Jayden's POV
Dawn had not yet broken when I pulled on my running clothes and slipped from the house like a shadow. The hoodie obscured my face as I moved through empty corridors, no security detail trailing behind me for once.
Nobody questioned my movements anymore.
Over the past weeks, I had established this routine of early morning departures, convincing my staff that these solitary runs helped me think clearly. They believed it was nothing more than exercise and meditation in the pre-dawn hours.
The deserted streets stretched before me as I crossed into the public park that bordered the city limits. Ancient trees stood like sentinels in the darkness, their branches creating intricate patterns against the starlit sky. Dewdrops caught what little light filtered through the canopy, making the grass shimmer beneath my feet.
