Chapter 5 : Catch Up, Rookie! (PT.3)

—Vinne took his time to remember the words Jayce told him about drifting earlier. He took his time before he's only a few meters from the turn before he switches to 2nd Gear, initiates the handbrake, steers his wheels onto the opposite direction and slightly keeps pushing on the gas pedal before he immediately steers his wheels onto the correct direction..

—Vinne has performed his first ever drift!

VINNE : "NO WAY..!"

—Vinne is proud.. Of his first drift ever performed in a cop chase. He goes on full throttle and gaps the cops in no time.

—Erina and Lex are both still aren't detected or spotted by the cops.. They're stuck in traffic and in-between two trucks covering them.. They continue their little talk while waiting in traffic.

LEX : "Hahahaha.. You're saying Jayce got you into racing..?"

ERINA : "Hehe.. Mhm! He's like the kind of friend that you don't even remember how you guys met and you just naturally gotten a sibling bond out of nowhere."

LEX : "You guys met in highschool..?"

ERINA : "Mhm! We weren't relatively close but we just linked up out of nowhere and became friends!"

LEX : "That sounds nice.."

ERINA : "What about ya? How'd you get into racing or.. cars?"

LEX : "It's a long-long story,."

ERINA : "Come on~ Lay it on me~..!"

LEX : "That's probably a story for another time."

ERINA : "Really gatekepeing, huh?"

LEX : "It's personal~"

ERINA : "Or maybe you're just the type of guy to be born to be into cars.."

LEX : "Well that's one~"

ERINA : "Oh..?"

ERINA : "Hm.. What do I have to do to know?"

LEX : "Maybe something that can fill me up.."

ERINA : "Like a date?"

LEX : "A date would work out fine then.."

ERINA : "Then if we don't go to jail, we could go to McDonalds and declare war over the play place getting removed."

—Continuing back to Jayce.. It's been over a few minutes and he's slowly running out of gas. The cop is still behind him. He goes on full speed as he approaches a busy road then he overtakes the cars infront of him till he was in the middle of the traffic. The cop is all confused of where he went.. as Jayce's Civic blends in perfectly with the other cars in the traffic, Jayce has officially went under the radar against the cop.

—Back to Vinne.. He's still being chased by the 2 cops.. He notices a parking lot full of trucks as he turns towards the entrance of the parking lot and immediately hides behind and beside one of the trucks.. He was going too fast that the 2 cop couldn't even see where he went in the sea of parked trucks. Vinne turns off his engine and hides there for a little while.

—After about 40 minutes of the cops searching around the area.. Vinne wasn't found and the cops left. All the cops reported to the department that they've lost track of the cars and gave up as they head back onto their duties.

COP1 : "I've lost sight of the Civic."

COP2 : "I've lost contact with the Black Celica.."

COP3 : "Lancer EVO has gotten away and no sign of them.."

RADIO : "Copy that.. Did anyone got their platenumbers?"

COP1, 2, & 3 : "Unfortunately, no."

RADIO : "Copy, We will review the dashcam footage for further information. Everyone can go back on their duties."

—And that wraps up the car chase. Fewer hours later.. All the 4 cars comes back to Ayl's Engine garage shop.. Jayce pulling in first, Vinne next, Ether, and then Erina and Lex.

—Everyone comes out of their vehicles..

ETHER : "WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT..?! YOU DIDN'T SAY SHIT OF THAT LOT BEING A CLOSED OFF AREA!"

JAYCE : "Chill.. calm down.. I didn't know either alright."

ETHER : "Great.. gotta change my plates now."

JAYCE : "Lex can help with that, don't worry."

ETHER : "How much..?"

LEX : "Hm..? Oh like 15k Yen. But since you're broke I'll give you a discount."

ETHER : "NOT BROKE! I'll pay full price. Extra 5k for your service."

LEX : "If you tryna' prove you're not broke, at this point I'll do it for free."

ETHER : "BET. Make one that's BL4CK0UT"

LEX : "Edgy… Alright."

—Lex goes to the welding area to start making Ether's new custom plate. These custom plates are illegally welded and made and does not use the original plate that are registered on their cars, which makes their car hidden from being identified when they're speeding or in Illegal Races.

VINNE : "Wait-.. What about mine?"

JAYCE : "Just cover up a digit with a sticker and you're good."

VINNE : "It's that easy..?"

JAYCE : "For you, yea.. For us we'll have to change it completely since we've been through this several times hahaha…"

VINNE : "Wouldn't I also be tracked? I'm only covering up one digit and if they see me again and compare it to my previous plate they'd probably connect the dots."

JAYCE : "Don't worry.. After about a week or two, they'd forget about the chase and we'd be under their radar. Plus that EVO is registered on an actual plate but your dad just replaced it with a fake custom one right?"

VINNE : "I-.. I think so.."JAYCE : "You're good then."

—It's night, 8:56PM. Uncle Noel, Ether, Jayce, and Ether are at the Ayl's Engine garage shop drinking some beer celebrating Vinne's new car. Jayce and Ether sitting on a bench by a glass table while Uncle Noel leans onto his Celica 1999.. and Vinne leaning on his EVO 6.5 on the side of the hood.

UNCLE NOEL : "Ahahahahaa.. You kids' got into a cop chase..? That's already wild enough especially how Vinne had to use his new whip on it."

JAYCE : "Yeah.. Had to blend in a traffic."

UNCLE NOEL : "What about you, Vinne? How'd you got away from them?"

VINNE : "Oh-.. Uh.. I hid in a lot full of trucks.."

JAYCE : "The most common trick.."

UNCLE NOEL : "Anything crazy happened?"

VINNE : "Hm.. Well.. I did my first drift.."

JAYCE & NOEL : "Eh..?"

VINNE : "Y-.. Yeah.."

JAYCE : "How was it?"

VINNE : "Well.. It felt.. like a new skill.."

UNCLE NOEL : "Of course it is, kiddo. Next thing I'll know is you being a drifter in Tokyo."

JAYCE : "How'd you even perform it..? you've never drifted before."

VINNE : "Well-.. I took your advice. I used the 2nd gear, lifted the handbrake, steered opposite, and balanced it."

UNCLE NOEL : "For a rookie, that's impressive.."

JAYCE : "Well, we're Aylrons.. am I right?"

VINN & UNCLE NOWEL : "Hahahahaha.."

—As they were talking.. Erina and Lex comes out of the office room of the garage.. Seemingly going out together.

ETHER : "Hm..? Where you two going?"

LEX : "Hm..?"

ERINA : "We're gonna colab!"

JAYCE : "Already going out together, that's cute..."

LEX : "Just a friendly date, what's wrong with that?"

ERINA : "We're gonna vlog ourselves taking drugs."

LEX : "Definitely not that.."

UNCLE NOEL : "You two lovebirds stay safe."

LEX : "Fuck off, Unc."

ETHER : "Aand I was supposed to go out with Lex.."

LEX : "Bro, shut the fuck up."

—The two heads out.. Taking Lex's Mazda RX-7 with them.

LEX : "Where you wanna eat..?"

ERINA : "There's this tonkatsu chain I wanted to try for a while. I wasn't able to go because I have no one to go with.."

LEX : "Oh.. Tonkatsu.. One of my favorites.. Where though?"

ERINA : "Get in the car and I'll kidnap you to tonkatsu."

LEX : "I'm driving so tell me where."

ERINA : "I think it was called Mawari? or something. In Rikudontsuji Street."

LEX : "By the city hall? you mean Mowaru?"

ERINA : "Yeah, definitely. Probably. Maybe. Hopefully."

LEX : "Let's go."

—Lex puts it on 4th gear and speeds up.Just a few minutes later.. They're already eating Tonkatsu at Maruwa by Rikudonotsuji St.

LEX : "MHMM! You chose a good place for Tonkatsu…"

ERINA : "It so tender~"

LEX : "Exactly~"

ERINA : "Say 'Ahh'."

LEX : "This early? Isn't this a friendly date?"

ERINA : "Still a date~"

LEX : "Ahh"

—Lex takes the bite from Erina's spoon with a slice of Tonkatsu..

ERINA : "Hold on~ I gotta take a picture of the food to show my fans I'm on a date~"

LEX : "Fans..? What?"

ERINA : "Believe it or not, I'm quit famous~"

LEX : "Eh..?"

ERINA : "I'm a social media influencer~ Specifically for cars and.. y'know customizing."

LEX : "Oh..? What? Is that why you're always in the corner of the garage just on your phone?"

ERINA : "I am insecure and I always post about everything."

LEX : "Well, do you hold up a good rep' as a social media influencer?"

ERINA : "Pretty well~ I just got 5k Likes on my story about this date~"

—Erina shows her phone to Lex showing a story posted on Instagram of a picture of her eating Tonkatsu with Lex..

LEX : "That's-.. Insane."

ERINA : "That means I'm relatively famous~"

LEX : "That's sick.."

ERINA : "OKAY! Now about how you got into racing??"

LEX : "Didn't I say let's save it for another time?"

ERINA : "Whaaat?? Is this chapter 1 of our story?"

LEX : "You can say taht.."

ERINA : "Hmm.."

LEX : "Okay but why are you so into social media though? Like, damn!"

ERINA : "Oh..?~ 'Let's save it for another time' said by some car nerd.."

LEX : "That's.. mean."

ERINA : "I'll tell you it when you've gotten in my room."

LEX : "Wha-.. Okay maybe too far..?."

ERINA : "Whaaaat?"

LEX : "You're pretty freaky."

ERINA : "Have you ever been to jail?"

LEX : 'I-.. sort of got into jail."

ERINA : "OH MY GOD! AN INMATE!"

LEX : "WHA-..?! NO-..!"

ERINA : "Kidding, kidding.. But seriously tell meee"

LEX : "Maybe once I'm in your room."

ERINA : "Tonight or.."

LEX : "Okay not yet."

—The two continues talking and having their little date at Maruwa..

—Time passes by.. It's now 12:36AM. Lex and Erina had their date go well as they both parted ways going back home. Vinne, Jayce, Ether, Uncle Noel's little party at the garage had ended leaving Ether laying on the bed all drunk as he snores while Uncle Nowel sits on the chair with his head hanging from the side obviously knocked out from the alcohol. Vinne is at his bedroom thinking of his first race for tomorrow, Jayce comes in knocking on the door.

JAYCE : "Knock knock~"

VINNE : "Come in.."

JAYCE : "About to sleep?"

VINNE : "Yep.."

JAYCE : "You seem happy today.."

VINNE : "Huh..? W-.. well.. I am.."

JAYCE : "Knew it~ Is it the car? your first drift?"

VINNE : "All of that.."

JAYCE : "Haven't seen you this happy.."

VINNE : "Hey.. I'm just happy to see the path I took is starting to take em somewhere already.."

JAYCE : "Haha.. Cars are everything, aren't they'?"

VINNE : "I guess so.."

JAYCE : "You excited for your first race tomorrow..?"

VINNE : "Why wouldn't I?"

JAYCE : "Great.."

VINNE : "But-.. I haven't got any practices.."

JAYCE : "Just.. don't go over your limit.. and go with the flow'~. You'll do great.. Afterall we're Aylrons!"

VINNE : "Hah'! Gotchu.."

JAYCE : "Anyways.. I'm going to bed.. that damn alcohol making me all dizzy.."

VINNE : "Yeah.. same. My head hurts too.."

JAYCE : "Goodnight'"VINNE : "Night'.."

—Jayce exits the room and goes to his bedroom. Vinne lays down and gets comfortable in his bedroom.. Still in the deep thought of how his first race tomorrow will go..

VINNE :-Will I win..?-

VINNE :-Or will I perform lose?-

VINNE : …

VINNE : "Fuck. We'll find out tomorrow.."

—Vinne goes to sleep..

—Night, 11:34PM at Yokohama. Vinne, Jayce, Lex, Erina, and Ether are on their own cars headed to Daikoku Parking Area for the car meet up.. They all come together in groups getting plenty of looks from the civilians they pass by. It's not everyday you see a Lancer EVO 6.5, Honda Civic EG Hatchback, Mazda RX-7, Nissan 180SX, and a Toyota Celica GT-S.

—The 5 passes by the Yokohama Bay Bridge on their way to the Daikoku Parking area, once they've arrived.. they all park together right next to each other as each one of them gets out of their cars.

VINNE : "So.. This is Daikoku.."

ERINA : "LE' PURGATORY."

LEX : "Full of foreigners.. as usual."

JAYCE : "Seems chill for now.."

—Ether pops a cigarette and leans on his car.

ETHER : "Don't expect much now', we just arrived."

—Some vloggers comes approaching them..

VLOGG1 : "Anata no kuruma kinitta no de... etto, shashin wo totte mo ii desu-"

ETHER : "We can speak english.. No need to struggle.."

VLOGG1 : "Oh! Sorry sorry! I was willing to ask if I could take a picture of your guys' cars..?"

ERINA : "NANI?!"

JAYCE : "D-.. Dont mind her.. But yea, you can take pictures."

VLOGG1 : "Thanks! If you want, I can credit your guys' cars with your Instagram.."

LEX : "Oh… sure. It's fw.lexx"

VLOGG1 : "Ah thank you!"

ERINA : "IMA KONO SUZU KORAA!"

JAYCE : "SHUT UP!"

ERINA : "Hyaan! Yamete onii-chan!"

—The vlogger started taking some pictures and videos of their cars..

VINNE : "Is that for an edit..?"

VLOGG1 : "Yea, actually… I post car edits!"

VINNE : "Oh that's cool.. What's your Instagram? I'll give it a follow.."

VLOGG1 : "It's carcultth

—After a while of the 5 just hanging around by their cars, Vloggers taking pictures, people admiring their cars, and people asking about the mods, etc. Shial arrives with a Lamborghini Urus..

ETHER : "Bitch been gone for months and comes back with a damn Urus'!"

—Shial's staffs sets up a speaker and a mic for her..

SHIAL : "WAKE UP! HOST IS HERE!"

SHIAL : "TONIGHT WILL BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST STREET RACE AND IT'S HOSTED BY YOUR BEST HOST, SHIAL!"

SHIAL : "6 RACERS, 2 WINNERS!"

JAYCE : "6 is alot…"

LEX : "If it's that much, I might as well join."

ETHER : "DADDY! YOU RACE?!"

LEX : "Mainly drag.. but I can do street, and don't call me daddy."

ETHER : "Sorry, Daddy. Sorry, Daddy. Sorry, Daddy."

SHIAL : The route is simple, from here at Daikoku PA onwards to Yokohama Bay Bridge, Exit to warehouse road, and onto Honmoku Fishing Pier! Minimum of 80K Yen for the bet, and maximum is 150K"

SHIAL : "6 RACERS! WHERE ARE YOU?!"

—4 racers approaches Shial dropping down their money in..

SHIAL : "2 SLOTS LEFT!"

—Lex rushes in and drops about 125K Yen..

JAYCE : "Vinne..? Aren't you joining..?"

VINNE :-Can I do this?-

JAYCE : "Yo.. VINNE!"

VINNE : "Huh..? Oh! Sorry!"

—Vinne rushes towards the group and drops 95K Yen..

—All 6 racers gets into the starting line.. they're all reving their engines as the others watch as the start is about to begin.The Racers' Cars include : Porsche 911 Carrera, Subaru WRX STI, Honda NSX Type R, Mitsubishi 3000GT, Mazda RX-7, Lancer EVO.

SHIAL : "Careful, the roads aren't closed."

SHIAL : READY? 3! 2! 1! GO..!
