Phoebe's POV
The cramped office held just the three of us now—me, Nadia, and Kain—wrapped in suffocating silence.
Nadia's eyes darted everywhere except toward me, like my stare might burn her alive. Every time our gazes accidentally met, she'd whip her head away like I'd slapped her.
I could practically hear her heart racing. She was terrified I might explode and come for her next.
Nadia had probably witnessed plenty of student drama during her time here, but nothing close to the scene I'd just unleashed in that dorm room.
Apart from Alice, who'd gotten the full taste of my fury, Nadia was likely the only one who'd caught that particular look in my eyes.
It wasn't rage—it was something far more unsettling. I'd stayed perfectly calm, almost peaceful, as if I could see straight through their pathetic attempts to rattle me, dismissing their insults with arctic indifference.
