Phoebe's POV
I headed upstairs for a shower. No point in bothering with my hair—I just pulled on pajamas and grabbed a towel to dry it while booting up my laptop.
I'd left it behind during my day with Harriet, so it had been powered down all day.
The moment it came online, notifications flooded in. Before I could check any of them, an incoming voice call appeared.
I hesitated, then slipped my headphones on and picked up. "What's going on, Boyce?"
"Great news," Boyce said, his tone way too upbeat.
"Someone just threw serious money at the Hacker Alliance, wanting dirt on everything you've been up to since coming home."
I shrugged. "Nothing unusual there. People are always trying to dig up my past."
"Fair point," Boyce chuckled. "But want to know how much they're offering this time?"
"How much? Have I finally gotten more expensive?" I asked without much interest.
I recalled someone once offering 30 million for my information, though that deal fell through.
