Hastur clawed at the edges of the dark rift and he was trying to squeeze his giant, cosmic body back into the Abyss.
He was running from me.
"Nope," I laughed.
Two voices came out of my mouth at once—mine, and the dark, twisted echo of the Deadlights.
"You don't get to leave early. You're the guest of honor."
My glowing orange hands clamped onto his remaining arm.
I dug my boots into the dead dirt and yanked him backward.
Hastur shrieked.
It was a pathetic, terrified sound.
The great King in Yellow crashed onto the rotting grass at my feet, leaking starry, black sludge.
'You want to eat my world?' my mind raced, fueled by the crazy, chaotic energy of the Murder Clown sitting in my head. 'Fine. Now my world is going to eat you.'
I bit down hard on my right thumb.
The orange fire instantly mixed with my blood.
I dropped to one knee and slapped my bloody, glowing hand flat against the dirt.
"FUINJUTSU: DIMENSIONAL CORE SEAL!"

The ground exploded.
Massive, thick chains made of pure orange and violet fire shot out of the dirt like angry snakes.
They whipped through the air, wrapping tightly around Hastur's neck, his chest, and his squirming yellow tentacles.
"NO! LITTLE KING, WAIT—"
"I'm not a King," I grinned, my black eyes blazing. "I'm THE EMPEROR and you're the my new Slave."
I slammed my fist down.
The chains yanked violently.
The ground beneath Hastur literally opened up like a giant mouth.
The Outer God was dragged down, screaming, thrashing, and clawing at the dirt.
But the chains were anchored to my soul.
He couldn't break them.
He was pulled deep into the very center of the Upside Down.
SLAM.
The earth sealed shut over him.
The entire dimension went dead silent for exactly one second.
And then... the power surged.
WHOOSH.
A massive shockwave of pure, heavy magic blasted across the dead world.
The dark violet sky suddenly cracked with streaks of neon yellow lightning.
The air got so thick it felt like breathing underwater.

[ Dimension Upgraded: The Upside Down is now powered by an Outer God Core. ]

AWOOOOOO!
The Demodogs started howling.
But it wasn't from pain.
I watched as the closest Demodog doubled in size. Thick, white bone-armor ripped through its grey skin, plating its back and skull. Its blind, fleshy face peeled back, revealing glowing yellow eyes.
They were cosmic monsters.
Behind them, the Basilisk shed her entire fifty-foot skin in a single, wet shhhhuck.
She emerged bigger, her scales glowing a toxic green. Acid dripped from her massive fangs, hitting a nearby rock and melting it into bubbling soup instantly.
Shadowy, bat-like creatures covered in blinking yellow eyes crawled out of Hastur's leftover sludge and took flight.
And every single one of them stopped, turned, and bowed to me.
'Look at this,' the twisted voice in my head purred. 'Look at what we built. We are unstoppable.'
I smiled.
A wide, crazy, terrible smile.
I felt like I could tear the moon out of the sky and crush it like a snowball.
But then, a tiny, human part of my brain screamed in pure panic.
'Stop, You're losing control.'
I squeezed my eyes shut and reached into my mindscape, grabbed the dial on Pennywise's cage, and slammed it shut.
Click.
The lock snapped.
In the real world, the orange fire instantly vanished from my skin.
My eyes snapped back from pitch black to my normal, boring brown.
The power cut out.
Gone.
Just like that.
"Oh, god—"
I hit the dirt, gasping for air.
My lungs burned like I had just breathed in acidic air and my muscles felt like they had been run over by a truck.
I dry-heaved into the grass, clutching my chest.
The absolute rush of god-like power was gone.
It left me with a hangover that felt like my brain was bleeding.
I looked down at my hands. They were trembling violently.
'I liked that,' I realized, a cold knot of horror forming in my stomach. 'I actually liked ripping a guy's arm off and thought it was funny.'
I swallowed hard, trying to slow my racing heart.
'Note to self: Never let the clown drive for that long again. Ever. I don't want to be the villain of this story.'
I grabbed the handle of my Void Blade and used it to slowly push myself back to my feet.
I looked over at the edge of the yard.
Jane, Alec, Felix, and Demetri were huddled together by a dead oak tree. They were completely covered in toxic ash, staring at me.
They had just watched me turn into a fiery demon, beat a monster to death with its own arm.
Felix the giant wasn't growling anymore.
He was shivering.
I wiped a smear of blood off my chin and dragged my sword through the dirt as I walked toward them.
"So," I croaked, my voice rough and exhausted. "About that job offer in Italy."
I didn't even have to raise my sword.
All four vampires immediately dropped to their knees.
Jane, the terrifying torturer, bowed her head so fast her chin hit her chest.
They pressed their hands into the dirt, completely giving up.
"Good " I muttered. "Don't touch my pets. I'll be right back."
I waved my hand, ripping a small portal open to the real world.
I stepped through the rift, leaving the terrifying, upgraded monsters of the Upside Down behind.
[ Location: Frostwell Residence - Front Lawn ][ Time: 1:55 PM ]
My boots hit the green grass of Hawkins.
The sun was shining and yellow fog was gone.
Aside from my neighbor's crushed car and a small crater in my yard, it looked like a normal Friday.
'I need a shower,' I thought, totally exhausted. 'And a burger and a really good lawyer to explain that car damage...'
