They arrive at Kui's apartment, which was almost an hour's walk from where they had met. It was on the 6th Floor of an apartment complex in Chiba, Chou Ward, Fujimi Road.
Kui opens
KUI : "Welcome to Mi' casa!"
The apartment was clean and tidy, and it felt comfortable, with a somewhat relaxing atmosphere. The kitchen would be on the left once coming in, and a small hallway on the right with different rooms, it's living room includes a sofa, a coffee table in front of it, and a Wall-mounted TV facing towards it. The apartment also had a balcony, closed off by a window-sliding door.
SHIRO : "…This is unexpectedly clean for a criminal."
- Shiro says with a blank face.
KUI : "Can we PLEASE move on from the criminal stuff?! I'm getting sick of it.."
- Kui says with an annoyed-tired face.
SHIRO : "Okay.. okay.. relax."
KUI : "I welcome you to my home, and you say that bullshit about my past, it's kinda rude!"
SHIRO : "Okay! Relax! I'll drop it, haha.."
- Shiro says with a giggle.
KUI : "Whatever, man.. just make yourself at home.."
Shiro drops his bags onto the floor by the kitchen counter. He takes a seat on the kitchen counter and looks out the window-door to the balcony. It was a clear view of Chiba's Monorail trains, alongside commercial buildings from across the street.
Kui sits beside him.
KUI : "Nice view, ain't it?"
SHIRO : "It's not bad.. but the trains definitely block the view."
- Kui was a little offended, but he shrugged it off
.KUI : "Stop complaining! just make yourself at home."
KUI : "Cause, from now on.. you're my new roommate!"
- Kui says with a smile.
SHIRO : "I guess it wouldn't be so bad living with a criminal, not gonna lie."
KUI : "YOU SAID YOU'D DROP IT!"
- Shiro laughs.
KUI : "You're living with a criminal, and I'm living with a-.. Hybrid of a beast and a human.."
SHIRO : "Okay, that's fair."
- The two look at the window-door while sitting on the kitchen-counter seat.

Suddenly, Shiro passes out as his body slumps from the chair he was sitting in.
KUI : "HA..?!"

In a dream-like state, a place that's familiar to Shiro.His apartment's door, moreover, His and Sheena's apartment.
"Shiro."
"Shiro.""Shiro."
"Sheena..!"
He opens the door, expecting to see his lover again.
"Shiro…"
"Huh..?"
He sees her, but not in the way he expected. Sheena's head, cut in half, as if something had taken a bite out of her face. She was bleeding, while her eyes shed tears.
"Shiro.. I love you."
Shiro's face was in total shock, but before he could even react again. Sheena takes a bite off his face.

..
He wakes up, gasping for air. Still in total shock at what he had witnessed.
Kui was beside him, while Shiro was lying down on a bed.
KUI : "Had a bad dream or what?"
Shiro holds his face, the spot where Sheena took a bite of.
It was whole, it was smooth, it was untouched.
KUI : "Are you alright..?"
- Kui asks Shiro.
- Shiro glances at his hand.
SHIRO : "Yeah.. I-.. I'm fine."
- He says with eyes full of shock.
KUI : "Your ass better be! cause I got-.. well WE got assigned for a job."
- Shiro looks at him.
SHIRO : "A job..?"
KUI : "Beast hunting duty.."
SHIRO : "Oh-.. yeah, right.."
- Kui stands up from his chair.
KUI : "Okay, get up, beast-hunting beast."
…
It's time for work. Shiro's first beast-hunting.
He's changing into a new pair of clothes, consisting of some cargo pants and a jacket.
KUI : "Hey! Catch!"
Shiro looks behind him to see Kui throwing him something, he catches it but it was quite heavy.
SHIRO : "What is this..?"
He inspects it. It's a orange injector with an energy logo stamped in the middle of it.
KUI : "It's a Drag-Booster! It basically increases your adrenaline and your energy levels, it's some rocket-science bullcrap."
SHIRO : "Is this drugs?"
- He says with a blank stare at Kui.
KUI : "WHAT?! NO! IT'S A ENERGY BOOSTER HUNTERS USE!"
SHIRO : "Oh, for a moment I thought you were handing me drugs, considering your criminal records."
KUI : "Oh when will you shut up about my criminal past?!"
- Shiro laughs.
- Kui had an annoyed face.
KUI : "Let's get going before other hunters get there.."
SHIRO : "Hey! What about a weapon..?"
KUI : "Huh..? You're already a walking weapon yourself.."
SHIRO : "I don't know how my abilities work! Earlier was my first time activating or even finding out about it!"
KUI : "Hm…"
- Kui takes a step closer.
KUI : "We'll figure that on the way there!"
- He says with a smile.
SHIRO : "Wha..?!"
SHIRO : "Whatever, if we both die.. it's not my fault."

The two are on their way to the mission spot. Walking through the streets of Chiba City at night, while its city lights shine throughout the roads.
SHIRO : "How far is it..?"
KUI : "Not that long.. we'll be there soon."
…
They arrive. The mission spot was located within a wide alleyway between two commercial buildings. The smell of trash and rat poop lingered..
SHIRO : "Do beasts usually hide in these kinds of areas?"
KUI : "It's night, they usually go out at this time to hunt humans, but this one's probably scared."
SHIRO : "Scared like you probably.."
KUI : "Maybe."
As they were walking, Kui spotted something creeping by the side of a trash bin.
"Eat.."
"Eat.."
"Eat.."
"Eat.."
KUI : "Shit.. it's an infected human."
KUI : "SHIRO! I CHOOSE YOU!"
SHIRO : "Hah..?"
KUI : "Uh-.. go! kill it!"
SHIRO :Sighs "I told you.. I don't know how my abilities work.."
Shiro takes Kui's sword from him and pierces the infected human on it's head, before he takes the sword out, leaving the infected human to fall onto the ground.
SHIRO : "It's not that hard man.."
SHIRO : "This was basically just a brainless zombie."- He says while looking at Kui.
As he speaks.. The infected human body began to mutate. It began to develop bigger ribs, longer arms and legs, as it emerged.
Kui notices it while Shiro was speaking.
SHIRO : "I wonder why you're so scared to killing this thi-"
KUI : "S-.. S-.. Shiro, Look-.. behind you."
SHIRO : "Huh?"- He looks behind him..
He sees the body begin to grow into something even larger. It now had longer limbs, a bigger torso but still had a small face.
SHIRO : "Fuck."
The two stared at the newly formed beast.
