Phoebe's POV
Burton lay crumpled on the floor, beaten so savagely by Malcolm that he couldn't even lift himself up. Bloody foam bubbled up from his lungs and leaked from his mouth, the flow growing heavier by the second. It trickled down his jaw and stained his white shirt collar, spreading into bright red blossoms that looked almost beautiful in their brutality.
But Burton was too scared to even wipe it away.
He pleaded desperately, "Mr. Bailey, did I... did I do something to offend you? Please, just give me a clue..."
