Phoebe's POV
I wasn't sure what expressions the other people at the school gate wore, but I knew that Patty, who had been completely ignored by Harold and me, must have looked absolutely miserable.
I had spotted the Hale family's car pulling up from far away, but Patty only stepped out when she saw Harold and me approaching the school entrance.
Patty had definitely been waiting there on purpose for me. I wasn't falling for her act.
And Harold, sharp as a blade, was even less likely to let Patty anywhere near us. He'd probably pegged her as trouble the second she started walking our way.
"Just head to class. Don't stress about it. By the time your lesson's over, everything will be sorted," Harold said, walking me all the way to the Traditional Medicine Department's lab building and practically pushing me toward the door.
I laughed, "Harold, I'm not some little kid anymore. If something's really happening, you don't need to keep me in the dark."
