Chapter 8 - Disappearance - 2

The night had dawned in the East.

People had already heard about the situation in the west, some feared it that it might happen here too thus they locked themselves up in their home. Suraj was one of them, holding his hatchet as he had sat on the couch.

For few minutes, he didn't hear anything. Thinking that there will be no outbreak here, he sighed in relief and thought maybe it only happened in the west.

But reality was far from his assumption, the monsters had appeared as soon as the darkness was painted in the sky. Those monsters were feasting upon humans who were in their line of sight.

One of them came right through Suraj's wall. Looking at her screamed.

"Arrgh"

Unable to balance himself on the couch, he fell down hitting his head on the floor. But the height he fell from wasn't long enough to damage him from the inside.

He crawled back to the wall. But unfortunately the monster saw him. It lunged forward to attack Suraj.

The monsters was like any other, was glowing but yet was black. It had a square body structure a face of a bird slightly bulged from the center of the square body.

That alone was scary for Suraj, he even hated anything related to horror, so ofcourse he hated whatever this inhuman organism was.

He was shivering, he rolled to his left and the monster hit the wall hurting it's beak, it didn't manage to pass through the solid object this time. Suraj kept rolling towards his left, the monster saw him!

It lunged again, running towards him. It had tiny legs. It wasn't fast but it was fast enough to catch up to Suraj in this little house. He shivered, he threw the hatchet towards the monster but it didn't even scratch it going right through it.

'What the f*ck?'

He had no option but to run but looking at the monster horde, he didn't dare to do it. Instead he ran around the house throwing random things at the monster. Some manage to hit it, hurting it.

'It's manageable ' he thought as he threw the kitchen knife which he kept on the table . It hurt it!

*Screech*

It wailed in pain, even though it was a monster it was not big. Without giving a chance to the monster to balance he continued to throw things at it. He looked at his old dome shaped TV, he picked it up and threw on it crushing it. It didn't have any blood to spill, it just disappeared into dust.

Suraj leaned back to a wall as he squatted down, he was tired, the sweat trickled from his hairs and his forehead. He was our of breath.

*Huff*

*Huff*

*Huff*

He felt his head ache.

"Not this again"

He gripped his forehead with his hand, his head was hurting since the morning. At the beginning he felt it was just a hungover, but the headache kept racking up. He was still scared from last night where he saw a pair of red eyes.

He still shivered just by remembering those eyes.

.....

In the morning, after the tea he went back to his home. He was tired, he didn't have a bed to sleep, so he layed on the couch. He still couldn't wrap his mind around the moon's disappearance.

"How can it just disappear like that? There must be some reason right?"

There it was, the same headache. He gripped his forehead.

"Argh, what the hell is this headache? I must go and see a doctor"

Looking at his pockets, he said "Forget it, I don't have enough money. I have to pay off this month's EMI in ten days. What am I supposed to do? I even losr my job"

His head throbbed in pain.

"I shouldn't have drank that much"

He looked at the kitchen knife which was still lying on the floor from last night. He picked it up placing it on the nearby table. His fingers twitched.

'Should I do it?' he thought

He sighed, "No, I cannot. I should look into some job opportunities, I have to secure a new job".

He layed down on his couch again, sighing and cursing at himself.

Why should he have to be so unlucky? His head throbbed again.

'Before everything, I must go to a medical shop'

He picked his phone up, it had no charge. He plugged the cable in for charging. He went to a medical shop and brought himself some headache tablets, before that he went to a streetside hotel buying himself some breakfast and eating it.

He came back to home and took the medication. He felt his head heavy. His phone has charged enough, he looked up to today's news.

Normally, he wasn't interested in these things but disappearance of the moon? That was a huge problem. He expected articles flood over about it, he got what he expected but he also got the news about the monsters.

He looked at the news in disbelief, "Monsters, really? That must be some kind of joke"

But he looked at the publisher, it was a reputable company so therefore it cannot be a fake news.

'But monsters? How could it be possible?'

He read the article, "The appearance of these creatures has caused a huge commotion in countries like USA, Canada,Brazil and many more. These monsters appeared out of nowhere as the night came. Is it tied to the disappearance of moon?"

He was shocked.

He was basically sweating reading an article that if this monsters were related to moon, are they aliens? Or just some fantasy creatures came to real life. How is the Eastern countries didn't affect them? Will they appear in there too?

He didn't know. Could they appear here too. His phone has already run out of battery, he plugged it in again. He searched his house and found an old hatchet of his.

....

The present.

He had squatted leaning back to the wall. He finally managed to catch enough breath to move freely again. His head throbbed. His legs were shaking and he was shivering. He was scared.

" Ah, f*ck. What the hell is this headache?"

Suddenly the headache increased and his stomach started churning.

" Aahh" he screamed.

What was this pain? When was the last time he experienced so much pain...it was the first.

He felt as if people were hitting his head with hammer. He wanted to puke.

His consciousness was slipping away!

He felt as if his body is being pierced by thousands of needles.

"Aaargh, Arrgh" he screamed in pain.

His body slowly started to fade. He wasn't able to think a thing.

He disappeared.
