Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

Diana stared at him blankly. Peter looked into her eyes. He could see she was serious. He let go and stood defeated.

"You will be fine. I am not the one for you," Diana said. She gave him a peck on the cheek before leaving. She walked up to Star, who had been watching from afar.

Star held Diana's hand. "Can't you see what you are doing? You are throwing your life away for someone who hurt you in the past. Can't you just let go and move on? Instead of throwing everything precious to you away?"

Diana freed her hand from Star's. "I have nothing to explain if you cannot support me. I know that. I understand what you are saying. But I need to find out some things. I need to be at rest, knowing I didn't come back for no reason. If you can't help me, you are just in my way." She walked away.

Diana felt misunderstood. No one could truly understand how important it was to her. She got home a bit late. Her mom was already asleep on the dining table. The food she had made was sitting there.

Diana smiled warmly. She shifted the food aside and woke her mom up. Her mom was startled and called out Diana's name. Diana calmed her down. She said that she was here, and she helped her to her room.

She microwaved the food and ate it. Then she went straight to her room. She pulled out the graduation dress. Her mom had worked late nights on it.

As she was admiring the dress, a ball was thrown towards her head. She caught it. Then she turned towards the girl who had just entered her room.

"Have you heard of knocking?" she asked. She threw the ball back to her. Nora caught it in a swift move.

"I have always been jealous of your reflexes. You're leaving next week Sunday. I won't have a punching bag for my insults again."

"Well, Nora, if that is how you say your ass is gonna miss me, I guess I have to accept it. All without bruising your huge ego," Diana replied with a smirk.

Nora laughed. "You never failed to amuse me. Why don't we go on a heist one last time before you leave?"

"Now you're talking." Diana got dressed and jumped out her window. Nora climbed on the bike and wore a helmet. She handed one to Diana. Diana wore it and sat behind her. They rode off.

They arrived at an alley with a few other girls. The girls all greeted Diana. There were handshakes, small jokes, and small gifts. She spotted Star in the midst. She hadn't forgiven her, so she looked away.

"Alright, guys, this is our last heist. After this, we go back to living a normal life. We actually obey the law," Nora announced. Everyone laughed. Then she took out a dagger and pierced it into a table. This caused everyone to believe she was serious.

"We can't live a life always hiding. We can't be flinching every time we see a cop. So this is the last one. This is the best one, for us and for a crucial member of our group." Nora pointed to Diana. Everyone clapped.

"Even if we disband, we are still family. We have each other's backs to the core. So, this is the plan." Nora then explained the plan to rob a highly secure bank.

The bank was a fortress, but they found an open route. They would take out the security and override the system. It was supposed to be an easy task. That was, if everyone played their cards right.

Everything was going smoothly. Then someone accidentally switched off the alarm. But they already had a plan for that. Nora called out for plan B.

There were two buses that looked exactly alike. They moved both at the same time, causing confusion. They had a siren. They all acted cool to avoid being caught.

The cops told them both to pull over. The bus with the money stopped. The one without it kept on moving. This made the cops think that was their bus. They left a rookie to check the first bus. They believed they had a bigger target to chase.

Diana came out from the side of the bus. The cop was looking away. She hit him with something hard. He fell unconscious.

She told Nora to drive off and change vehicles. She would hold the cops off.

The cops set up a roadblock in front of the driver. This caused him to finally stop. They got the driver to get out of the bus. To their surprise, it was an old white man. He was probably in his sixties. He was wearing earbuds. That explained why he didn't hear the cops in the first place.

They checked his bus. There was nothing on it. Then it clicked. It was a setup. They all rushed to their cars. They prepared to get back to the first bus.

"I hate you!" they heard a voice. It was Diana. She was pointing a gun at a boy. They both walked in front of the cops, making them wait.

The officers tried to calm her down. They got the gun from her hand. They finally did so and cuffed her. They found out it was a toy gun.

"Why would you threaten your boyfriend with a toy gun?" one of the officers asked.

"Why would I threaten my boyfriend with a real gun? He is an asshole, but I still love him," Diana replied, rolling her eyes.

"Or it is a plan to stall us. We need to get that truck," one of the detectives suggested. Every officer got into their cars and fled.

"Hey, what about me? Get these cuffs off me!" Diana yelled. She was trying to get the last cop's attention.

"You are coming with us," the cop said. He pulled Diana to the back of his car.

"What?"
