UNCLE KEN'S FARMHOUSE - MIDNIGHT
Jason is outside before dawn, punching a makeshift dummy he made.
Hidden in the shadows, Uncle Ken watches, going through some Traps that he set up for him swinging logs, tripwires, and mud traps around the property.
Jason gets surprised about the traps but dodges them one by one—still clumsy, but he pushes through.
He ends by leaping over a hay bale and collapsing, grinning.
UNCLE KEN (watching): He's getting better…and fast…too fast
UPTOWN ASHVILLE - JUDO TRAINING GYM - MORNING
LYSA & AMANDA are sparring, fast and fluid, landing grips and flips with practiced ease. In between throws, the conversation slips out.
AMANDA(panting): "You're getting better."
LYSA (panting): "Don't sound too surprised."
AMANDA: "Just saying. Someone's been training harder than usual."
LYSA (smirking): "You think Daniel notices?"
Amanda falters for half a second. Lysa takes the opening and flips her to the mat.
AMANDA (laying on the ground, stunned): "Wait–what?"
LYSA (innocently): "What?"
AMANDA (getting up): "So you like Daniel now?"
LYSA (teasing): "No. But I know someone who do...."
AMANDA: "Oh don't try and act all chessy, beside I saw you staring at his friend after our last training drill, what his name again? Jason right?"
Lysa's smile fades. Her face heats up.
LYSA: "THAT'S DIFFERENT!"
AMANDA: *chuckles a little* Sure It is, Come on we are leaving".
OUTSIDE A LOCAL COFFEE SHOP
After class, AMANDA, LYSA & their friends (SOFIE and KHLOE) head out with drinks in their hands.
SOFIE: "Today was stressful."
KHLOE: "Tell me about it. My back is gonna killing me."
From across the street, a little boy sprints toward Amanda, excited.
OLIVER {Amanda's little brother}: "AMANDAAAAA!"
They hug tightly.
AMANDA: Hey, lil guy. You came early today, what did you do?
OLIVER: Nothing this time. Our teacher got sick, so it was a half day today.
LYSA (Sipping on her Smoothie): Lucky
OLIVER: "Anyways, gotta run—Am going to the arcade with some of my friend."
AMANDA: Aww, but I thought we were going to the arcade together
OLIVER: Yeah, but I want to hang out with people my age.
SOFIE: The kid got a point
AMANDA:sigh fine you can go bu--
OLIVER (Interrupts, excited): Great, Thanks Amandaaaa. You are the best, see you later.
Amanda with a half smile waves as he runs off. The girls all glance at Amanda as she slowly turned, her mood changes.
AMANDA (Confused): What?
KHLOE(Serious): I think someone is a bit clingy
AMANDA (Trying to deny it): Who? me? Of course not.
LYSA: Amanda, you don't have to be embrassed. I think its kinda sweet that you wanna hang out with Oliver but he needs his space too.
SOFIE and KHLOE agrees with LYSA
AMANDA (low tone): I know, but Its just…I don't know, I miss having my lil brother around. I know it sounds weird but, *sigh* I wish we hung out more.
KHLOE(confused): "What do mean? You guys live together right?"
AMANDA: Well not exactly, its complicated
They all look at AMANDA strangely but they don't say anything.
AMANDA: "Look are we gonna talk about me all day or go to the park and complain how exhausting training was today."
LYSA (Smirking): We can do both.
AMANDA (hand to her face, low tone): Shut the f**k up and keep walking
They all laugh as they walk off.
...MEANWHILE AT THE POLICE STATION
In the police chief office, MARCUSJACKSON is alone. The only light is from a laptop screen filled with surveillance, documents, and Jason's face.
MARCUS (inner monologue): "Jason Martinez..."
"He has her eyes. But that name. that last name…
*He starts to lose it* DAMNIT WHY CAN'T I REMEMBER."
He slams the folder on the table.
Later... one of the officers knocks and asks if he can come in and Marcus agrees
OFFICER TYLER (Turning on the light): Good morning, chief
CHIEF MARCUS: Morning, Tyler. You got any case for me?
OFFICER TYLER (Playful): Then why would I be here sir
They both laugh
OFFICER TYLER: So there was a report of some weird activity happening downtown
CHIEF MARCUS: Again? that's like the 5th one this week
OFFICER TYLER: I know right but--
CHIEF MARCUS (Cut in): But nothing Tyler, like I said before Its probably some weridos pranking the police station again, I mean there were no crimes reported right? And besides if it gets serious, Ring Ring The Shadow Elites is here.
OFFICER TYLER: I know chief, but shouldn't we at least check it out
CHIEF MARCUS: sigh. Tell you what, if this case comes up again, we will check it out, is that clear.
OFFICER TYLER is hesitant about the chief decision but he has no choice but to agree
OFFICER TYLER: Yes Chief, loud & clear.
CHIEF MARCUS: Good. But don't feel bad Tyler, you will get your own breakthrough case someday. Just like your good old chief.
He agrees and left the office with a disappointed look on his face
Meanwhile Marcus checks out the surveillance cameras of the incident and he saw someone walking of a boutique and then he pause
CHIEF MARCUS: Wait a second
As he zoom up to a lady's face, as he blurs out
CHIEF MARCUS: Is that Je…Jessica?
As he look at the screen with a smile on his face then the smile slowly fades as he realized something
He got a photo from Jason's file then line it up with Jessica's security camera footage and with his eye widen, he gasps as he says
MARCUS: "What…. they…they look alike? How is this possible."
But the doubt lingers in his expression.
BACK AT THE RANCH...
Jessica walk into the horse ranch looking for Uncle Ken
JESSICA: Ohhh Uncle Ken, Am ready for that rodeo lesson. I got my Cowboy hat and everything.
But nobody answers and its surprisingly quiet even with horses around
JESSICA: Oh come on, I didn't ask for some days off just to get bored all day
Then she walks around yelling Uncle Ken's name but no answer
She then walks into Uncle Ken's bedroom and didn't see him there either but she saw something strange, A crate box with the words "KEEP OUT" (and it seems that the thing inside it is glowing)
Then as she slowly got closer to the crate she felt a weird vibe coming from it and just when she was about to take a peek
UNCLE KEN (From behind her, creepy tone):….Jessy
Jessica freaks out and stepped away from the box
JESSICA: UNCLE KEN….Uhmm sorry… I…I was just looking for you
UNCLE KEN: In a crate that says keep out?
JESSICA: uhm no…I..just thought
UNCLE KEN (Walking pass her, picking up one of the crate): it cool Jessy, and since you are so curious. These crates are actually a gift from someone from the big city
JESSICA: From who exactly
UNCLE KEN: Just a business partner of mine, What, you think selling groceries was keeping this barn up? laughs Anyways I gonna go drop these off in the warehouse. See you in the horse ranch, Jessy
JESSICA is standing suspicious about what were in the crates
DANIEL'S DAY/JASON STARRING SESSION
We get a montage of Daniel being alone
He is sitting in class alone (Jason hasn't come in for weeks now) he kinda gets bored in class
He eats lunch alone with the bullies knocking his food over
H
e makes it to the elites facility and was expecting to see Jason but he does see him at first
He later gets in the lab and sees Jason walks in but he is not alone. Here comes Travis who is walking with him side by side like buddy
And Daniel gets a bit jealous he even sees them laughing together but he doesn't approach them but instead he resumes his duty in the lab
ELITETRAINING GROUNDS
Jason is sparring with Travis in the elites classes and Jason was able to keep up with Travis moves. Travis still beats him—but only just.
TRAVIS (panting): "Not bad, Jason."
JASON (grinning): "Not bad? You're sweating."
TRAVIS: "From holding back."
They laugh.
TRAVIS: Anyway, I haven't seen that bully Viktor for awhile now. I bet he's scared of you now
JASON: Come on, I've only been training for about 2 months
TRAVIS: And yet, you're keeping up with me, that gonna count as something
JASON: I guess
As Jason Walk up to the door to the hallways Viktor is in the background laughing as he explain his stupid prank
VIKTOR: As soon as you walk pass that doorway Martinez, yo will be more embarrassed than that maze incident
And as Jason steps on the trip wire…
Nothing happens, He walks out unharmed with Viktor dumbfounded
Then Viktor went over to the doorway and checkout the tripwire, then he steps on it and a huge bucket of caramel fell on him
As the whole recruits laughed at him, Bennett is at the corner with Travis
TRAVIS: You didn't have to rig the tripwire you know
BENNETT: You're right, I just want to see Viktor learn his lesson, which would take more than just a stupid prank malfunction
TRAVIS: True (chuckles)
BENNETT: Why are you laughing
TRAVIS: Nothing, I just find it cute that you call your twin brother your little brother
BENNETT: Oh chuckles as well well we are actually irish twins, same year different months
TRAVIS: Oh. Now it makes sense.
They watch Viktor angrily storming into the locker room with the recruits still laughing
THEN WE CUT TO DANIEL'S ROOM - NIGHT
He's lying in bed, phone to his ear.
DANIEL: "Come on, pick up. You better not be playing video games with Travis…"
Jason doesn't answer again. Daniel sighs.
Then Mai and Miles bust into the room.
MAI: "Gee. You called Jason more than you calls Mom"
MILES: "I told you he has a crush on him?"
DANIEL: "SHUT UP! And why are you two here anyways?
MAI (Sit next to Daniel, crossing her legs): We need help with our science project, and since WE cant use any explosive, we came to the less exciting person in our family on how to go about our projects. Any suggestions
DANIEL (adjusting his glasses): First off, just cus I hardly make explosives, doesn't make me less exciting
MILES: Sooo…that makes you boring?
Daniel sharply turns his head and gives Miles a chilly death stare as Miles buries his face in a book he's holding
MAI: So… any suggestions?
DANIEL: Well you guy can make a volcano using elephant toothpaste or make something cool with vinegar and baking soda
Mai and miles yawns as Miles blur out
MILES (eyes closed): You were right, Mai asking Daniel for ideas was a BAD idea
MAI: Told you
DANIEL (angrily): GET OUT!"
They laugh as they run off.
DANIEL (mumbling): "You guys are gonna get me killed, someday."
LATER THAT NIGHT - UNCLE KEN'S BARN
Later that night (It almost a full moon) , Jason trains alone again. His punches are faster now.
Suddenly—he stops. His body freezes as a flashback hits: the creature, the glowing eyes, the blood on his hands.
He falls to his knees, breathing heavy.
Then—he felt a weird sensation kinda like his body was overheating and then...
HIS PALM GLOWS BLUE. Then his EYES lit up faintly with the same glow.
The light flickers... then fades.
JASON (breathless): "What the hell... just happened?"
From the hilltop, Uncle Ken watches through a telescope.
UNCLE KEN (to himself): "Well that wasn't normal... Is Jason a…,no it cant be"
Now In two different locations:
UNCLE KEN staring down at Jason.
MARCUS JACKSON staring at his computer screen with Jason photo and government information.
BOTH SAY (simultaneously):
"Jason Martinez... Who or…What are you?"
