Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Leo Grant’s Ex-Girlfriend

Passing by a large shopping mall, Holly didn't show any sign of stopping, continuously pulling Leo forward.

"Holly, how about we go buy some clothes? Don't girls usually like shopping?"

Leo stopped walking and pointed towards the mall as he spoke.

The little girl only had two outfits she rotated between. One was what she was wearing, and the other was the one Mrs. Hayes bought when he found her.

The little girl didn't have any other clothes, and girls should be all pretty and have lots of nice clothes.

"But, but I think I have enough clothes to wear."

Holly looked down at her own clothes and gently bit her lip as she spoke, feeling it was enough to have clothes to wear.

"This little girl really is unique."

Leo ruffled Holly's hair, then pulled her into the mall.

"Brother, are you going to buy clothes for me?"

Holly blinked her eyes, looking at the vast array of goods, and slowly inquired.

Her eyes were big and round, curiously observing everything like an innocent girl.

"Mm, yes."

Leo led Holly to the women's clothing section to buy clothes. He had never bought women's clothing before and had no experience.

"Brother, can I not try on the clothes?"

Holly blinked her eyes and said with an innocent expression.

Trying on clothes took time, and she had always been a bit lazy, naturally disliking the idea of wasting time on trying clothes.

"Okay, Holly, you can pick whatever you want. Once you're done, we'll go home."

Leo was more than happy to oblige. Shopping with a girl for clothes was something he'd never experienced.

Holly quickly picked out a few garments, had the shop assistant pack them, and once Leo paid, they quickly left the clothing store.

"Leo, why are you here?"

Just as they stepped out of the clothing store, someone called out to Leo.

A tall, slender girl approached, her features delicate and giving off a gentle vibe, and her attire added to her quiet demeanor.

Leo held the shopping bags, looking at the person in front of him without saying a word.

Holly tugged on Leo's hand, slightly stepping back, blinking at Rosalie Jennings with eyes full of curiosity.

"Shopping."

Leo's expression was cold, his face unchanged, calm and plain.

"Who's this little girl...?"

Rosalie Jennings curiously looked at the little girl beside Leo. The girl was incredibly cute, looking small and soft.

She didn't recall such an adorable little girl being by Leo's side.

"Holly Sawyer."

Leo stated the girl's name and then took her hand to leave, uninterested in engaging with irrelevant people.

The little girl's big eyes were fixed on Rosalie Jennings, full of confusion, as she tightly clung to Leo's hand.

"The little girl is so cute. Leo, what's your relationship?"

Rosalie unintentionally blocked Leo and Holly's path, asking gently, showing a particular interest in Holly.

"Ma'am, could you stop blocking our way? We're going home."

Before Leo could speak, Holly was already speaking first, looking at Rosalie timidly.

The little girl's voice was soft and sweet, very pleasing to the ear, yet her words instantly changed Rosalie's expression.

Auntie?

Auntie?

Auntie?

This little girl actually called her Auntie?

Is she really that old?

She was only twenty-two, still in the prime of her youth and beauty, yet she was called Auntie by this little girl.

The little girl was soft and cute, seemingly quite young, but shouldn't she at least be the age of a high schooler?

And she called her Auntie.

Rosalie's chest heaved as she suppressed her anger, "Holly, right? Little girl, you should call me sister. I'm the same age as Leo."

Outwardly, Rosalie pretended to be calm, her smile poised and sweet, as if she didn't mind at all.

"But I can't tell, eh. Brother looks much younger than you."

Holly blinked her eyes, hesitated for a moment, and then said earnestly, her gaze shifting between Leo and Rosalie.

It seemed as if she was comparing Leo and Rosalie.

Rosalie: "..."

The little girl was implying that she looked older?

"Little girl..."

"Auntie, it's normal for girls to like being young, but Auntie should accept aging gracefully, and not lie."

Rosalie kept telling herself not to be angry.

Just as she opened her mouth to speak, Holly interrupted her.

Holly's earnest tone, combined with her sincere expression, made her seem incredibly adorable.

"Brother, I'm hungry. Can we go home?"

Holly tugged on Leo's sleeve, looking up with a naive expression.

"Okay, let's go home."

Leo wore a faint smile, ruffling Holly's hair with a gentle voice.

He held Holly's hand, gave a cold glance at Rosalie, "Miss Ford, please step aside."

He spoke politely, but his tone was cold.

"Leo, have you forgotten about the things between us?"

Rosalie grasped tightly at her clothes, took a deep breath, and looked at Leo.

She had been with Leo; they were together for a year before breaking up. She was the only woman he had ever been involved with.

"We were together because of a dare, breaking up because I felt we weren't compatible."

Leo halted his steps, looking at Rosalie, speaking in an especially cold manner.

They had been together, yes, but it was due to an accident. He never liked Rosalie.

They were in the same social circle, where parties were inevitable; Leo didn't care for them much, but he occasionally participated.

In one game of Truth or Dare, Leo and Rosalie were pushed together and naturally got involved.

Before getting together, Leo clearly told Rosalie he didn't like her and they would break up eventually.

Rosalie had blatantly stated she could handle it, that it was just a game.

"In a year's time, did you not like me even a little?"

Rosalie shook her head, biting her lip gently, looking incredulously at Leo.

Together for a year, even a stone would warm up, so didn't her heart occupy even a small part of Leo's?
