Damian's heart twisted.
Zatanna — appearing with a swirl of magic, placing a possessive hand on his shoulder.
"My turn," she said sweetly.
"We talked about you wandering into magical battles alone."
Raven's eyes narrowed.
Just slightly.
Zatanna smiled at the half-demon girl knowingly.
"Cute cloak. Do they make it in adult sizes?"
Raven glared.
Zatanna winked.
Damian felt heat in his face.
Why did he feel like he'd just walked into a battlefield far more dangerous than the demon?
The Titans React
Beast Boy: "Dude, who is this guy?!"
Cyborg: "He just erased a demon with sunlight. WHAT."
Starfire: "A warrior of magnificent fire—full of passion!"
Tim Drake stared hardest of all.
"He fights like…"
His voice cracked.
"He moves just like—"
Damian stiffened.
If Tim said Bruce, it was over.
Zatanna snapped her fingers.
"Time to go."
Magic swallowed Damian, whisking him away just before Tim could finish.
After the Teleport
They reappeared on a rooftop overlooking the ocean.
Damian exhaled sharply.
"Zatanna—!"
She touched his face gently.
"You shouldn't hide who you are forever, you know."
He swallowed.
Her touch was warm.
Calming.
Safe.
Then—soft footsteps behind him.
Raven.
She had teleported too, shadows wrapping her like wings.
Her voice was quiet.
"I'm not here to fight.
I just… wanted to make sure you're safe."
Damian turned slowly.
Two beautiful girls.
One older and magical.
One his age and empathic.
Both staring at him.
Both drawn to him.
Both refusing to let him walk away.
He felt something unfamiliar in his chest.
Warmth.
Fear.
Hope.
Possibility.
For once in his life…
He didn't know what to do
