Chapter 113 - Chapter 102: The Cleanup Crew, The Monster Army, and The Return to Hogwarts

[ Location: Frostwell Residence - Front Lawn ][ Date: March 21st, 1986 - Friday, 1:55 PM ]

My boots hit the green grass of my front yard.

The sun was shining and the yellow fog was completely gone. Aside from my neighbor's crushed car and a small crater in the dirt, it looked like a normal Friday.

'I need a shower,' I thought, totally exhausted. 'And a burger and a really good reason to explain what happened to the car...'

I stopped and rubbed my temples.

'Wait, Why am I stressing like a normal kid?'

I turned toward the wrecked Buick.

It was folded in half like a metal accordion.

I raised my hand.

'Atomic Rearrangement.'

The metal groaned and crushed steel unfolded itself.

The shattered glass melted back into perfect windows. The paint smoothed out, hiding every scratch.

The crater in my lawn filled with fresh dirt, and green grass sprouted right over it.

In less than a minute, the car and the yard looked completely untouched.

"Much better but" I muttered.

'did I grow stronger?'

I walked up my porch steps and headed straight for the basement.

The glowing blue energy dome was still up.

Inside, Eddie Munson and Chrissy Cunningham were huddled on the floor, looking absolutely terrified.

I snapped my fingers.

Pop.

The unbreakable blue dome shattered into glowing dust and faded away.

Eddie scrambled backward, pulling Chrissy with him.

His eyes were wide, staring at the faint violet glow still wrapping around my hands.

"Stay back!" Eddie yelled, his voice cracking. "What are you?!"

"Relax, Munson. The monster is gone," I said smoothly.

I walked over and tossed them both a can of Coke from the mini-fridge.

Chrissy caught hers with shaking hands. "The yellow sign... the headaches... it stopped."

"Because I shoved the guy into a dimensional" I smirked, leaning against the ping-pong table. "Look at me. Both of you."

They looked up.

I made sure my eyes stayed a normal, boring brown.

"This world is a lot darker than you think," I told them. "Monsters are real and magic is real. And I am the guy who hunts the bad stuff so Hawkins doesn't get eaten."

Eddie stared at me in awe. "So you're like... a real-life spellcaster."

"I prefer 'Magician'," I corrected. "But here is the catch. If you tell anyone about what you saw today—the floating, the magic sword, the blue dome—the government will come. Men in black suits will lock you in a lab and run tests on you forever and it will ruin my town. Got it?"

Chrissy nodded fast, tears in her eyes. "I won't say a word. I swear."

Eddie zipped his lips and threw away an invisible key. "My lips are sealed, man. Total secret."

"Good," I said. "Go home and get some rest."

They scrambled up the stairs and ran out the door like their lives depended on it.

Once they were gone, I cracked my knuckles and had one more mess to clean up: the high school hallway.

I formed a hand sign.

"Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

POOF.

POOF.

POOF.

Ten copies of me appeared in the basement and they all looked just as tired as I felt, but they stood ready.

"Alright, listen up," I told my clones. "Go to the high school and cast Obliviate on everyone who saw Chrissy float and saw me pull out the sword and erase their memories of the magic."

"What about the shattered lights and the cracked floor?" Clone 4 asked.

"Use illusions," I ordered. "Make everyone think a gas pipe exploded and tweak the memories of the teachers and the police so it all looks like a natural disaster or something"

"On it, Boss," the clones said at the exact same time.

They all vanished with loud CRACKS, teleporting away to fix the mess.

I dragged myself upstairs to my bedroom and crashed onto my mattress.

I looked at my right hand.

The Abyss Mark—the yellow, swirling scar left by Hastur—was still there.

But it wasn't burning anymore.

It was dull, grey, and quiet.

Sealing the Outer God in the Upside Down had completely cut off his tracking signal.

'He's my prisoner now,' I smirked.

Suddenly, a bright gold screen popped up right over my face.

[ WORLD QUEST AVAILABLE ]

[ Target World: Harry Potter (Year 3 - The Prisoner of Azkaban). ]

[ Objective: Expose the true traitor (Peter Pettigrew), save Sirius Black, and do something about the Dementor threat from Hogwarts. ]

[ Note: Time in your home world will remain FROZEN for the duration of the quest. ]

I stared at the screen.

'Do something about the Dementor threat?'

A slow, wicked smile spread across my face.

The System usually told me to survive or destroy things.

But this was open-ended.

'Wait a second,' I thought, my genius brain connecting the dots fast. 'Dementors are unkillable ghosts that feed on fear and I have a whole dimension—the Upside Down—that just got a massive power upgrade. But it's mostly empty except for some dogs and a snake.'

Why should I just destroy the Dementors?

'I should kidnap them. I'll take them, and any other magical beasts from the Harry Potter world, and throw them into the Upside Down!'

It was a brilliant, villain-level strategy. If I hoarded magical creatures, my dimension would get insanely strong. I could use their abilities. If the Abyss monsters ever tried to invade me again, they wouldn't just face me. They would face an army of soul-sucking ghosts and mythic beasts taking orders directly from me.

'I'm building an empire.'

I tapped my temple, opening the Chat Group.

Vivan Frostwell: @Shikamaru Nara Pack your bags, ninja. We're going back to magic school.

Shikamaru Nara: NO! I just finished a mission! Let me sleep!

Vivan Frostwell: You can sleep on the Hogwarts Express. Get ready. We have monsters to catch.
