Harold's POV
The news hit me like cold water, instantly clearing my head. My expression hardened as sobriety crashed over me. "Go check next door—see if Phoebe's home," I ordered. Every instinct screamed that this situation had her fingerprints all over it.
Alistair froze, clearly caught off guard. "Mr. Bailey, you really think Miss Hale is mixed up in this?"
Impossible, right? Miss Hale had shown up tonight specifically to help me sleep. The drive from Starbrook Estate to the incident location would take quite a while.
But hold on—if she took a motorcycle, and with the early morning traffic practically nonexistent, someone with her skills could pull it off. And Miss Hale... she's Speed Queen Eden!
Alistair spun around and bolted for the door. "Mr. Bailey, I'll check immediately."
I was already moving toward the closet to grab clothes. Honestly, whether Alistair checked or not, I already knew what he'd find.
