The silence was daunting. Ale sat on the couch in the living room. Athinna sitting beside him, her lips in a little pout. Her eyes were still slightly red from the shed tears. Her fingers tightly clasping Ale's coat. She looked around at the mansions interior, her eyes awed at the stylish decor. She approved!
"So....who is the little missy?", Kavriel asked, a mischievous smirk on his face. Athinna turned her sight to the others sitting on the other couch. a little shame flitting past her doe eyes. Athinna shifted closer to Ale, her eyes narrowing to hide her unease. She recognized the Black haired girl sitting on the single couch directly in front of her. She sensed hostility in the girls pretty phoenix eyes. 'Is she that guys lover?' she wondered. her eyes growing cold with the assumption.
Ale sighed for the umpteenth time. "This is Athinna Sedna Vortelix.....my daughter"
Another bout of silence ensued.
Dareevah was the first to break the silence with a faint grunt.
Her lashes trembled. A whisp of pain flashing past her eyes.
Kavriel's back tensed as he abruptly turned to his wife.
His eyes shining with concern. "What's wrong? Are you okay" Dareevah smiled in response, her breath returning to normal. "It was just a little kick from the little one."
The others also relaxed their tense nerves. Raven let out a sigh of relief her eyes returning to tgeir usual calm. She turned back to the duo sitting in front of her, her eyes narrowing into slits in confusion.
Ale waited silently for the questions that were sure to follow.
"How!!!" Ale smiled a little at the confusion.
" After my wife died, i went after my first love; **†***, we had a daughter before i severed Brusselie. But unfortunately they weren't by my side when it all happened."
"Then how did she come to Brusselie.
And how old was she when Brusselie was separated from Sivennia" Raven asked, doubt lacing her voice, eliciting a doubtful stare from the others. Raven hadn't been told of Brusselie's history.
"It's a long story. I'll tell you another time" Ale soon shifted his gaze, an understanding smile on his face.
"I was 20 years old when my father disappeared along with Brusselie" Athinna answered from beside her father. Her eyes warmer than at the start. She trusted her father enough to keep searching, even when her mother had given up.
Brusselie's separation was abrupt. No one but the Seven Kings had an inkling of how exactly Ale had split them apart.
"I....Is that crazy vampire your umm...lover?" Athinna Stuttered, a tinge of red on her ears, as she looked at Raven.
"Eehh...No...he's my father" Raven answered, her eyes round in astonishment.
Kavriel chuckled. His red eyes glowing in amusement.
"You...Your father!" Her already round eyes were even rounder she looked like a cute baby doll. Raven hostility flew out the window at this moment. Still pouting her pink lips, she asked "why were you beating up my dad?" "He suddenly dove into the deep and i thought, he was following me....then he stared at me with his blood red eyes. I couldn't stand it" This time Athinna's colf eyes had resurfaced. She stared at Raven, not flinching.
Kavriel suddenly chuckled. His already red eyes glowed with a mischievous smile.
Dareevah too, chuckled, her hand covering her lips.
Athinna looked at the laughing duo and her face suddenly went red.
Ale patted her head and conducted a formal introduction.
"This is Dareevah Willows, the 'crazy Vampire's little sister..." He said looking at Dareevah. "The one beside her is _ as you might've guessed _ her husband, Kavriel Del Vai...you've already met Raven Willows, 'the Crazy Vampire's daughter. And also.. Alleon's..." "Daughter..." Athinna finished the introduction. A profound light shining in her eyes. The playfulness already a thing of the past.
Athinna got up from her father's side as she bent her knee to Raven. Her eyes were mellow and her aura calm. "Princess, you really are a beauty hidden from the heavens".
Raven flinched at the sudden change in demeanor.
*************
'Thud Thud' Damian walked down the spiral staircase, his hand pulling his hair in frustration. His head was on the verge of imploding. The buzzing was killing him. The stairs seemed long for some reason. 'Pang' He stopped, his eyes growing wider. 'Wait! wait!! what did i do?' His red eyed suddenly grew dull. His raised arms were clenched at his side.
"Dad, are you okay?" Raven got up first, her red eyes showing her concern. Damian lifted his head, his dull eyes growing warmer at the sight of is daughter. 'Thank goodness, she didn't see my hunger.' He smiled.
The living room was quiet. Athinna had returned to her father's side at some point, her eyes gazing coldly at the Vampire. With a cold snort, she turned her head away.
Ale smirked at Damian, his eyes shining with ridicule. Kavriel's eyes trailed Damian's disheveled figure before returning to his wife with a glint in his eyes.
Dareevah chuckled at Damian, understanding in her eyes.
Damian's steps paused as he caught sight of the green haired lady sitting beside Ale, his muddled mind growing clearer.
His heart was thumping, the realization crushing his shoulders. He unconsciously combed his hair, his fingers silently loosening the tangled threads. Ale smirked at his flustered Descendant.
"Umm...Who is the guest?" Damian asked, his voice a little too soft. The chasm finally broke. Dareevah being the first to let out a loud guffaw. The others following mere moments after.
Damian's pale face grew redder by the second, his eyes lidded in embarrassment.
Athinna also let out a soft chuckle, her voice like a peal of thunder in his ears. His heart picked up again, its bold thuds echoing in his head.
He disappeared.
*****************
A painful moan sounded in the rowdy living room, the laughter drowning it out. Dareevah placed a glowing palm on her belly. Her fingers tapping rhythmically, trying to soothe her restless baby. Her eyes shone red as she tried to determine the cause of her pain.
Kavriel looked at his wife, his face growing darker as concern ebbed at his brain. "Love, are you okay?" His strong palms were placed on hers, as he lightly stroked her round belly.
Another soft moan escaped her lips, her eyes closing in pain. "My baby....."
