"Nooo, don't go, Kea," Lyia whined as she burrowed her face into my shoulder.
"I'm sorry, but I can't stay forever. I have school soon, and…"
"And your lovely roommate to return to?" Her mood immediately changed.
I'm glad I am being dropped off a ways away from the apartment, it would suck for her and my mom to run into Nil out here.
"Welp, bye, mom, bye Lyia. I'll come visit whenever you need to drop into the city again!"
They both waved.
As I walked towards my apartment, a familiar face popped out from around the corner
"Nil!?... I mean, what are you doing here?"
She looked around, my car still being a short distance in the random parking lot.
"Is that your car?* She asked.
I nodded.
"I'm heading back to the apartment, see you."
I quickly walked off, but not before a hand touched my shoulder.
"Stop going so fast! I'm not very athletic!"
W-what?
"I… thought you were going elsewhere," I questioned in confusion and panic.
"No. I was just on a stroll, no destination was planned!"
But why head back with me?
"Why don't I carry some of your bags!' She said, ignoring my anguish.
She grabbed the duffle bag that was weighing me down the most, the tension loosened, but…
"Now I can walk faster, you know, I might leave you behind."
*Huff* "This bag is nothing!...*huff* And I trust you wouldn't just leave me with your bag!.."
Err, she knows too much. But that also looks a bit too heavy for her…
Back at the car…
"So, I'm guessing that's his 'roommate'?"
"Yeah. She's very nice; it was she who helped me find the market. Without her, I wouldn't have gone back in time for dinner."
"She looks like a lovely girl. I'm happy for Kea. I hope she isn't too much. They could be a good pair."
"Hold it, Mom. You're awfully talkative today."
"I haven't the idea what you're talking about."
