Phoebe's POV
I watched as Harold wound up the hair dryer cord and placed it on the nightstand. His eyes met mine as he spoke, "Of course. Just like you coaxed me to sleep, I'll coax you. Now, get under the covers."
I didn't hesitate for even a second, diving beneath the blanket and pulling it up until only my eyes peeked out. "I'm all tucked in, Harold. You should go sit over there now."
I expected him to argue, but surprisingly, he walked obediently to the sofa and settled down. Apart from those intense eyes of his, he looked completely harmless.
Even so, I couldn't afford to drop my guard. The intimate moments we'd shared earlier today made my heart race just remembering them. It was honestly humiliating. Even more embarrassing than waking up in his arms.
Harold had this talent for extracting maximum benefit from every situation. I never seemed to gain the upper hand when I was around him.
