Ophelia gripped the phone tighter, her heart pounding hard against her ribcage.
"M-Mother, did you font my house?"
The other end was silent for a moment before a soft chortle followed, her voice sounding closer to the speaker as she brought it nearer to her lips.
"Ophelia, that is a ridiculous question to ask. I'm your mother, it's only right I go to your house."
"Plus, If I hadn't, how would I have known you've been scheming alone? Who would've thought that pompous prick had so many flaws?"
"With all this, it would take nothing to pull him down from the high pedestal your grandfather placed him on."
