After a chaotic lunch time Freda had just finished reading one of the assigned books, David just got out of the shower walking into the room with a towel round his waist to get his clothes. Just a few steps in and Ivy had appeared suddenly in front of him. "WWHAAAHHHH, YOU GOTTA STOP DOING THAT!". In his fright he had let go of the towel, falling to his ankles. David and Ivy simultaneously looked down, then up. David scrambled down for his towel in disbelief, his mum laughing uncontrollably. "Nope, Deffo not hiding no crown jewels down there" Ivy chuckled making Freda let out a loud cackle. "you two still haven't learnt?" she called after David who was scrambling back into the bathroom.
As soon as the bathroom door had closed Freda looked directly at ivy, "ivy I knew you were there, I could see the distinct disruption in the air where you were standing, I raised a child, so mums notice more than most. It's for my son's sake he points these things out; I won't be here to protect him forever, he needs the best you got for his sake, I'm happy to see your teaching him these things with methods he will not forget. One day he will thank you for this". Ivy understanding the importance of Freda's words nodded, "he's a good kid, he will make us all proud, I admire his spirit, I know why the electric wolf chose him and it's my duty to get him to where he needs to be".
Freda shifting her posture, straightening her back to be a bit more serious, "so, are you going to tell me how you knew my husband, I can see the claw marks from his robin red breast on the back of your neck, you have done well trying to conceal it". Ivy's shoulder slumped a bit with her head hanging lower than normal, "I was one of the ones he gave his life to save. I am sorry for your loss. He was a great leader and a brilliant man. I respected him a lot."
"My son got me to agree to this by telling me to be the change we want to see in the world, it hit me hard, His dad use to say this all the time when we complained about something. I understand it now, and I see you do to. I'm guessing he is the reason you came to teach the next generation".
Lifting her head slightly unable to answer, Ivy nodded as a tear rolled down her cheek. Following a wipe of her eyes and finding her composure Ivy hit the bathroom door, "we have work to do!", walking out more determined than ever.
Finally joining Ivy in the arena she gave Freda a coin, telling David to find a way to take it off her without her noticing. He used every method he could think off. But Freda knew exactly what his mission was and did not make it easy. After hours passed and night fell over the skies, blanketing everything outside in darkness David finally thought about the axe and how Ivy managed to retrieve it. 'I need you wolf' he thought and a spark of lightening sparked the middle of the forecourt. Ivy smiled for the first time since the end of lunch visit. 'I need you to use lightening jet against the ground beside Freda as many times as possible.'
Freda looked at the wolf, realising the danger she was in a wave of concern hit her. Feeling the sweat come off her body only multiplied this concern, until a jet of flashing water hit beside her feet. Jumping backwards and looking at her son she could only see pure anger on his face. Knowing this was serious she got ready for the next attack, however when the lightening jet hit beside her feet, a smaller simultaneous one hit her jacket pocket with precise accuracy, tearing a hole just big enough for the coin to fall out. One after another they came as Freda danced about solely focused on dodging them. Picking up the coin as Freda looked towards the next jet David's plan worked, however he kept going for another hour until, "okay okay, I think we should pick this back up tomorrow" Freda tried to say with a broken voice dodging another jet.
Ivy smiled, 'I don't think that's necessary, well-done David. Not only did you get the coin, but you did not let her know you had it and continued the deception. Very promising, go get some well-deserved rest'. Confused Freda put her hand in her pocket only to feel a cool breeze at the bottom of her pocket, looking up at David who flicked the coin back to her, "sorry mum, I had to lead you to believe I was angry to get you to fully focus on the jets".
Freda ran to her son, giving him a massive hug in a mix of relief and pride, "you are going to be great!". Watching on Ivy went to dismiss them for the night when an alarm blurred and all the lights in the room shifted to a danger red, "Get ready to defend, there is an intrusion in the castle!! THREAT LV 5, I REPEAT, THREAT LV 5"
