He drove without speaking, and Veronica stayed quiet too.
For some reason he couldn't grasp, he noticed she struggled to turn down his offers to help.
"Veronica, Richards Estate is where you're staying, right?"
He'd already researched her address.
She gave a small nod. "Yes."
Nothing escaped his attention, and he could tell Veronica knew there was no use hiding details from him.
They stayed silent for the remainder of the trip. He watched her close her eyes to rest while he kept his focus on the road back to Richards Estate.
At the entrance, security recognized his car and waved them through without hesitation.
He parked directly in front of the main house.
Getting out, he circled around and pulled open her door. "Veronica, we've arrived. Time to step out."
Her eyes opened, and she saw they'd reached their destination. She undid her seatbelt and climbed out.
"Thank you, Denton. I'll arrange for someone to drive you back."
