After Liam called me and told me that he was outside my dorm, I quickly freshened up and went outside to meet him.
So, I went outside but I didn't see him so I called him on the phone to ask him where he was. He told me to come to the parking lot, that he is inside his car, and he doesn't know if I'd be comfortable with him coming to my room.
I went to where he parked his car and entered the car.
"Good afternoon," I said immediately as I sat down.
"How are you doing? Do you feel better now? He asked while reaching for something in the back seat.
"Honestly, my head is a mess right now," I said in a low tone.
He then gave me what he brought from the back seat and said, "I got you food because I know that you might not have the strength to prepare something to eat."
"Aww! Thank you," I said with a smile on my face.
"Would you like to talk to me about yesterday?" He asked.
Then I shook my head and said, "Maybe later." I don't know why, but I found it difficult to open up to people about something that made me vulnerable.
And for Matheo's case, I didn't want to use people's opinions to make decisions because no one would understand us like us. I just wanted to do what I felt was right from the depths of my heart without being judged.
"Do you mind if I take you somewhere, so you can relax your mind a bit?" He asked.
I thought about it for a while, and I accepted, because I knew if I had gone back to my room then, I would have continued crying.
He started his car and drove us to a park close to our school. We went to a store there and ordered a mocktail.
So we stayed there for a while, and spoke about other things. When it was getting dark, I asked him to drop me off at my dorm, which he did.
So when I got home, an unknown number called me, then I picked up and asked, "Who is this?"
"Baby, it is not even up to a day, and you are already hanging out with a guy. I promise it wasn't my fault at all. Please, my baby, don't be hurt over nothing. You know how much I love you, I wouldn't do something like that, not especially to a….." Matheo said, but before he could finish his sentence, I ended the call and sighed.
I was so pissed off. I felt he was just trying to justify what he did, so I didn't try to read meaning into what he was saying. After the call, I just lay on my bed ( my haven), and then I fell asleep.
The next day, I dressed up and went to my lecture. After the lecture, I went to the cafe where I was working, then after I was done with my shift, I went home. I repeated this triangle for like a week.
During that period, Matheo didn't try to reach out to me or anything. I know I blocked all channels of our communication, but deep down I don't know why I was expecting something from him ( like a call with an unknown number or showing up at my room).
So one day, I got a call from Rita saying, "Ava, you just forgot about me since that day (the day of the party), I've not been in school for a while and you didn't even notice. I've been sick, you didn't try at all."
"Oh my love, I'm so sorry. That party left me miserable, and up till now I've still not recovered. Are you feeling better now?" I asked with a guilty conscience.
"Yes, I'm better now. I will resume lectures soon. So what happened at the party?" She asked.
"I don't even know where to start from, but don't worry I will come to your dorm later today, and we will talk," I said. Then we said our goodbyes, and I ended the call.
Later that day, I went to Rita's dorm, but on my way, I stopped by a store and got some snacks for her. When I got to her room, I gave her the things I got for her. She smiled and told me Thank you.
"So what happened?" she asked, curious about what I had to say.
" Rita, you won't believe I saw Matheo kissing one girl in the restroom," I said with my brows furrowed.
She was about to respond when I said, "But don't worry, I've blocked him everywhere, and we are no longer in contact," I said hurriedly, before she could judge me.
"Ahh! How did it happen? Like he left you and started kissing another girl in the restroom? I can't believe he would do something like that," Rita said, shocked by what I just said.
I told her how everything happened, including how Liam took me home, and how the next day he got me food and took me to a park to clear my head.
"Aww! Liam is such a green flag," she said.
I just smiled at what she said, and then I said, "You won't believe Matheo called me that same day, and started telling me how I couldn't even wait for a day before hanging out with Liam, and it wasn't his fault at all…"
Then I told her, " Do you know that since then till now I've not heard from him."
"Ahh! Is that what you are worried about?" she said with an evil smile on her face.
"No, no, I'm just telling you," I said, knowing fully well that I was also worried about that.
"You would have heard me out first," Rita said.
"Ahh! Are you trying to defend him now? I don't want to even talk about him anymore," I said.
We were still talking when the girl that Matheo kissed came inside Rita's room.
