcohol everywhere.

Victor coughed, wiping blood from his mouth. "Still as dramatic as ever," he muttered smiling faintly.

Kyle leaped over the counter, pinning him against the liquor shelves. "You don't get to talk about her," he growled, fangs bared.

Victor glared up at him. "Then stop proving me right."

"I could end you now Victor" Kyle voice came through his ears "you better spill something meaningful if you have any or you return to protect our kind" Kyle said his grip loosening

"Jennifer is in search of you, my Intel says she's on her way here,"

Kyle's grip tightened, but after a long moment, he shoved Victor away and disappeared into the crowd. He stepped out of the club, looking unscratched, who would be involved in such a fight and still look normal? The night air cools against his heated skin. His jaw clenched as he strode toward his black Camaro, ignoring the curious stares from lingering bystanders.

Sliding into the driver's seat, he gripped the steering wheel tightly, his mind racing. Jennifer… after all these years? He exhaled sharply, shoving the key into the ignition. The engine roared to life, drowning out the club's distant music.

As he pulled onto the dimly lit street, his fingers tapped against the wheel. Jennifer was searching for him. Why now?

His grip tightened. Twenty-six years had passed since he last saw her, since he walked away from everything in search of another. Another who held his heart in deep ways and one who could bring life to it.

The city lights blurred as he sped through the empty roads, memories surfacing. Jennifer wasn't just anyone. She was part of his past, his mistakes… his regrets.

Victor's words echoed in his mind. You left your pack for a human world… but where has that left you?

Kyle scoffed, shaking his head. With a deep sigh, he pressed down on the gas, disappearing into the night.
