I felt genuinely pleased with how things turned out. The way I saw it, unless they could somehow magically repair his shattered hand and leg, maybe get the bones to regenerate, he might regain some limited movement. But bearing real weight on those limbs again? Not happening.
Given how the Burton family pampers their precious son, I figured they'd eventually come crawling to me for help.
After all, I'm the miracle healer who fixed Mr. Mitchell. They'd have to swallow their pride eventually, wouldn't they?
Business wrapped up, Harold whisked me away while Malcolm and Charlies stayed behind to handle what came next.
"Handle" basically meant sticking around until the Burton family arrived.
Harold never left loose ends - he wanted them to know exactly who'd delivered this particular message.
