Ren moved through the heavy rain, trying to look for the light pillar, but he had no success. The rain was so heavy he couldn't see the light pillar. In fact, he couldn't see anything.
This is bad.
It was pretty obvious this was the test, and this massive rain area was a natural maze that didn't allow you to know where you were going. He had to figure out a way to get out. He thought to himself about how, until he came up with an idea.
Wait, if I use—
That thought got cut off because while he was moving through the rain, he started to spot a bunch of silhouettes moving in random directions. He paused and looked around him. Slowly but surely, there were silhouettes surrounding him.
There were four.
Ren closed his eyes, and then opened them immediately. He threw two Shade Jabs at two silhouettes and created four shades to attack the silhouettes, one for each.
The first Shade Jab hit the target clean, sending the silhouette flying back, making Ren unable to see it. But he heard a sound that he assumed was the teleportation mechanic working.
The second Shade Jab was dodged.
The shade from behind was also dodged, while the other two shades hit their targets, but they didn't get teleported away.
Ren took a step back toward the direction of the one that got eliminated to make some distance, but not enough for the silhouettes to completely disappear.
Ren was calm. Yes, he was fighting three opponents that he didn't know the capability of, but he had an advantage.
In this situation, the clouds and the rain created one gigantic shadow all over the place, so he could summon his shades from anywhere.
So he decided to summon a couple of shades from the spot that he used to be in, in the middle of the three to be exact, and used those shades to attack them.
He tried to take them down, but not too hard, so once they showed they were capable of dodging his attacks, they decided to reach the source of the shades.
So they all walked toward the shade spot, and they encountered each other.
They paused for a second, but that didn't continue for long enough.
They immediately started fighting.
One had tattoos on his arms. He touched one of them, and a sword appeared in his hand. The other two didn't have a visual effect for their powers, but they immediately clashed.
The one with the sword immediately slashed at the one in front of him, but the girl he aimed at easily avoided it and dodged the punch that came from the side.
The girl had danger sense at some level. She was the one who dodged Ren's attacks earlier with ease.
The one with the fists, along with the sword user, tried to attack each other because they got too close, but they both dodged their attacks.
So the girl came in and hit them from the sides.
The impact shook them both, but they immediately tried to attack her again. But again, she dodged the incoming blows pretty easily.
The sword guy and the fist guy, without a word, decided to focus on her and immediately rushed her, launching a wide kick and a wide slash.
The girl dodged them, but this time it wasn't as easy.
She didn't get a moment of rest. They continued attacking, and she kept dodging and dodging and dodging until—splat.
Her side got cut from the sword.
The cut was deep enough, and with the amount of blood she started to lose, she got teleported away.
Now the sword guy and the fist guy looked at each other.
The sword guy touched another tattoo, a tattoo of a bull, giving him the strength of one, and the fist guy got into a fighting stance.
The tattoo guy still had no idea what this guy's power was, so he was cautious and dashed toward him fast.
The fist guy ducked, making the sword swing above him, missing.
The tattoo guy was obviously not that good in swordsmanship. He was using a sword just because his power provided him the opportunity to use one.
The fist guy punched the tattoo guy hard in the stomach.
It was powerful, and he felt that even though he is using the bull's strength, meaning enhanced durability—
Boom.
His stomach was hit again, making him almost puke, but the fist guy didn't punch him that time. In fact, the fist guy was preparing for an uppercut that he landed.
His fist hitting his jaw almost broke his teeth, and it sent him flying through the air.
The tattoo guy tried to reach out for a different tattoo, but then he felt his jaw being uppercut again while he was still midair.
A double-impact ability.
That was his last thought before getting teleported away.
The fist guy, hearing the teleportation sound, just smiled and tried to walk away, smirking confidently from the victory.
But then something swept his legs, making him fall forward onto the ground face first.
He tried to get up, but someone held his head and smashed it multiple times into the ground.
Bang.
Bang.
Bang.
The last smash made the fist guy disappear, leaving the one who attacked him alone.
It was Ren who did it.
He quickly summoned his shades into an umbrella again.
"Well, this takes care of this."
All his opponents were gone now.
And again, he had to wander through this rain maze.
Smack.
Ghh—
While he was walking, something hit his back hard.
He turned around in panic, trying to figure out where that came from, but he couldn't see any silhouette.
Then he looked at the ground.
He saw a rock.
Then he heard something cutting through the air. He instinctively dodged. It flew past him.
It was another rock.
But Ren couldn't see where those rocks were coming from.
A bunch of other rocks came flying toward him, and he kept trying to dodge, but a couple hit, and the damage started to accumulate to the point that he used Shadow Skeleton on his arm as a shield.
"How the hell is he able to see me through the rain? I can't even see his silhouette. Is it some sort of detection ability?"
Ren tried to analyze.
No, if that was the case, his aim would be much better.
It probably meant that he could see his silhouette from a much further distance.
If that was the case—
He made his shades pop out of his body from random directions.
The second after that, the accuracy of the rocks dropped dramatically.
Now that he had a moment to focus, Ren created two shades from far away and made them sweep through a large area in front of him.
He felt the shades hit something.
It felt like a leg, so he immediately charged toward that direction and finally arrived at the location.
It was a guy, and he was trying to get up, but Ren immediately restrained him.
He struggled, but Ren didn't allow it.
"Now you and I need to talk a little."
