I didn't feel even slightly uncomfortable. My eyes drifted to Roger, but I kept my opinions to myself.
Siena was her own person, and Roger was his. I wasn't someone who'd take out anger toward one person on another.
Even so, the way Roger was looking at me made it clear he was nursing some resentment.
Benjamin, clearly relieved when I told him Charlies wasn't getting pummeled, grabbed his phone and fired off a quick text to Charlies, asking when he'd arrive since class was starting soon.
Our afternoon sessions were with Carol Drake, a young professor with zero patience compared to Brian.
Carol's classes were brutal—he never missed taking attendance and loved dumping assignments that were way above our heads. You needed to scribble down every word just to survive his hellish homework. Total torture.
