Yuna POV :
I opened the apartment door as quietly as possible, praying Dori wouldn't be waiting like a tiny orange demon ready to murder me for my catastrophic first day as Yuna.
Of course, the moment the door clicked shut, he appeared.
He strutted toward me, tail up like a king, then meowed sharply.
"So," he said, voice dripping with judgment, "how was your first day?"
I forced the fakest smile in human history. "Perfect! Everything went perfectly. Amazing day!"
Why was I shaking?
Why was I—Seo Minjae—scared of a five-kilo orange fluffball?
Dori tilted his head to the side. It would've been cute if it wasn't the prelude to hell.
"You're lying, Minjae. What did you do?"
He paced beside me as I closed the door, his footsteps like ticking bombs.
"Nothing! Really—nothing."
My voice cracked. My hands were actually trembling now.
Before I could blink, he jumped and landed on my head—again.
At this point he probably thought my skull was a trampoline.
"Say. It. Now."
"Okay, listen," I said quickly, "I didn't know he was IMPORTANT."
Dori narrowed his eyes. "Who is 'he'? And what did you do to him?"
I took a deep breath.
"I… I accidentally entered the men's restroom."
Dori leapt down to the floor, staring at me like I had committed a national crime.
"You entered the MEN'S restroom? When you are literally a woman now?"
"I forgot! I'm sorry, Dori!"
"How do you forget when you LOOK like this?"
"It's my first day being a woman! I've never had to think about any of this before," I said defensively, waving my arms.
Dori let out the longest sigh I'd ever heard from a cat.
"Fine… then what happened next?"
"Well… it was the men's restroom at Yuna's work. So when I came out, there were… a lot of male workers. Including a certain Park Jaehun."
Dori froze.
"Yes. Park Jaehun. Yuna's boss. She hates him. He hates her. AND?"
I bit my lip. "They called me a pervert."
"And what did you answer?" he asked very slowly.
"I… might have told him that his d**k is probably as small as a pencil cap and that he's not my type."
Silence.
Then—
"YOU SAID WHAT TO YOUR WORKPLACE CEO?????"
I had never seen a talking cat this angry.
Actually, I'd never seen a talking cat at all, but this felt like a horror movie.
He bolted toward me.
I screamed and ran straight into the bathroom, slamming the door shut behind me.
"I'M SORRY, DORI!" I yelled. "I DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS HER BOSS! He was being mean to her, so I thought I was defending her!"
From the other side of the door, he hissed, "Did he FIRE you??"
"No! No, he didn't!" I shouted back. "I will just be… his assistant from today!"
There was a pause.
Then the sound of claws violently scratching the door.
"ASSISTANT? You humiliated him and he UPGRADED you? Tell me the truth, MINJAE!"
"Okay, fine! I'll be his slave from today!" I yelled.
The scratching stopped.
"So from your first day as Yuna," Dori said slowly, "you already managed to make her life WORSE than it was before."
"I'll fix it," I said desperately. "I swear I'll fix everything."
"It better be fixed, idiot."
Idiot??
He called me an idiot??
At this point, living with him was literal emotional torture.
I slid down the bathroom door until I was sitting on the floor, head in my hands.
A deep, defeated sigh escaped me.
"…shit. I'm screwed."
