Chapter 8 - Meeting his stalker!

William was surprised to discover a number of almost thirty people hiding inside the cafeteria. These thirty people were made up of students and teachers and they all looked at them with apprehension and suspicion.

As for this William didn't really care. He separated from everyone and walked around the premises, searching for a safe and secluded spot for him and Adam.

The school's main cafeteria was a really huge building with different floors and very secure, especially the windows which were reinforced with steel bars. The third floor was William's target as it was the living area of the chef's and cafeteria workers

Bang! Bang!

On getting to the third floor William could hear some banging sounds coming from inside. He could not help but frown slightly as he thought. Since there were metal bars on the windows it was impossible for any large creature to have climbed into the third floor and it was impossible for mutated insects and small flying creatures to make such noise.

Therefore that sound could only be from zombies.

William looked left and right as he set Adam down to check on him. Adam's condition hadn't improved infact it was worsening, his face was pale from blood loss and he was still unconscious. For the first time William was in a state of extreme fear and panic, the entity watching him the entire time was surprised William who had been slaughtering zombies and mutated animals like a God of war could show such an expression.

"Stupid mortal, this young lady has decided to grace your existence with her presence and help you." A sweet and playful voice sounded in William's ear as the most beautiful being he had ever seen suddenly appeared, the amused expression on her innocent face in direct contrast with her extremely sinful body left even the uncaring William stunned for a few seconds before he snapped out of it.

"Who are you?" William asked as he grabbed his swords ready to attack at any moment.

"Hehe ~" The beauty giggled softly, her face changing from innocent to charming like a heavenly fox. "My name is Celeste Morningstar, a Transcendent fallen angel."

William was confused when he heard the beautiful lady's unusual introduction to him. However, although confused he came to accept his rather easily.

"I see." William nodded. His expression was indifferent and his swords were still up. Even if he couldn't win, at least he didn't want to be killed without putting up a fight. "So what are you doing here and why have you been following me?"

Celeste blinked her beautiful ruby eyes and her long eyelashes fluttered for a second. She looked at the human in front of her with extreme interest and asked surprised, " you believe me easily? You're not even surprised by what I just told you?"

"Believe you?" William frowned slightly as he turned towards Adam. " The world outside is already a mess, there's zombies and even tigers almost my height. I wouldn't be surprised if there are aliens."

"I keep liking you more and more." Celeste smiled as she took a step forward. "Like I said I'm here to help so you can keep your cute swords."

William nodded as he lowered his swords but still kept his distance "Talk."

"My my that's no way to treat a lady, anyways here you left these behind after defeating that overgrown cat." Celeste said as she waved her hands. William watched in surprise as three items appeared in midair and floated towards him.

{ Eminent grade treasure orb found. Break orb to…}

"How does this treasure rank work?" William thought aloud forgetting there was someone who could hear him

"It's the universal rule of progression ." Celeste pointed out with a beautiful smile. Seeing William's questioning look, she explained. "Everything in the universe is split into nine order, from lower rank to higher rank treasures are divided as follows; Common, Uncommon, Rare, Eminent, Ascendant, Sovereign, Transcendent, Harbinger and lastly Apex."

The corner of William's mouth constricted several times and he couldn't help but complain, "You should have stopped your explanation on Ascendant or Sovereign grade treasures….. now that I look at my swords I suddenly don't think they are worth much."

Celeste's lips twitched as noticed the disappointed expression on his face. "A common grade treasure is more valuable than a high tech machine gun, so what grade did you get?"

William hesitated as while he may have been chatting comfortably, he was actually fishing for information and had no trust towards her. Celeste simply laughed at his hesitation, "How cute, fifth order and above existences cannot attack lower existence without risking the wrath of the Primordial records." Although William didn't completely believe her claim, he still decided to tell her.

"Wow that's quite high.. let me explain something to you, when you defeat any evolved creature you absorb it's soul essence. When that creature's soul essence is much higher than yours, Primordial records concentrates all the power you were unable to absorb in the form of treasures."

"The higher the level of your enemy the higher the chances of getting a high grade treasure and probability keeps on increasing ... .Therefore that eminent grade treasure orb is the most valuable thing you can possess in the early stages of mana awakening. Eminent rank is already the top of the mortal realm, anything above belongs to the domain of higher existences." Celeste calmly explained to William. William nodded slowly in understanding as he broke the orb

{Spectral Tiger's Mantle (Eminent treasure):consumes mana to create a shroud in the form of a Spectral tiger that stops any attack from medium caliber guns to attack from level 60 creatures. When equipped, all attributes +15}

William held the cloak in his hand and almost wanted to roar to the sky to say thank you. With this treasure he was impervious to several types of firearms! Even if heavy caliber were still too strong, his survivability had skyrocketed to another level.

He didn't have to fear zombie scratch or bite, as long as he monitored his mana reserves, there should be no problem with his safety.

Without delay William wore the cloak over his shoulder. He immediately noticed his attributes improving immensely, much to his delight.

"This is a great treasure pesky mortal, among the best quality within the eminent grade. Congratulations." Celeste said with a beaming smile.

William was surprised when he realized she seemed genuinely happy for him despite calling him a pesky mortal, puzzling him greatly.

"Celeste, why are you nice to me?" He asked, feeling a little suspicious.

Celeste bit her lips seductively as she said in a soft voice, " I find you extremely interesting William, who knows I may have fallen for you."

William rolled his eyes at her sudden change in tone and wisely decided to stop asking. Although his appearance wasn't bad, he wasn't a handsome guy either. Much less so handsome that the biggest beauty and strongest being he had ever seen in his life would fall in love with him at first sight.

Without delay and fearing that someone else might come to this place William turned his attention to the scroll.
