Chapter 11 — Loona and Razan's Past
In the morning, Loona slowly opened her eyes and looked around, confused for a few seconds… until she remembered what had happened the night before. Realizing she had fallen asleep in Razan's arms, her face grew hot, and she quickly looked away, unsure how to face him now.
Right then, Razan walked into the room holding a tray.
"Here, breakfast for my little wolf," he said with a soft smile as he handed her the tray.
Loona started eating but asked, still confused,
"Razan… why do you call me wolfie? I'm clearly a hellhound."
Razan blinked in surprise.
"Seriously? I always thought your appearance looked more like a wolf… Guess I was mistaken. But either way, I'm still calling you wolfie."
Loona frowned.
"And why is that?"
Razan scratched the back of his neck.
"Well… if I used the same kind of affectionate nickname but based on your species, it wouldn't sound good. Like… listen to this: bitch. Little bitch. Doesn't that sound like an insult? It even sounds like I'm cursing at you."
Loona let out a sigh.
"And you're right. When you called me 'little bitch,' I genuinely felt like punching you right in the face."
Razan laughed.
"And that's exactly why I'm sticking with wolfie."
He fell silent for a few seconds, then looked at her more seriously.
"You know… I've always wanted to ask about your past. I didn't before because we weren't close yet, and I didn't want to upset you. But… if you don't want to talk, it's fine."
Loona sighed.
"There's nothing special about my past. Before I met you, I was just another orphan who kept getting adopted and returned because no family could handle me. One day, I ran away before they returned me to the orphanage… and while running, I ended up saving a weird dragon boy. And now here we are."
Razan listened carefully, thinking to himself:
In season two, when Blitz tries to adopt her, he finds out she had already been through several families… so this makes sense. In the original timeline, she probably ran away out of fear of being abandoned and somehow crossed paths with me. If I hadn't been there, she would've gone back to the orphanage… but my presence changed that.
His thoughts were interrupted by her voice:
"And you? What's your past? How did a smiling idiot like you end up in Hell?"
Razan chuckled.
"Well… my story isn't very interesting. I was an orphan too. When I was human, I just worked to earn my money. The only thing that truly made me happy was being a nerd — watching superhero movies, cartoons, anime… and playing games. That made me happy."
Loona placed both hands on her head.
Now everything makes sense. That's why this idiot is so positive… he's still a child inside, even after growing up in the human world.
"I see," she said with a sarcastic tone. "A nerd with great wisdom. But now answer the real question: how did you end up in Hell?"
Razan rubbed his head.
"I think it was an accident. Or maybe… deserved. There was this guy I truly hated because he always picked on me for being a nerd. One day, I saw him lying on the ground, shot, dying. And… leaving him there was the most kindness I could muster. I just walked away and left him to his fate… he ended up dying."
He spoke with a heavy sigh as he recalled the memory.
System, was that sin the reason I ended up in Hell?
Most likely, host. There's even an original character who fell into Hell for a similar reason — that snake from Hazbin Hotel.
Razan was pulled back to reality by Loona's furious roar:
"Meaning you ended up in Hell full of maniacs and psychopaths because you DIDN'T help someone who tormented you?! What kind of shitty Heaven is that?!"
Razan gave a sheepish smile.
"Well… in Christian commandments, you're supposed to turn the other cheek. Meaning: even if he was an idiot I hated, I should've helped him. I wasn't supposed to let him die."
He then looked at Loona and added:
"But you know what? Even if I ended up here… I don't regret it. Because if I hadn't come to Hell, I never would've met a certain little wolf who became very important to me."
As he said that, he gently rubbed her ears.
Loona stared at him and asked, curious,
"Why do you like touching my ears so much?"
Razan smiled.
"As a proper otaku, my love for beast-girls is unquestionable. Your ears are maximum-level treasure and protection for me. I'd even ask to play with your tail, but you're too small… it feels wrong. So I stick to the ears."
Loona punched him.
"Stop being an idiot! Now get up, we have work."
Razan stretched and said,
"Then let's go."
