Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Berry's Crisis (Revised)

"Tide, Tide, Tide Power-Up, all~ the pleasure, from Whole Foods!" The exaggerated shouts of the TV commercial ended with a large logo popping up. "Vitamins: 3.3 times the daily recommended intake!"

..."Damn it, Jackie, you'd better have a good reason for calling me right now!" Inside the house, sunlight streamed through the window. In the foreground, V, wearing a tank top, paced irritably, her face full of displeasure, as if someone had ruined something good for her.

This was the first scene Berry saw when she regained her senses.

Blinking her moist eyes, Berry tried to move, but her arms and legs felt soft and weak. The moment she tried to exert force, a tingling sensation shot through her, rendering her unable to move at all.

Her shoulders felt cool. Looking down, she saw that her jacket and T-shirt had been removed at some point and were draped over the table. She was now only wearing a short tank top, no wonder she felt chilly.

She felt damp, but her pants were still on properly, and her belt hadn't been unbuckled. Berry's mind was still muddled, but she felt a sense of relief, as if some bad thing hadn't reached its final step.

"Alright, alright, you just stay there!" V hung up the phone.

"Hey, baby, are you okay?" Turning her head, V put away her earlier displeasure, her eyes bright with a smile. She walked over to Berry, bent down, and gently brushed the hair from her face, her actions full of tenderness.

Berry, baby—how rhyming. She had wanted to call her that for a long time.

Berry, whose head was still a mess, didn't even notice the change in address. She blinked her eyes and recognized the person in front of her as V, but before she could say anything, V was already helping her put on her clothes.

Putting on her T-shirt, then her jacket, and finally, ending with a sweet kiss. Berry didn't react as if anything was wrong, showing no basic resistance.

"We're going to Viktor's first." V licked her moist lips, her eyes filled with a desire Berry couldn't understand. "What we started earlier, we'll continue when we get back."

Whatever V said now, it sounded blurry to Berry, she couldn't hear it clearly. She only heard that they were leaving, and out of subconscious dependence, Berry grabbed V's hand as she was about to turn.

"V, my legs are weak, I can't walk~" Her voice was soft and sweet, tinged with a whimper. Coupled with the lingering blush on her face and her innocent eyes, V's breathing instantly deepened, and the emotions she had so painstakingly suppressed almost resurfaced.

"It's okay, I'll help you." Seeing Berry fruitlessly try to stand up, only to sit back down due to her weak legs, V felt her heart skip a beat. She knew she couldn't stay any longer; if she did, she'd stand Jackie up and stay home all day.

"...What's wrong with Berry? Is she sick?"

"...She just didn't sleep well. Let her wake up in the car, she'll be fine."

Berry was helped into the back seat, thoughtfully covered with a blanket.

Then came the hum of the car driving. The two people in front were talking, but Berry couldn't hear them clearly. She felt like she was drunk or dreaming; everything was hazy, and she couldn't recall anything in her mind. She just leaned blankly in the back seat.

It wasn't until the car stopped that Berry regained her senses.

Damn it!!!!!

The moment her self-awareness fully returned to Berry, she almost cursed out loud in excitement.

What on earth happened earlier? She was almost taken by V!

If it hadn't been for Jackie's phone call to V, she would probably be waking up naked in bed right now, and maybe V would still be leisurely smoking a post-coital cigarette beside her.

No, no, no!!!

Berry shook her head, trying to shake off all those shameful memories. She would never admit that she, a grown man, was so easily taken down by V.

What was that state she was in on the sofa? Limp hands and feet, letting V do whatever she wanted to her body. Wasn't that clearly a bottom, and the softest kind at that?

Is this what a grown man should do? Is this how a grown man should look? You should be ashamed, Berry!

For a moment, Berry felt her masculinity greatly challenged by someone named V.

Berry stared at V in front of her, her eyes seemingly spitting fire, her mouth puffed out in anger, echoing the raging fury in her heart.

You need to pull yourself together, Berry, show V your masculinity! Even if you're playing that kind of game, you have to be the one on top.

Having made up her mind, that previous time didn't count. Berry wanted to start over. She refused to believe she couldn't handle V. Although V looked very dominant and was stronger than her, no matter how you looked at it, it was A-cup versus B-cup, the advantage was hers.

"What, are you more awake now, baby?" The car had stopped at some point, right at the alley entrance to Misty's fortune-telling shop. V opened the car door, looking at Berry's flushed, angry face, and couldn't help but tease.

"My name is Berry, Berry, understand?" Berry gritted her teeth. She was furious now just looking at V's pretty face, especially that faint smile on the other's lips, which looked like nothing but mockery. "Not some damn 'baby'!"

"Uh-huh, whatever makes you happy." V shrugged indifferently, not wanting to argue with Berry over these trivial names. Anyway, she had pretty much done what she wanted to do. Now it was time to soothe Berry, and for that, she had enough patience. "Then let me help you out of the car, Bai~ Rui!"

"I don't need your help!" Berry threw off the blanket and got out of the car, angrily swatting away V's outstretched hand.

"Oh dear." Her mouth was incredibly stubborn, but the moment Berry's feet touched the ground, it was like stepping on cotton. Her legs went weak, and she almost fell.

"See, I told you you couldn't do it." V had anticipated this outcome. With one arm, she quickly wrapped around Berry's tilting body, preventing her from falling flat on her face.

"Don't touch me!" Berry flinched when someone wrapped an arm around her waist, her face turning a bit pale. On the sofa earlier, she had been held like that by V, who had done whatever she pleased. This embrace definitely brought back bad memories.

Blushing, she reluctantly pushed V away, stubbornly propping herself up on shaky legs, and staggered towards Misty's shop.

"Hey, V, what's wrong with you two? Aren't you usually getting along?" Jackie was leaning on the car roof, having watched V and Berry's strange interaction the whole time. He was a bit confused; why were these two so abnormal today?

"Jack~ie, I have you to thank for this." Seeing Jackie's clueless expression, V crossed her arms and said sarcastically.

"If it weren't for your phone call, I'd be washing bedsheets right now."

"Washing bedsheets? What does that mean?" Jackie was about to ask for details, but V had already turned and walked towards Misty's shop. Now there was no one to answer him.

"Washing bedsheets?" Jackie scratched his head, still pondering the riddle V had left him.

Following the usual human logic of associating incomprehensible words with suggestive meanings, Jackie finally seemed to understand.

"Damn it, it can't be that, can it?!" Jackie's eyes widened, somewhat disbelieving.
